Where half the games this season have been on TV anyway and weekend trips to Plymouth and Pompey get moved to Friday nights for a laugh.

Will you go to any more matches this season?
iancognito replied to hejammy's topic in Leicester City Forum
Yes for the social aspect more than anything. Although having left before United even finished celebrating their 3rd the other night, I'm no longer committed to staying till the bitter end. I was happy to stop there for the sake of just wanting to boo these utter mercenaries but it makes no difference other than to get me wound up by their attitude. -
When did you first realise we don't have good owners?
iancognito replied to Gamble92's topic in Leicester City Forum
They would have been accepted the same as Mahrez, Kante, Drinkwater, Maguire and the rest. Everyone knew our policy, we were all comfortable with selling players who had done their best for us for massively inflated fees to idiot top 6 clubs with no scouting network. We may not have made as much from those two in particular but it would have been better than giving Youri away for nothing. It was that shit or bust policy that led to us being unable to spend for three windows running and that led to relegation. We went down because of that change in recruitment policy made by the people at the top. Maybe Top got greedy, maybe Rudkin made a bad call, maybe Rodgers convinced them he could get Europe if we didn't sell, maybe collectively they all just decided it was worth the gamble. But whatever happened, the people running the club made poor decisions that led to relegation. -
Pretty much where I am. If Rudkin and/or Whelan are replaced in the summer, there's no reason to lose King Power at all. Certainly don't agree with all their decisions or the creepy on-pitch family circus at the end of every season but a plane banner would be better aimed at the board and Rudkin rather than the family. Odd call to change it after the donations started too.

Then you re-invest like we used to do. Sell one big name, buy 3 more. The lack of investment came about because they decided on a shit or bust strategy. I'm pretty sure Top even mentioned this in either programme notes or wome sort of press release. Since the initial overspend under Sven KP have never bankrolled player transfers at this club. Our net spend since the Pearson promotion has been very low. By not selling Tielemans or even Maddison in 2021/22 and extending the deals of squad players we buggered up our next two or three windows and made relegation come true. Recruitment, strategy and player retention all massively screwed up soon after Vichai's death and Top being handed the reins. -

If I throw in some huge benefit of my huge doubts, Vichai had a plan, if not a dream. Get up, stay up, stabilise then build. Seagrave was part one of that and I think had the crash not interrupted everything we'd have had an extension too. Managerially, they've been all over the shop. Sacking Pearson, Sousa, Sven, pissing cash up the wall for him. Even the Shakey/Puel switcheroo was badly handled. And the last two years have been aimless. I credit their investment but they haven't put their own money into transfers, our net spend when you balance each the big sales is pretty low. -
It's just a breakaway from the original messages on the van, there's no continuity and it doesn't target or implicate the right person. Given how many have disagreed with the message I'm not so sure it's the most popular option either. King Power themselves aren't making the day to day decisions that have led us here. Big opportunity to target the board is being missed.
-
Silence throughout the match tbf. KP aren't blameless but we're highlighting the state of the club. Turning it on KP specifically let's the directors off the hook.
-
Not as keen on the King Power out message, it strays from the point and isn't as catchy. Premier Ambitions, Amateur Decisions was more punchy and about how we've fallen. King Power out completely eliminates Rudkin’s culpability and won't bring people onside. Shame if it goes that way.

Title day. Of everything the squad achieved that season, the records, the goals, the individual stories.....the chairman put himself on the cover of the programme. Every achievement since with the final day parades of 100s of Thai hangers on just leaves a circus feel around the place. -
Totally undecided. The only reason is the social aspect because the mate I sit with is the only time we actually see each other. I can cope with not seeing these mercenaries every other week but we haven't decided whether we just go game by game. The digital aspect is also a huge thing because the tickets are under his name and I don't actually exist as far as the club is concerned.

