  1. "That" challenge by Evans was amazing but for me Benteke bullied our defenders who hardly won a header so I cant give them a MOM award. Kelechi gave Vards two chances on a plate, assisted one and scored so completely deserves the MOM award for me.
  2. Im not comparing them now. Im saying LT has huge potential and I would say even better than Chilwell. I have stated in this very thread I would put him out on loan to a lower league prem club or top half Championship club myself as I dont think he is good enough to be our 2nd best left-back when JJ is injured. For example, I wouldnt start him on Match Day 1 next season hence wanting reinforcements there.
  3. What a strange game of football. At no stage did I think we would not win. Despite Ndidi and especially Tielemans being as poor as I have seen them. Madders obviously not 100%, Vards missing about 5 chances, LT at left back making a few errors and generally not being at our best, we still won comfortably. When we click, we could turnover anyone. Today just shows despite us not being at our best for a number of reasons, we still win and create plenty. Real Madrid, were coming for you, were coming for yoooooou!!
  4. He can have a poor game every 25 or 30. Today was that day!!!
  5. He has a big future but he is one we are almost forced to throw into the deep end. Fair play to Rodgers for backing his player and well done to LT for trying. He made a few errors today but as I have stated in previous posts, I will never be critical of the player as he isnt ready quite yet. We cant expect any more than he is given us so anyone hammering him for errors must need there head tested. One for the future for me, one that will be better than Chilwell potentially but for me, not quite yet.
  6. Agreed but ultimately managing a Premier league club would be an ambition of many. Bayern are on track for I believe a 9th title on the trot. At least Spurs would be a challenge as hey win fudge all!!
  7. Its not about a deterrent, but a punishment. A 10 point deduction means that Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs cant make the CL. West Ham, Everton and us do. It may even drag Leeds into Europa. Spurs, Arsenal and maybe Liverpool may not qualify for the CL next season so they wouldn't be getting CL money anyway so a big fine would hurt
  8. Its a shame Nagelsmann has decided to join Bayern as I thought he would be a good fit for Spurs. I think as a football man who has managed Celtic and especially Liverpool, Brendan Rodgers will look at his squad, expansion plans for the stadium, new training grounds and our owners and stay put. He cant possibly look at there squad and think he has better tools to work with than we have. The only way he goes is for the reported 15m a year salary but I think with all these young players of quality we have that he goes nowhere.
  9. Its a tricky one for the decision makers. The greedy so and so`s did this for money but looks like they may end up getting sued for breaking the contract that they signed, then financial penalties or even points lost from the locals. I cant see how they give anything apart from a slap on the wrists here. A point deduction would mean Champions League or Europe exclusion for a few which again will damage these clubs further. Id fine them 50m and deduct them all 10 points each but lets wait and see the decision completely bottle it.
  10. In a strange way the media and football fans turning on the "Big 6" has been advantageous to us, we seem to regained focus. Its also strange how the neutrals want us to stay in the top 4 now to put a further two fingers up to the so called big boys. Its like 2016 again. I think with most of our players back to full fitness and confidence returning after the cup semi win and the WBA cruise, I really think we will peak at the right time. 4-1 tonight, Kasper going nuts after Zaha runs through in the 89th min to mess up his clean sheet bonus, Vards back to form with a brace and calls for "Kelechi out" after he dares to go a full 90 mins without scoring or assisting a goal. The other goal will be another set piece surprise, with someone like Ndidi beaming like a Cheshire cat when he puts us in front with a header.
  11. I'm willing to bet my 50p that he gets loaned out next season and that we look for a more solid alternative in position, especially if we are a Champions League club. With JJ out well into the new season and Castagne being largely ineffective at left back, it wouldnt be right to thrust LT in at this stage of his development.
  12. Im sure he has been subbed at half time in one of our games and I have seen him ripped apart of a couple of occasions. Whilst its great to see him involved we don't want to shatter his confidence. I have also seen him link up really well with Harvey Barnes in some games and looks very decent going forward but he has plenty to learn defensively. As I said in a previous post, this isnt an anti-Thomas post as there is plenty I have seen that makes me believe there is a prem player in there somewhere, but not yet. For the record James Justin had played nearly 100 games for Luton in the lower leagues before we made a move for him. I think LT needs a season or two down there before he is among a potential Champions League squad team.
  13. If he starts, he is our weak link. No offence to the lad who has huge potential but he should be loaned to a Championship club to aid development. We dont want him hanging around Hamza style and stagnating. I think he will be great competition for James Justin in 2 or 3 years but he isn't prem ready yet.
  14. Im a retail manager and what I cant get my head around are daft parents who let there kids stand on an £800 dining chair whilst they try to whack down a 5k Chandelier. Looking at the daft bints face as she smiled at her kid. If I was a 1930s copper I`d have clipped the little toe rag round the ear. I was contemplating doing a Hamza sliding tackle and kicking the chair away but the store is huge and CCTV is everywhere!!
  15. What was quality tonight is he looked like a player who is coming through the rustiness of a lay-off after injury. He just seemed up for it from the get-go which bodes well for the rest of the season.
