It’s clever from Marti, none of us see training day to day so we can’t comment on how he’s been training - My guess is Nelson’s been training at a similar level to everyone else Marti just has been told he has to play Faes/Vestegaard etc. from above so we can try and shift them on If he’d said anything like ‘selection/tactical decision’ he’d have been crucified!

The silence from OPA and anyone media related regarding Nelson has been bizzare! He gave him the armband in pre-season and he looked a shoe in to start majority of games this season I wouldn’t be as confused if we were top or pushing up there with clean sheets etc. but it was 1 win in 9 before last night Hopefully now he’ll be a mainstay in the back 4

Yeah agreed, throw ins are one of a number of areas that need improvement, so predictable and most of the time it’s a 1-2 with the midfielder to then clip it down the line and lose it

We can’t retain the ball anywhere near their final third so we’re having to defend for 65/70 minutes of games Lapses of concentration/poor decision making is costing us big time But that should’ve been a consultation for Boro last night, not because we deserved to be 2-0 up in the game ( because we didn’t) , but because most other teams in this league would’ve been - We spent 45 minutes time wasting, poorly managing the game and holding onto a lead hoping to see out a 1-0 The mentality is horrific!

The most solid defensively we’ve looked for a while in my opinion But going forwards were toothless, I can’t picture how we score goals under Marti, Hopefully now the game opens up a bit and we can bring our subs on to take advantage of that and get a second 🤞🏻

Daka scored 4 away at Spartak as part of a front 2 with Kelechi Maybe he needs partner to create space for him with their movement - Carranza seems to have good movement and makes decent runs which could free up space for Daka Massively clutching at straws but this is all I’ve got

The only thing I can think re the clapping is clapping individuals - I always found it tough last season when Vardy came round clapping regardless of how he’d played - it was more of an appreciation for what he’d done Clapping for a few of these I can sort of understand but I also think it’s a terrible look when you consider the abject performances being served up week after week

But the manager I’m unconvinced by, hate how he bangs on about this ‘outstanding’ youth academy being one of the selling points to come here and then neglects them ( so far) Has got 75% of the starting elevens wrong this season, tbf to him early on in the season his substitutes were hitting the money, but recently they’ve been abysmal and we look to have been found out Tomorrows a huge game for him, against a team that will be down there with us if we get slapped with a heavy points deduction

2 relegations in 3 season with most of the same players who can’t dig in and ground out results, a fanbase that are at the point of acceptance/apathy -8+ deducted and we’re down

One of the only ways that you get any excitement back into this football club anytime soon is to put your faith in Kingy and blood the young lads! This is beyond poor, no style just pure hit and hope football - we’ve got to be the most underperforming side in championship history ( wage bill to performances)

I think the money doesn’t come from anywhere tbh Academy lads Free Agents Premier League loans And the odd outlay for proven championship players That’s where the success of Pearson’s 2013/14 side came from Will also allow the fanbase to reconnect and relate to the players again!

Aluko is the one exclusion that really baffles me! He played and trained with seniors all of pre- season ✅ U21’s captain ✅ England U20’s ✅ The players in his positions aren’t good enough and we all know they never will be ✅ Absolute no brainer to involve him moving forwards! The ceiling of what’s playing instead of him is incredibly low and always will be, Aluko could be our next Barnes, KDH every present academy lad if he gets an opportunity

Thought Josh Knight looked good for Pompey yesterday, not necessarily one that got away but always good to see our academy lads going on to have good careers

Not to mention getting searched on the way in (East Stand near the kop) Security all around the pitch on 85 minutes for no reason And traffic bollards outside GoKidsGo delaying everyone on the way back to Aylestone Lane/Saffron Road for no reason! Just little things that wind fans up, but they don’t care

Doubled up on for 60 minutes whilst Thomas stands and watches him The modern way of playing has ruined wingers - inverted full backs not overlapping or CB’s at full back Frustrating!

If lads like Louie Page, Ben Nelson, Monga, Alves, Aluko were putting in these performances then I’d be a little more positive about the whole situation ‘Young lads getting minutes, learning the game’ It’s the fact that it’s these players, the same players that have been culpable for 2 relegations in 3 season, these players on ridiculous money ( not their fault) these players that I can’t relate to as a fan in the stands, can’t support and can’t wait to move on! ‘A fantastic academy’ Use it Marti!
