  1. was in Switzerland last week. Ridiculous prices for everything. 40 EUR for a basic burger and chips. 8 EUR for a bottle of water at Basel Airport. For that reason alone I hope we batter them!
  2. Some new info on the forthcoming FM25 - Premier League licenses - Touchline shouts are gone - Womens football included in one ecosystem along with mens - New UI - Inbox replaced with Portal
  3. a got a million problems but someone tapping a folded up bit of cardboard ain't one of them
  4. https://admiralcloudberg.medium.com/ Thanks for the tip on this - some good reading here to keep me occupied for a while!
  5. Good article here too about Swissair 111 (1998) https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/a1115/long-fall-one-eleven-heavy-0700/
  6. How a perfectly functionaly aircraft with 228 souls on board was flown into the ocean by it's pilots who didn't realise the nose was pitched up in a stall.
  7. always been fascinated by air accidents. Have consumed most of the videos and read a lot of the reports of many crashes over the years. In fact I probably have morbid fascination with disasters and accidents in general - which I put down to my time growing up in the 80's. Thankfully we live in time now where such disasters are very rare but in those few short years of the mid to late 80's there seemed to be something awful happening all the time. These are just off the top of my head - and all in the space of 4 years I think! Heysel Stadium Valley Parade Kings Cross Fire Hillsborough Lockerbie Kegworth Air Crash Herald of Free Enterprise capsize Chernobyl Exxon Valdez Mexico City earthquake JAL 123 crash Manchester Airport crash Air India bombing Challenger disaster
  8. This. He was an absolute breath of fresh air at the time. I absolutely loved him and followed his career after his spell at Filbo. Very sad day for his family and friends
  9. I think that is true, or maybe at least it used to be, but if you look at the last 20 years or so, the "lesser" sides have had virtually no success in the League Cup. Aside from Swansea in 2013 and Birmingham (2011), and a few plucky finalists, it has been dominated by the big clubs in recent years, with or without any seeding.
  10. at the end of the day it's a job - albeit a very well paid one. How many of us would be "loyal" to our employer if another company was offering more money, better prospects etc?
  11. Reasonable chance that if Enzo stays then he gets sacked by the time the clocks go back so we're maybe ahead of the curve - getting a new manager and £10M in the bank rather than having to pay up his contract.
  12. I'd love to VAR binned, but I don't think the clubs will vote to do so. All those clubs who vote to keep it should be permanently banned from moaning about VAR ever again!
  13. hadn't seen anything about this? Seems a strange decision. I thought they were redeveloping the old Main Stand at City Ground?
  14. I wasn't expecting a parade and had planned to be away Sunday,. But my son wants to go so I've cancelled plans and we will be there. He might be my age the next time we win something so got to make to most of it!
  15. Every ticket I've purchased in the last couple of years (off the top of my head - train, England matches at Wembley and in Dublin, concert tickets, flights, airport lounges etc etc) have all been e tickets. personally I would prefer a card, but it's not a deal breaker (for me). Certainly won't be paying for one.
  16. Still playing now at age 45!
  17. Kevin Ellison One sub appearance at Old Trafford I think - 2001? (I was there!)
  18. So far ahead as out GOAT it's not even close It's Vards, then a massive, massive gulf to the second best
  19. sadly, this is the best "offer" I have at the moment but I don't have any tequila
  20. Fancy Luton to win Euro 2024 now...
  21. it will certainly go down as a classic FA Cup moment I'd say. Petty rivalries aside, it was an incredible comeback and they so nearly pulled it off. Definitely one of the more memorable semi finals of recent times
  22. i *think* they stopped having the annual service after the Hillsborough verdicts were finally delivered (2017) - or maybe after the 30th anniversary? Either way - I think they felt it was no longer necessary to keep it front and center after the Hillsborough Independent Panel delivered the unlawfully killed verdict.
  23. I was at the game. Played very well and a bit unlucky to lose it. The Spurs fans I chatted to afterwards broadly agreed. Spurs stadium is pretty good, right? And the beer is cheaper than ours!
