  1. How does a flag pole with the rope inside the pole hoist the flag? Got it, one line to raise the flag which goes inside the pole once up, with a weighted loop at the bottom. Never thought about that before, although I was funnily enough talking about rusty flagpoles at one of our work sites yesterday.
  2. My money is on Friday 4th July.
  3. I don’t recall the leaders of the US basically telling the world they will nuke another country for 40 years as soon as they have the capability though?
  4. I’ll think they’ll wait a few days personally to be able to show the decision was made in July.
  5. No, Enzo left before a ball was kicked, he didn’t keep us up.
  6. They are already in a very strong place.
  7. Worth noting the Force Majeure is not for all airports, only the tourism focused regional ones. Its quite possible losing them would improve their overall profitability, focusing on those which are making money.
  8. Trump leaving the G7 early to talk to his national security team. Doesn't bode well for anyone currently spending their time in those deep nuclear storage facilities in Iran.
  9. I fly quite a lot, and you do start to appreciate that priority check-in, fast track security, airline lounges, priority boarding and meet and greet taxi pick up are not perks but more benefits to reduce the stress of it all. I still find flying with the family a bit more stressful than alone.
  10. Why are they pretending Oceania - literally a bunch of small relatively low population islands where football isn't even the main sport - should have a place in this competition? Nuts.
  11. NIMBYs, planning rules, environmental concerns, legal challenges to every decision. We have put in place structures to enable those against to block literally anything.
  12. I think he played a huge part in my generation's awareness of the beauty and fragility of the world of nature.
  13. Yes its awful. The only positive I can find in that is I would rather not be left behind if my wife and kids where on that plane.
  14. I can't recall a crash involving so many British nationals or residents in my lifetime. Such sad stories.
  15. Chances are the whole plane either live in the uk or are visiting their immediate family who do. Awful for the whole British Indian community.
  16. I can tell you the headlight on the Discovery 4 is at least twice the size of the focus once, having owned both. Don't get me started on the cost of the bloody zenon lightbulbs. Landrovers are not and never have been a car for people who cannot afford a decent wedge a year on maintenance. Also don't get me started on the sodding Ford 2.0 Ingenium engine and its timing chain which appears to be made of Lego. Lego made of platinum.
  17. Indeed, although I think increasingly the majority are aligned on the first and apathetic on the second.
  18. Agreed. I've been doing really well not to argue about some topics recently too
  19. I can confirm that if they announced it, that would indeed trigger the financial provision they are seemingly trying to avoid.
  20. Farage the multimillionaire banker, with an international career, a German (ex)wife, multiple property owner, media earnings 12 times as much from his media role at GB News as from his role as an MP fighting against the elite basically sums up Reform.
  21. I admire your optimism, but I don't believe he would recognise that lesson if it sat him down and punched him in the face repeatedly.
  22. I put my foot through the floor of my sisters Mini Clubman once. Fortunately, I was just getting in so we weren't moving.
  23. You have admire the chutzpah of the man. It is next level.
  24. I'm still driving my 2010 Discovery 4 as there is no reasonable replacement.
