My take is they did but there is only do far you can take it. Watching Stolarczyk, though not as good as mads, he is still very assured with his feet and should be no2 in this system. Both can act as that extra center back when needed, which Iversen is miles behind them on. i remember watching the warmups late last season, and they did lots of practice with Iversen sending long balls to the wing. More often than not, the ball just going out. I think the best anyone is going to get from him is to punt the ball centrally. Great shot stopper though.
-
Hope he does well. Great shot stopper and came across as a real nice bloke as well. Hope this spring boards his career as i still feel he has great potential.

There is taking it to the max, and then there is being completely reckless. Paying something like £115k a week for Lingard and Navas £200k a week (to name 2) was spending way out of their league. They were gambling rather than building. Ironically, the Navas gamble might have been the one that saved them from relegation.

Tony will be sold. Had a hunch this would be a tough year for Brentford. As we found last year, once you are in that bottom 6 its very hard to get out of it.

Next season please!

Stolarcyck was fine against Huddersfield and in the other Milk cup games he played, and played a similar style. Think the club regard him highly. Baring in mind all the factors in that Liverpool game, I don't think he was anywhere near as bad as you made out. Agree - just thought i would add it as you never know. Someone was on here saying they heard a rumour he might be off to Burton.

Recovery from the ACL was always going to be a bit stop - start, and i am sure expectations were managed around it. I think it will be a case of taking a few steps forward for the time being, and hopefully we see more game time towards the end of the year. Unless he is going on loan of course.

Do you not presume that he may have earned something a little better? Its not going to be a 1 year project to get Birmingham promoted.

An assist against Coventry in a 46 game season. Ill drive him to Torino myself, although i better be careful if i go over some speed bumps.

Lately i have gone full circle on this. Pissing the league (so far) has had its upsides, but i would like to get back to watching the best players come to the KP. Literally have no idea who the majority of the players im watching are. I know if we get this over the line that next season is going to be a very difficult year, but I want to see our players have to break a sweat against some top talent, rather than watching Vesty walk the ball to the half way line because a second rate attacker is caking himself.
-
Not a chance. Those who have excelled under Enzo (Ndidi, Vesty, Faes, KDH) have solid work ethics and you can see the effort they put in when they play and how much it means to them. For Preat to want that sort of renaissance, he needs the same work ethic and desire to succeed here. Nothing convinces me his attitude has changed. A lot has been made on Enzo 'rating' him, i can only recall Enzo saying he was a 'technical' player, which i agree with. But Enzo hasn't to my knowledge come out and praised any other elements of his game.
-
The whole left footed transition thing. Think Enzo will likely prioritise that, but i think JJ still has a solid place in the side.
-
JJ has gone from strength to strength, but when fully fit i expect Enzo to be picking Doyle.

Was chatting about this to my lad on the way home. In a way, i want to be careful comparing him to Barnes as Barnes had a few years of good stats against Premier League defenders. To be compared Mavadidi will have to prove himself against much better defences. But, i think he is ready to step up to the challenge and will be doing this next season. I do prefer watching Mavadidi though. He tracks back well and is playing with a swagger right now.
-
I saw him interviewed after our game on Sky, and couldn't get over how little sense he made. To the point where i thought he wasn't well so I didn't take the piss. Clearly not made out for management. Hopefully can be involved in the game somehow but lets hope some bright US owner doesn't think Rooney should be key to their plans.
-
Should we be paying Premier League prices now? It feels the most risky thing to do. I don't agree with bringing in championship level players right now unless we feel they have the ability to progress quickly. I think this is a very tough transfer window for us to get right. I think we will see a bit of deadwood shifting (bloody hope so anyway), and the maybe a small amount of incomings. But i'm not expecting the big PL rebuild to start this month.

Rotate - not sod it. Give Stolarczyk the game and play Hamza, Yunus and Sharky. Protect Winks and don't start the 2 wingers who have played a lot of football.

Totally glossed over the Jota dive this morning on the Radio. Neville called it out when it happened, but all over punditry seems to have accepted it. Can you imagine how Klopp would be behaving if that was given against Liverpool at 3-2 to kill the game off?
-
Don't think he was to be honest. Seemed to be pretty transparent it was 3rd hand info and things would change quickly. Shame it got a lot of flack as it was interesting to read last summer.

Huddersfield (H) 4-1 - New Years Day - Post-Match Thread

Shout out to JJ who I thought was immense. He’s been gradually getting better and better all season. -
I heard he damaged his thumb responding the texts from Torino. 6 weeks out.

Yes. Coventry are in form right now so it’s not a game to take lightly. Millwall were dirty bastards at the kp. We rotate in the cup game and leave the strongest for the league.