And to think Nuno was available when we were struggling under Rodgers. Plays boring defensive football apparently 😑
-
Does that apply to Coady too? Getting dropped for Wout Faes would get anyone pushing for a move 🤣 Seriously though, Bilal needs to start showing some form. Young player perhaps but his talent isn't being backed up by numbers in the last few weeks.
-
Brentford have done well out of them. Maybe they just scouted better Danes?
-
. Every single club is two bad transfer windows from relegation. We proved that two seasons ago. Look at United's plummet. Without the current gap between the Prem and Championship their demise could be far worse.
-
No. We only have to wait a short while and Rudkin's failings will see the club needing to phoenix itself from the Ryman League anyway.

TBF most of the issues covered here are in the other topics and most of the individual player threads. A lot of them are still here owing simply to the fact we pay them too much. You mention we turned down bids for Iversen but three clubs all pulled out of deals because they couldn't meet his terms - ie 50k a week. Same with Ward who even told his international manager he was prepared to gamble his squad place because of "his situation". Our horrendous wage bill is a big reason we'll continue to either breach PSR or walk the tightrope every season. And as others have mentioned, this collection or overpaid rejects and mercenaries was assembled by one man, not just just assembled in some cases actually re-signed.

Your 90 Minutes Session-Priority Points
iancognito replied to Foxes_Trust's topic in Leicester City Forum
I cannot imagine why anyone would want checks coming back at away games. That seems to go against most things you see on forums and socials where people felt targeted by it and the stewards doing the checks were on a power trip. Every time I see feedback from these meetings I'm convinced this club has lost its soul. It's becoming more and more difficult to just be a match-going fan. -
Again, you've (both) missed my point entirely. I'm not expecting people to stop going at a certain age just simply that our demographics are older than other fanbases, certainly in the away support. It's not difficult to look at the people around you and judge how old they roughly are, and whether the majority are in a certain age bracket. It's not a Yougov poll, it's an opinion you form from using your eyes. For the avoidance of doubt, I'm mid forties and have been going to aways for near on 30 years. Over the years, mainly through family priorities and work, I have gone to less and less away days, if you look around the country I think you'd generally find more away crowds being younger because the younger age brackets have less commitments, more free time, don't have health worries in a lot of cases. It's not a strange concept.

1.) Did I say they should give it up? I just said they're still there. We have a lot of older fans. Look round the King Power. There's a lot in the 50-70 bracket. They're naturally less vocal than say the 20-30 bracket. 2.) We're missing out on a lot of younger fans as they've barely been able to get a ticket in the last decade. The same 24k STHs renew, the same Priority 1, 2 and 3 bands take most of the away allocations. No new blood strangles a fanbase. And do tell, when was the atmosphere good? Seville home? Preston Away?
-
Always find it incredible at awaydays that the same faces from the 90s are still largely there. Bus 1 on Fox Travel is pretty much the same as it was the day that Martin O'Neill rocked up at Filbert Street. It's partly this that keeps us being sitters, keeps us slapping a clapper at home games and means the club could drop to the National League Northern Premier subdivision and people would still say King Power are great owners. We have the same people in the same seats over decades. Even during the League One days it was hard introducing new fans and new blood to the experience because there's a solid block of 500 or so that have never given their tickets up and - as I understand it - have their seats reserved in our allocations because of their loyalty. Until we get a reset from the club itself people will continue being sheep, the clappers will never be taken away, like kids in Primary School that still wear nappies or have dummies that never got toilet trained.
-
I could understand it if it was cheap enough but it's £11 for a bag of King Power coffee. £120 for a coat. Take the club badge off it and Adidas are selling it for half the money. The prices for a family orientated club are insane but completely in keeping with a business that doesn't like general sales, likes charging for signing sessions and thinks £25 for a piece of plastic that costs 47p to make is reasonable.

The biggest issue I have with the show is too much waffle. The reason I barely watch MOTD now is that Sky's highlights have ZERO analysis. I don't need the same thing replaying 6 times, the same old tired tropes about VAR - when it was that show that demanded we have it and chastised refs every week - and the quippy jokes about the teams the pundits are pretending to support this week. Hopefully it gets a new lease of life when Lineker is put out to pasture.
