  1. Correct, question is which Tuesday will in be and on what month/year?
  2. I’d actually take Cooper if Forest got rid. He has been let down with the high turnover of players there, how is any manager suppose to get them to gel at this level? He showed how good he is in getting them off the bottom (could he do it at a level up?) and with the England youth side.
  3. I’d agree with this. If it is money related, more of a principle of paying him than physically not being able to? If that was the case, surely the game of chicken is going too far now….
  4. Fair enough, apologies for the jumping to a conclusion. Of course it’s not done. I think people are justified for the level of concern and mostly people are saying ‘if’ we don’t change him in this international break we will be on the back foot for the next run of fixtures making the 7 points in the next 5 games more unlikely. Clearly there’s an element of preparing for disappointment to try and ease the reality should it happened. Preparing for the worst. It does feel the club is sleep walking towards relegation at the moment….
  5. You seem to be mocking people who are concerned so I don’t see where Rodgers in comes into it, more likely either one of these who thinks we will stay up with no stronger argument than ‘we are too good’. News flash, nobody apart from the rich 6 are exempt, we are not too good. That or you find the idea of us going down genuinely amusing? Id say the former in fairness to you. Second paragraph ok fair enough, I’m sure most of us myself included agree with the sentiment that we can turn it round. The concern is that there is no sign of them giving him the boot yet so what if we get to 10 games, only 3 more so quite feasible he gets those, with 1 point? Surely you have to admit that is very unlikely to be turned around?
  6. This is the problem, they owners/board have let one man become bigger than the club in how he is treated.
  7. Oh give it a rest, you think you’re a right smart ass don’t you? Of course there’s plenty of time in the season but given we are getting worse by the game it’s hardly surprising that people can’t see where 39 more points are coming from? I’m assuming you can? Or you have a list of teams who have survived from similar positions to this? Where do you think the next point is coming from them genius?
  8. Whether down to the board leaving it too late at which we are at that tipping point going into this international break (and I have no faith they are going to do what needs doing before Forest) or because too much damage has been done with the squad, I also feel it is now inevitable. We would need to have a new manager in by Forest and to hit the ground running. As per some posts above, I am turning my attention to what the squad will be like after relegation. Iverson - if he isn’t taking the hump and wants to leave (wouldn’t blame him) RB - Justin? I would say Castagne but he would rightly want to go CB - Faes (assuming he would stay wages dependant CB - New? Evans will be too old/high wages and can’t see Soyuncu signing on and staying unless a new manager comes and he wants tp LB - Thomas - probably would be good for him on a personal note CM - KDH - can’t see him jumping ship CM - Soumare? New? Tielemans and Maddison will go. Braybrooke break through? Wingers - new, Barnes will go. Alves breakthrough? Popov? Could do with getting these kids on loan second half of the season to get match experience/ready CAM (if 4231) - new? Maddison will go CF - Daka? Would he stay? Would surely score for fun. Possibly his wages will be too high. Others Vardy - signed a new deal but wages unsustainable Ndidi - not good enough for championship any more. Will probably be sold off Nacho - will get a taker in the Prem and score/assist for fun Not looking good. Should have snapped up such as Bowler from Blackpool for very little to build in preparation…
  9. Another who is wasting a shirt currently but the alternative is Thomas. I think both are good players but are both in a rut and have been badly affected to the point of regression by Rodgers (and injury in JJs case). He did well to win the pen but defensive lot where it matters, so frail. Makes it even more of a joke Castagne was dropped before JJ and Thomas as he is more experienced and seems to be able to keep a higher level of performance despite the management. I was good to see both full backs play such a key part in the goals (our goals)! We need that with the lack of side options. But with BR in charge we are always going to be so wide open defensively and so badly organised.
  10. No of course, I think 99% of us want the same thing now and we all want what it best for the club even if that’s in different ways at times. I also suspect that personal feelings towards BR play a part in the speed in which people have wanted change. I have openly said that was the case with me, I am in no ways entitled as a supporter, I loved the League One season and the championship promotion pushes. We also had the season before promotion when we had a similar collapse under NP and I never wavered on him as for me, it is about the personality of the team, the fight and desire. The lack of all these is what long since turned me against BR. Teams definitely inherit the personality of the manager and we have seen BR’s true personality in recent weeks….
  11. I think it is unfair of you to speak for everybody here. Speaking for myself, I did not like Rodgers due to the person he is and was not a fan of his appointment in the first place, it felt like when Sven was appointment. Granted that first year from Feb 2019 to the end of the year things were going very well so I was able to bury my feelings about him and enjoy the performances. Let’s not pretend though that covid was the reason we lost out of top 4, we had started the slide from the Christmas before and lost games such as Southampton at home and Norwich away. Could the 4-0 win over Villa on the eve of covid have been a turning point? Maybe, and yes teams did get players back in the break but we had already undone a lot of our work by then. That first game back against Watford was a perfect sign of what was coming, a set piece goal, in the last minute, a minute or so after scoring to go ahead, that basically sums up what we’ve seen for the last year or so no? So yes, although I only read this forum and didn’t post until recently, at the end of that season was when I first had doubts and thought he wouldn’t take us forward. I understood they wouldn’t change him so soon and didn’t expect them to. The next season we started well and had some particularly good games such as Man City, Leeds and Arsenal away and he has dined off those with many people. Sure enough, we folded again and repeated the feat of collapsing. At the end of the season 2020/21 I definitely wanted him out and that hasn’t changed despite the FA cup win as that was not on him apart from playing strong sides in early rounds to give him credit for that. From the start of last season it has been a shambles. I recall saying to a Newcastle supporting mate last October before they got Howe, I hope they would take Rodgers as within 3 years if he stays we will go down. Genuinely what I said at the time. With the benefit of hindsight, no I did not expect it to go so badly so quickly or for him to so publicly turn on the club. I have seen others such as @The Year Of The Foxand @filbertwayget vilified for being amongst the earliest to turn on BR. They were accused of being entitled. Maybe just maybe they could see the warning signs early and we’re not afraid to call them at the time?
