Was it a nasty question? I bet it was.

Seems to me what started as a celebration for the community has indeed turned into a celebration of the community which is now used by companies to show how wonderful they are so they don't look out of place with modern society and hence put off potential employees. So yes certainly an element of virtue signalling. I think though if done right and with the community it can genuinely help your employees feel more welcome in their workplace, and that is important.

I can only assume our accounting team have concluded we would need to take an accrual in this years accounts for the balance of his contract, which is likely not affordable under PSR. So they want to delay. I am sure Ruud is well aware of the outcome.

An excellent article, which also explains why not having guns on your person or indeed readily available to grab reduces the gun related deaths stat so much. Knives also kill, but getting up close and personal to someone, especially if they are running away is a lot harder imo. On the point of "informal social control" I was talking about this the other day with a friend - the benefit of a small cafe opening on the corner, of an arts & craft co-op market opening in an empty shop. Suddenly people care about the area, there are people around and it becomes less scary to be there. As a direct result crime drops and interactions - even ones which might have resulted in a violent crime in the past - become a few words and get ignored, or others step in.

Lets be honest everyone is for sale, good luck to him. If we can get a premier league signing off the books without a PSR loss we should be doing so.

Some jobs are essential. How are we going to perform if we have a shit pitch?

I'm not sure Trump is killing them just yet.

At this point what credibility would anything that Russia leaked really have? If you can't tell AI fake news from real news, then it loses its power.

These stories are so dull. His PA made a mistake. It’s not news. Like the stupid stories about rich execs claiming their tube fares.

Oh good. A thirty something Southampton reject? Here are the current contract lengths left on Saints first team players... June 2025 Kyle Walker-Peters, Joe Lumley, Adam Lallana.

i think perhaps they knew very well and have stayed out of the country as a result. Might as well put the pressure on then.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if the whole thing was an attempt to look tough to be honest. Poor leaders do stupid things. Agreed this is an example of poor culture, but not necessarily from the players.

Snazzy e-ink price labels and they still manage to get it wrong. Who codes this shit?

"Move fast, break things" in action. In theory they learn ,more this way, lets hope they are sensible enough to pull back to safety when they put people in them to the moon.

Can anyone see any benefit whatsoever to KP owning OH Leuven as well as us? Anyone?
-
Versus our expectations yes, but 3 teams get relegated every year, so nothing out of the ordinary here.
-
No thanks, rather see us in League 1 for the rest of time.

Not if my wife was struggling and needed me at home. And LCFC are not going down the shitter are they? Not like his salary in on the line here.

Yeah I think it is easy to say from afar, but all those countries have their issues, and many have been a lot more resistant to migration that the UK has. Australia for a start is definitely not more open minded than the UK. Not even close.

Hmm. Germany which gave 20% of the vote to AfD? France with La Pen? Are you sure?
-
I actually think he is probably not that far off with this point. Certainly, of the larger nations the UK is pretty good. What nation do you think beats us here?

it is one thing to instil discipline, and another to demand something which is contrary to the players contract. If they are not required by contract to stay at Seagrave, they cannot be compelled to do so. Imagine your boss telling you to stay at your workplace once a week. Its something which has to be agreed upfront imo. Blown out of proportion.

Not every awful crime is terrorism. It would require both planning AND a political angle. This looks like an idiot who had a few drinks, drove the wrong way and managed to pick a fight with a whole crowd leading to an awful outcome.

Looks like he was drunk. Times suggested as much.
