Yes. To be honest I was disappointed in him. We made it clear we would like him and wasted too much time on him already. From his perspective though it would be better for his career if he took any decent job as you can be out of any profession for too long.

I hear what you say but he is very tenacious and good at both winning the ball and retaining it in tight soaces. He can also pick a pass and drive forward with it. I think you could slot him into a deeper midfield role no problem. I didn’t mean it literally but thinking about it the only thing that put me off doing that is with his talent it seems a waste not playing him further forward.

Bilal is so quick over the first five yards. He is really coming on. Missing buonanotte big time here though. I’d even bring him on for hamza as the matters passing has been poor.

I have to admit I’m really starting to appreciate this lad. I thought he had a very good game and showed lots of energy and enthusiasm. Improvement in his link play and crossing is noticeable. Well done.

I always thought he looked decent at Fulham. Their team has progressed since then and he is older and not been given much time here. If he can get more time maybe he can prove a useful squad member. Wish I could say the same of Edouard who just doesn’t seem bothered.

I think ideally he would have been loaned out but with FFP constraints we needed to keep him in the squad. He isn’t the finished article and as you say needs to work on his distribution. There is definitely potential there though. I may be a bit biased towards the local lad but he has proved he can score and assist at this level , has pace and awareness. He is still relatively new in terms of minutes in the first team and at this level. With time and confidence I think he could become a decent player at this level if he puts the work in. He is never going to be a Mahrez or even a Buonanotte but I don’t think we should be knocking young lads who are brave enough to get out there and give their all for the cause. He is one of our own coming through the ranks. If we continually knock him publicly what message does this send to other up and coming youngsters at the club.

I actually think that he really appreciates the different stages of the game, player matchups and their fitness levels. Tactically his in game management is looking very good to me. The players are clearly keen to impress him too and he is really getting a tune out of them.

Really seeing the best of him at the moment. The last two games it been noticeable the effort he has put in running back tackling and trying to influence the game. Plus points for RVN for playing him in his natural position. That drive second half was great.