  12. Interesting point, I personally never had any doubts over the future running of the club after that night in October 2018. It was all about the sadness and loss. Looking back, it seems more and more that Vichai was the one who knew what he was doing and since he has gone, we’ve slowly fallen apart….
  13. Will be interesting to see if he could be good again under a new manager as sadly for a good couple of years now whether through injury or being generally shit, he is a waste of a squad place.
  14. The worst thing is the next game being Forest but can’t see the board sacking him after an away loss at a strong Spurs side. Which means then a defeat at home to a Forest side who have just lost back to back home games against the sides that also came up Then it is too late bringing a new manager in without time ahead of that favourable run of games…. Good luck to them filling an expanded ground with the feeling of the fans towards the club right now. As someone with a child on the way imminently, in the next few years, should they want to start going to watch football it will be our local side (Rotherham) not Leicester.
  15. The signings thing is frustrating. There are so many young talents in the championship and even league one. Not every signing has to cost £25mill and 70/80k pw wages but that seems to be the way the club wants to operate now rather than in the way we got where we were in the first place. Sadly the board and Top in particular are going to become increasingly under pressure. Is Top ready for that? Does he think that he is exempt from criticism from the fans due to the past?
  16. I wonder if the last bit is the key, it being the start of the season. Maybe the board just have their heads in the sand thinking how much time there is to turn it around but it’s one game less by the week. It’s sad that realistic supporters are now of the mindset finishing 17th on GD would be an achievement! Then again, Shakespeare went early in the season so they have shown they will as oppose to Ranieri and Puel in the new year. Shakespeare was also no where near as bad as Rodgers but possible the board felt pressured into giving him the gig full time and were waiting to replace him whereas they seem obsessed with Rodgers. It’s well and truly become a case of one man (wrongly) being treated like he is bigger than the club….
  17. Only had a chance to listen to part of that interview linked a few pages page yesterday. Good on Bourne and whoever the one after him was got to the point as well. BR looked properly rattled though!
  18. Completely unfair on Thomas to say worst 5 or 6. Under a semi-competent manager he would be a very useful player. The link up with Barnes when they have not been in poor form was excellent, add KDH in on the left side that’s what we want to see, academy produced talent. Rodgers could make prime Fuchs would look shit to be fair.
  19. Where to start with the bullshit in this post…. No worse than our start in the first season back after promotion. Ok….let’s look at the equivalent first 6 games. 8 points including a 5-3 win over Man Utd, draw with a strong Arsenal side, a gritty win away at a then solid premier league outfit in Stoke who were particularly strong at home and a draw with a then stronger version of Everton in our first game. 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats including away at Chelsea who won the league that season! I shouldn’t have to point this out but 8 is significantly better than 1!!! We also had a less expensively assembled squad and a manager and players who would fight for the cause. Not comparable in the slightest and the fact you have compared the two shows it is your perspective that is off… As for the ‘brief poor run of form’. I don’t even know where to start with that as it has been so extensively discussed across various threads. You clearly do not watch the games or have any kind of context other than looking at the table so we should leave that one at that.
  20. Could make a strong argument for any of the following; Mahrez - missing link on the right, goals and assists. Kante - the midfield likes to part like the red sea nowadays and we saw what a difference the little guy made. He would make it more difficult for the opposition to get the many free shots from outside the box after strolling through the midfield. Big Wes/Huth - Hard to separate but with Ward in goal Wes’s rear end could be helpful! Either of them would add much needed leadership and defensive desire from open play and set pieces.
  21. Couldn’t have put it better, especially the mental block winning games. This is why I think we will not win again under him no matter how long he is left purely as we have tried all ways to win and blow it. Also agree re the personality of the manager showing through which is why I think we’ll be ok if we bin him and get someone in with a winning mentality and positive attitude.
  22. I think the Big Nige (God)’s heading of the imaginary ball as the corner came over made it even better! That was a great season. Shows how having a team with grit and desire you can be proud of in League One pisses all over Brendan Ball in the Prem!
  23. This is the one that jumps out to me as well. At the time, not knowing what would come in the future it is the best memory I have of how it felt at the time!
  24. I can just picture it, like the unpopular kid at school who tries to cosy up to the new kid to form a friendship before the new kid realises their unpopularity/what a loser they are!
  25. That would not be a protest, it would be supporters of a club who think they are holier than thou behaving like attention seeking children.
