We cannot lay this all at the manager's door. The players need to look at themselves, they look like rabbits caught in the headlights, doubts have crept in, and confidence has drained under the pressure of promotion. There seems to be a reoccurrence of the two 4th place finishes that were in our grasp, only for our team to shoot themselves in the foot on more than one occasion. Some of the same players that were damaged from those campaigns remain at the club, hence we bought Coady to be a leader on the pitch and in the dressing room. Not playing Coady seems to be an odd decision by Enzo, if it is leaders we lack on the pitch and the club did indeed think that was the only reason we went down, then you have to play him. Obviously, those at the top never point the finger at themselves, but why spaff all that money on a player when the club is skint, and then don't use him? This to me seems to represent the malaise the club finds itself in. It could be a long few years ahead, but I hope not, and the players grow some and get us promoted.

I can't see Mr Hubris on the list, although that applies to many of them.

In my conspiratorial mind, the 22/23 season is starting to make sense. The club tried to sell players but were being lowballed because they knew we were up crap creek without a paddle. Agents were probably telling their players that the club didn't have a brass farthing to its name, so other clubs weren't going to pay the fee Leicester wanted. Hence the "run down your contract for a fat payday" scenario that the club faced and is still facing. Add the manager to the mix, who was sulking, lost his way, and is partly responsible for the mess the club was in. Then add to the mix, a board that seemed to be absent and had buried its head in the sand, and voila you had the perfect storm. Why is it our club seems to be the masters of shooting ourselves in the foot, head, arse, and then blowing its genitals off? It is never a dull day in 'Alice in Foxes land' ....it's time to bring back the 'Mad Hatter' as DoF to sort it out with a few head butts here and there.

I suspect it was his faith in Rodgers and sheer hubris that cost us. I remember Rodgers saying that we need to kick on after the FA Cup win and stop becoming a selling club, we all know what happened next.....a 'Greek tragedy'.

There needs to be some governance in football, we as fans don't want owners spending money they don't have, thus leaving the club with a pile of debt it can't service. On the other hand, none of us outside the so-called big 6 don't want to see a closed shop, as this makes the league too predictable and stops us from dreaming. Maybe there needs to be a loan/debt bond issued before owners go on a spending splurge. Either way, the club knew this would happen, but they didn't think it would be a points deduction, just the normal fine.

The problem with the Premier League profit and sustainability regulations is that too many clubs were probably too far down the rabbit hole when they voted for it. I suspect some of the restrictions will be eased in the future because it is starting to affect clubs like Newcastle, Man Utd, and Chelsea, once the bigger clubs feel the squeeze then things seem to change. As for our club's culpability, well those upstairs knew it was coming, but allowed Brenda to overpay for transfers, and handed out stupid wages for a club our size. Combined with the hierarchy being convinced of his god-like status and taking his advice to not sell any jewels in the crown this has subsequently left us "up crap creek without a paddle". In the space of a few weeks, the clouds of doom seem to have descended on our club.

My late Gran used to say that if Leicester start well they will blow it, and if they start badly they will come good. I know this isn't 100% correct, and there are a few exceptions, but on the whole, she was right, because as a club we have a funny way of shooting ourselves in the foot. I think this is why winning the prem is the un-Leicester thing to do. Supporting this club is like going on a rollercoaster ride with part of the track missing...... bloody scary! Let's hope the team pulls themselves together because they will be remembered for all the wrong reasons.

This league brings you down to its level, I'm just surprised it has taken so long. It is a grind, but to blow it this close would be very hard to take.

Jesus wept, I haven't been on here to moan for a long time, but that was pants today. I am now so negative, that I can't see where the next win is coming from, what a difference a few weeks make!

Yep fair point, I'm still pissed off at how it was messed up. I'm pretty certain a Middle Eastern country is not going to buy us, so any new owners would eventually be constrained by the same problems this current regime has, but there are enough dodgy turds out there to f**k us over, so at this moment in time, I think it's probably advisable to stick with KP.

For those wanting TOP to sell up, be careful what you wish for. I don't see anyone buying us apart from an American-style ownership model ala Yanited or Burnley.

From the outside looking in, there seems to be a lack of communication in the club, or maybe someone just can't add up. Either way, it doesn't look good on our club, as we have previous on this. I still think we need a reorganisation of those in their ivory towers, Top should only be loyal up to a point!

Some people have rose-tinted spectacles or call it nostalgia during the Pearson reign, myself included, but it wasn't all plain sailing with the fans, etc. I look back on the MON era with fond memories, but when I think about it, some of the football was turgid and quite a snooze fest, but for some reason, I think everything was great during that era. It seems to be happening a lot around the world, I don't think this is just a problem with entitled football fans, Trump, and his MAGA-chanting acolytes. Baby boomers and Brexit and their desire to turn back the clock for a nostalgic era that never existed, or Le Penn in France promising a return to the France of the 1950s. I think what I'm saying is that football fans like the general population always think it was/is better somewhere else!

If Enzo decides to call it a day, then these fans who are moaning and want some kick 'n' rush ping pong football, will only get a possession-based coach as a replacement. The club has decided since the days of Puel to go down the route of 'keep ball' and nothing will change in the foreseeable future. I for one don't want to go back to lumping it up the field or become a counter-attacking team again, it wouldn't work in the championship, teams would sit off us and the players wouldn't know what the hell to do!

Soyuncu off to Fenerbache then! He couldn't cut the mustard at Atletico, with one of the most defensive-minded coaches in world football. For some on here, he could do no wrong, he was the second coming of Christ on more than one occasion, but Simione must have spotted some blatant flaws in his game.

It's probably a need-must scenario, selling a homegrown player allows the club to cook the books, and the £30 million for KDH will be shown a pure profit. Meanwhile, if Enzo wants a couple of players in, then the costs will be spread over their contracts. If clubs were made to live financially like the rest of us, then a lot of them would go to the wall.

There's a list as long as your arm of footballers being caught drunk driving. You'd of thought the amount of money they earn they could afford to employ a chauffeur full-time.

I don't get why some of our homegrown players like Hamza get so much criticism, KDH got it last year, Chilwell every year he was at the club, and Barnes would be a world-beater one minute and a complete pile of s**t the next. Luke Thomas is already a has-been, yet Soyuncu was the dog bollocks, and could do no wrong for some on here! Hamza will never be a world-beater but whilst we're in the championship he can do a job for us.

Do we think most footballers understand anything about tax avoidance? Financial advisors or accountants told them they could save some money, and it was all probably above board, your average footballer is not going to look any deeper than that.

I'm not sure Italian clubs will pay big money, the Government has recently canceled tax breaks for foreign players. So I'd imagine Napoli will be looking to get a bargain.

Souttar's contract is over 5 1/2 years, so the £15 million will be spread over the duration, so that is around £2.72 million a year. Now the club will be interested in the balance sheet for FFP. By the summer his value on that will be minus 1 1/2 years of his contract, so if he goes for around £11 million, then it wouldn't show as a loss. If we send him on loan next season, then the club can sell him for around £8 million, technically the club hasn't lost any money on him, but in the real world, we know that to be untrue.

Well if Maresca can turn Yunnus into our version of Bernardo Silva, then I think he could have a good career with us!

It's the old dodgy accountancy rules: 40 Million-ish wouldn't be wiped off, it will be spread over the length of the player's contract, so it is more like between £8-10 million a year. The money we get from sales would instantly be shown on the balance sheet at £75 million.
