Thought I'd try on this thread.
I'm off to the NFL game at the Tottenham Stadium Sunday and my lad lives in London, if you're going to the ground, whats the best/quickest way to get a train either overground or Tube from central London and back?? Got to get back to Hanwell before rushing home for the France vs South Africa RWC Quarter.
Any local knowledge gratefully accepted.
As Germany are A1, do we presume the other top seeds are 1? e.g. B1, C1 etc.
Presume England will be one of the top 6? Germany, France, England, Belgium, Croatia, then Netherlands/Portugal/Italy/Spain?
How many are left? I'm up tomorrow and where's best to buy?? Not been to Loftus Road before & my lad lives in London, so he is chomping at the bit for London games QPR & Millwall
All I would say about the club is that it should be planning ahead.
IF (Big) we are still setting the pace that we are now, the purchases if there are any, should be players expected to perform or be squad players in the PL. We'll need a good 6 players across the next 2 windows - 1st team/squad to ensure we stay up without any panic next year, to kick on afterwards.
We don't want to buy Championship players for half a season. All focus should be on PL standard players.
Winks was amazing against Cov 1st half, but think hasn't played at that level since to the point where wasn't impressed yesterday.
Vesty yes a better season (the bar was v low to start) BUT we are in the Championship, he would be very exposed in the PL in so many ways and has been.
Wilf is playing football SO different to what he played for us for for the last 6 1/2 years, there are times when it makes you laugh what he is trying to do and occasionally it comes off.
That move will likely be goal of the season, and the cross/pass was a blinder. Sitting down the defender when he scored against Southampton was unprecedented. Again not sure how effective in the top flight but we are only 9 games in of 46. But the BIGGEST turnaround in a different role.
Allied to which they've hit the wall (already), couldn't win at Rotherham (2nd bottom and only pt in the last 12) AND tanked at home by Albion.
BUT as for every slightly tough game this season, a dirty 1-0 will do for me.
And so far NOBODY in the League has scored more than 2 goals against us in the League.
Plus we are 6pts clear of 4th already, its a strong squad, they don't have the choice so have to find the best remedy they can. And we have that buffer.
Time for somebody else to man up and hopefully he's back by Christmas at worst
His run from the wing, across the pitch, down the middle for Hermansen's long ball to be be clean through, was I think the best moment of the game, stunning run, along with the Hermansen's save in the 2nd half & giving the Norwich fans grief over handball
