West Brom didnt deserve to lose against us. They created more and had better chances - Jakub kept us in that game. My fear is out luck has run out a little.

My issue is, that I can see West Brom and Blackburn sorting themselves out (i think Rowett 'could' work at Blackburn, but not here), and I think Norwich are now ok. This is why it's so important that we get someone in who get the job done this season and that the club drop the whole 'playing the right way' nonsense. I have a horrible feeling, the "we'll just be fine" feeling is still consuming the club.

We had a bloated squad, so we had to have outgoings. JJ was not on a small wage so a LFL replacement was never on the cards. Also, JJ still had good games for us - i am not buying that he is somehow doing better with Leeds - he is not first choice. And you know if they overplay him an injury is on its way. We definitely needed incomings for LB/RB, but then, we should have been bringing Aluko in more. Seems we have Victor back as well who may have been playing with an injury before (clutching at straws with VK a little). And to your Enzo comment, i think Riccy was poor 2nd half of the Enzo season. He was worked out and most attacks in the games we lost came countering on his side. His is the position we should have prioritised and we should have dropped the 'Riccy' role by now anyway. The odd concencius is that noone else is good enough to do it, but when Riccy is simply woeful at it and has been for 2 years - we need to change something.

Rowett isn't going to play the formation the board (well, Top and Rudders) want. If Blackburn are offering him a longer deal, and he has authority over formation / playing style, why would he come here?

A few times at home game Fatawu had completely lost it and Riccy, playing on the same side of the pitch, did absolutely nothing. Really disappointed with him.

He has another job - surely that means we are not paying him. Just looked - their form is horrible.

It’s now 2026. How many clubs have the same RB from 7 years ago. Especially one who has spent so much time injured.

Even worse, I’ve seen people blaming other players for passing to him rather than punting the ball forward. Could you imagine if one of the academy boys makes the mistakes he does yesterday ? Even worse is that Riccy has got lucky this season! Riccy has been our worst defender this season. I don’t care about the past, you have to call it as you see it now. At home games we sit right in front of where he defends when we defend the kop end. The amount of poor defending and misplaced passes from him is staggering. He is just way off it. He won’t be able to play Tuesday surely?

He really could have done with the following senior pros stepping up and embracing their leadership within the group: Riccy Okoli Ayew Bobby Winks (today - was much better against Charlton) And although he scored a very good goal, Abdul needed to be much more disciplined. When the players that are here to drive leadership let you down, it makes your life as a manager very, very hard. Marti talked a lot about Bobby's football brain - he showed very little of that today when it was desperately needed. I didnt think Begovic was much cop either, especially if he was brought in to provide experience. 2 huge mistakes which if Jakub had made everyone would be going bananas about.

Fair enough. I thought we were as bad as i have seen all season. Very few chances created, giving the ball away at the back. Forum members calling for Begovic because Jakub was 'flappy', yet Begovic making silly mistakes as well and not coping with passing out the back. First half stats considering the sending off was on the 34th minute. Stats are different to the 'eye' test - but i was hoping for an improvement.

2nd half, chasing the game for about 35 minutes. We were f4k1ng terrible.
