That’s what Faes brings you…
-
We lack pace and energy. Ayew playing as striker doesn’t help us. I wonder how we’d look if in the second half we had Winks James Fatawu Ayew Monga Carranza
-
Oh it’s a great thing don’t get me wrong. We already have 2 goals from him this season. Just making sure it’s not every time from a predictability point of view. That said there needs to be options.
-
Great work by Fatawu to get up the pitch. I do think he needs to be less predictable in terms of always cutting in and taking the shot.
-
I hoped he would but I don’t buy it is injuries and fitness. I just think he isn’t fancied so I’m just hoping he gets a move elsewhere where he can thrive and do well. It’s a shame when academy players don’t make it.
-
If he isn’t good enough now, he’s never going to make it for us. And if that’s the case fine, but he needs to be sold in January to at least earn some profit and move on.
-
I didn’t comment on who is better now. I said they are fine for now but aren’t good enough for the Premier League and neither will Nelson now (with us). My issue is us tossing away such a prospect in the interests of such short termism.
-
You’re not speaking for everybody there!
-
There’s no pressure on him to play him that’s the problem. Even most of our fans prefer Faes and Vestergaard. Bizarre! I agree about the future side. Maybe we can get promoted with these two playing but we will be straight back down unless we sign two new centre backs!
-
Hardly surprising when he never gets to play!
-
Uninspiring. So many in the squad that should just still not be here. Nelson needs to be pushing to be away from here permanently come January. If he isn’t, he’s an idiot. Seems like Page is back out now as well.
-
I think Ricardo will, he was before wasn’t he. Just rotating him but as he was off the bench last week, I think he will start. James might as well. Can’t see Carranza start but would be good to see him come on at some stage.
-
It all depends if the wages are ones we could sell him. That was the problem with Choudhury. Even then Sheff Utd were potentially winning that play off final from signing him.
-
Clearly a joke Probably as much taking the piss out of our own fans playing it down as anything!

I’d agree with this. I very much dislike Forest being from NWL. They are just a vile club with a fan base to match. Cov and Derby no doubt have their moronic element but are good fan bases who have stuck by during very troubled times. I’ll give Cov and the fact they had barely any a few years ago that seem to have grown now, the benefit of the doubt that it was due to protesting against the SISU ownership and having to play in Birmingham/Northampton as it’s not like they didn’t have good support in the past. You’re right about Derby but not even sure there’s a cross section who are really bothered now. I was from as close as possible to Derby whilst being in Leicestershire. I went to school and played football in Castle Donington with loads of Derby supporters. Yeah it was fun to win when we play but they are just a ‘nice’ fan base who it’s hard to dislike. I know I said they must have moronic element above but I have not seen it even through those I know or otherwise.

This is it for me. I am from N/W Leicestershire, Donington way. I don’t know any Cov fans and genuinely, it didn’t register for me as a big game previously. But we are in a more digital world where you see things from other supporters without needing to know them and following us coming down a couple of years ago, I saw that for many of our fans it is a much bigger game and how gobby Cov fans can be. So although it doesn’t mean as much to me directly (in that I don’t have Cov fans to go into work to), I want us to win as it does matter still. It all seems very ‘Forest’ to be honest.

Can’t agree with this.collectively I think our supporters are about the most self deprecating out there. Despite our achievements over the last decade, many are still determined for us to be ‘little old Leicester’. Hey, many seem to think League 1 is our rightful place which is odd given we have spent one season there since 1884 Visiting supporters are also, on the whole, made very welcome on here, particularly dare I say it, compared to your own forum. We have regular contributors from many clubs, such as Watford, Wolves, Burnley, Notts County to name a few. Yes, there will always be a few bites but I haven’t seen anything much back in your direction to be fair. Anyway, I’m personally worried about the game. You have built as strong a side as you have had in a long time and we are still a mixed bag. We have some talented players but also some very average ones. What Cifuentes has done is seemed to have got them on side and battling harder as going into the season, I was thinking a lack of effort would be our downfall. But we still look disjointed. I suspect we will get stronger but this might come too soon. We lack a proper striker as well unless the new guy Carranza turns out to be good.

Here for the meltdown Hopefully low wages. He’s not a bad character who needs removing from the club. I think my concern is more his suitability for Marti’s system. 4 years is a bit misleading as it’s 3 additional. As others have said, he would leave for free otherwise as we can surely get something in a year or so for him. Possibly a bit like Ndidi.
-
Re Sheffield United, is it healthy to keep going back to Wilder. Even though he is a fan, surely he has pride too. How many times can you be sacked and keep going back? Even though Selles hasn’t worked, there’s other managers out there. I think if it was us going back to the same manager time and time again, I’d be feeling a lack of confidence in the club.
-
Not sure ball winner is his role to be fair!
-
Too early to be getting on his back, he’s a young keeper having his first proper run. I do think some people convinced themselves Hermansen was the second coming (how’s that going West Ham) and are determined to pick on Jakub at any opportunity to make their point. He has a strong command of his area, he is a very good shot stopper (nobody is perfect 100% of the time) and his short distribution is absolutely fine and is allowing us to do our thing. Long kicking is suspect but no worse than Kasper who we all loved. I suspect those moaning about his long kicking also think the keeper playing it long means hoooof ball anyway! On yesterday, I put that on the defence who were poor (but will still have their shirts next week as they are untouchable and exempt from criticism apparently). First goal, no challenge from Okoli to the header, then standing off and blocking Stolarcryk’s view. Yes you’d hope he could put it further from harms way. Then the defence nowhere to be seen as Oxford follow up. On the follow up, Stolarcryk did what he could be narrowing the angle for the initial Oxford player who got to it (Helik who got the assist). Second goal, the ball completely changed direction so it was just down to the defending from the corner. It was Fatawu who lost his man I think? Either way to compare that to Ward flopping around on the floor is laughable.

I think you’re right. Perhaps we are viewing it wrong and need to just see them succeeding on loan as an opportunity to bring some revenue in. Alves for example, come the summer, will have 2 years left. Best option is to look for a sale if he is coming off the back of a strong season in league one. I have said the same about Nelson as he will only have a year left in the summer so maybe try to sell on in January. Its a shame as I, like you, want to see them break through and succeed but sometimes you can just tell very early (example being that Rodgers was taking us down and needed to go) and I have a similar certainty that I did early with that about Nelson and Alves in that sadly, I think their time here is done.
-
Good to see that people are recognising the efforts of Okoli and Vestergaard in these line ups…! The 45 minutes and banished still only applying to one player.
-
Personally I don’t have too much of an issue with selections. The centre midfield is poor but until James has come in, options are limited with Winks being a want away during the window (supposedly). Ayew is not a good striker. He has good qualities but I think he is much better deeper. But the only alternative has been Daka until deadline day. Monga and Page are fine. Monga seems better affecting the game from the bench than starting. He is getting plenty of minutes apart from today. Page started the last couple so can’t do much more. My only real issue is centre back and the exclusion of Nelson based on one poor first half against Huddersfield. Watching Okoli not challenge in the build up to their first goal today and Vestergaard doing Vesty things, well, if Nelson is so much worse than them, just flog him to any buyer in January because he has no future with us if that’s the case!

Is it that or just that a lot of our players are actually rubbish though