  16. I'm sure the pundits will tell us how garbage WBA were, but we returned to our faster link up play and they couldn't get near us. If we needed to get 9, I reckon we get them as we were that far ahead of them today. The table doesnt lie and the result played out just like a side who had won 17 games should against a side that won 5. Everything went with 8/10s all round. I even saw what looked like Kasper come of his line to punch a cross. To be fair I am knackered after a long day at work so it probably never really happened!!!
  17. Are you sure? The standard of all round central midfielders is as poor as I can remember. When the likes of PSG sign Guaye from Everton, Real Madrid have Kroos, Bayern Goretzka, Dortmund an 18yo Bellingham, Barca Frenkie de Jong, Juve Arthur or sometimes Aaron Ramsey, i`d take a 23yo Tielemans all day.
  18. Firstly I will need to see what parties are going on in the Leicester area, then how many of our players will be joining in. Once the facts are in, I`ll make a prediction.
  19. My Kasper Schmeichel top trump Card... Penalty Box Shot Stopping 9/10 Outside the Box Shot Stopping 6/10 Fitness 9/10 Aerial Ability 2/10 Distribution 3/10 Kasper has got to win an award for being the most confident keeper with his feet, who is basically crap! He strolls around like someone between Ederson and Zidane but is woeful with the ball at his feet. Dont get me wrong, this isnt an anti-Kasper post as he has been amazing for us, but I know that one day I will either smash up the laptop or sling the remote at the TV when he clips his "pass" to the full-back that goes astray or even worse, fail to come off his line for an oppos set-piece and they head in from a yard.
  20. What I really like about him is that he drops into that no 10 position, half turns and lays it off or tries to make something happen. He also lays the ball off and we can build around him. Vards doesnt give us that and needs the ball behind. I cant wait for Maddison to be the one playing behind both Vards and Kelechi as we will have all sorts of options going forward. Its just a shame Madders messed up and didnt give Brendan the opportunity to play him instead of Praet.
  21. He has been stupid, but so have another 3 players. I'm sure that some wouldn't mind if Ayoze was punted out with Hamza, no-one would realistically be calling for Maddison or Barnes to do one. As for performances, you have to look at it a bit deeper. Under Rodgers, it seems he doesn't fully trust Hamza and his career has regressed. When I watch Hamza play, he can look like Kante at times and at others, like Terry Hurlock. His positioning is woeful as is his reading of the game. Rodgers has seen this and decided he wont get us much game time as we have better options. While not many players have left us in recent times that we wished didn't, possibly with the exception of Kramaric, Hamza can easily be one that got away. He is still young enough to go to another club and carve out a good Premiership level career. Has he the mentality and the ability, time will tell but I when a player isnt given a proper run in the side, we cant be too critical. BTW go back through the Kelechi topics in here. How many 3 months ago wanted him to be offered a new contract? He has been given a chance, had a real run in the side and has shown us what he can do. Thats about 4 years after being with us and many would have wanted him out. Hamza IMO has good potential but wont be allowed to fulfil it until he gets to another club.
  22. Players have way too much power these days. The power is without doubt with the player. If you dont almost shame players to step up like Rodgers has done, you just send a weak message to the rest of the squad. IMO, he absolutely made the correct call here. I would go one step further though, I would put the pressure on that they impress in training and show that their attitude will change for the better. They went to this gathering knowing that not only the club, but the whole country have had to make sacrifices. I for one have a 22 year old son I havent seen since just before Christmas and its Covid related. If we are expected to follow the rules, they should too. Sometimes footballers are so thick it makes my head hurt, last weekends goings on just show me how dumb some of these young men are.
  23. I may be in the minority here but I cant have a pop at the "Hamza situation". The lad is 24 later this year and wants to play football. He has shown enough to know that there is a decent footballer in there, however he has hardly kicked on in the last couple of years hence his frustration. We resigned Mendy for a season which limited his time and its very difficult to expect a player like Hamza who hasnt had much game time to play at his best. Im pretty certain he will go but I cant knock him for wanting to play football. As for bumping this thread because of being part of a quartet of first team players and injured players who decided to break Covid rules, I see no link myself. If he goes it should be because we have better players and he doesnt want to bench warm and not the events of the last 7 days.
  24. I feel for Amartey. He has only ever been average since he joined and had what feels like a couple of years out with injury. Had Benkovic done half of what we wanted Amartey would have been sold on to a Championship club or maybe lower table prem club. He has plenty of limitations and that's why we will continue to look for another centre back this summer. He shouldn't be the scapegoat BTW as he always gives us his best, but his best would not be good enough for a top 4 club whilst Cags, Fofana and Evans best would. He must be out of contract this summer?
  25. There is nothing wrong with Rodgers mentality. He has done amazingly well wherever he has gone. Had he not been sacked at Liverpool and given the funds Klopp got, he would have won the league earlier IMO. Today the players just weren't at it. It wasnt one player but most. A coach can only do so much and he will always look like a star once the players carry our the orders. However, if anyone is suggesting that his mentality led to some of that shocking defending then they need there heads tested,
