Strange that nobody here is mentioning Cifuentes. Now West Brom have said they're not interested, I would have thought his, would be a name in the frame for us.
-
I always thought Rangers would go for Martin - and he'd been keen to go (certainly prefer them to us). He's an ex-Rangers player (admittedly only 15 games on loan in 2018) and a Scotland International (29 caps). Rangers love ex-players. For him, the attraction of European football next season, must be better than our expectations for the Championship.
-
So, we'll be coming up against some of our past players in the Championship. The most obvious tonight, is Matty James, with Wrexham (who's just had a 1 year contract extension). Also, Lewis Brunt, who's been a regular for them this season. I'm sure there be other old favourites coming back to haunt us!

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/ruud-van-nistelrooy-leicester-city-35118157 The Mirror are quoting Ben Foster, as saying he believes there is a relegation clause in RvN's contract, meaning we don't have to pay out compensation. He goes on to say RvN is very likely to pick up a new job in the Netherlands. -
Yep, I agree with most here, he's been the one (slightly) shining star of the last few games. He's stepped up to the mark and certainly looks good enough for the Championship. I hope, whoever comes in, will give him more chances.

https://foxesofleicester.com/jon-rudkin-finally-being-eased-out-at-leicester-city-report THEY say he's on his way out. Can't believe that.

9 days until the next match, so a bit of a lull - time for action !

Ben Dawson and Danny Alcock - Left the club

Or more accurately, pick up the pieces! I agree about Barry-Murphy and King being our new Championship Management team though. Hopefully, with a bit more support than RvN has had. -
That does seem the most likely scenario. As is said, its just a question of when.
-
I agree Ndidi in a back 3, but wouldn't have Skipp - I'd go with Mavididi switching between left and right (depending on which wing back is getting forward better).
-
When Wilf is fit (this week possibly?), I wonder if RvN might consider him and Okoli as a Centre Back pairing. He's done it before (pretty well) and I can't see him displacing Winks & Soumare in Central Midfield.
-
Now the Mail are reporting our interest in Mika Bireth, ex-Arsenal striker, recently bought by Monaco from Sturm Graz (11 goals in 16 appearances for them). This would be a summer deal. We must be scouting loads in Austria!
-
The Mail are reporting that Leeds and us are in for Adam Daghim, Salzburg (and Danish U21) winger. Man U were looking at him, but that's unlikely.

https://insidefutbol.com/2025/01/21/ipswich-and-leicester-boosted-as-brighton-have-transfer-preference/671302/ A Paraguayan attacking midfielder. Can't see that as a priority. And as it would be a loan, it would only happen if Edouard goes.

Pretty much agree with all that, Tomo -
With Andy King as his Assistant?

Odsonne Edouard joins on loan - Official

https://www.skysports.com/transfer/news/12691/12476234/transfer-centre-live-football-transfers-news-updates-and-rumours?postid=8937017#liveblog-body Obviously, Eduoard is cheaper! American (old fashioned - non-Trump!) common sense will prevail! -
Completely agree with you, infinitely better as an attacking player. On this performance, would keep his place, on the right wing, in front of a new right back.
-
If Buanonotte is going back, as part of a deal to get someone in, I would prefer it to be a defender. I think they have a couple of full backs who they might be willing to let go. Lamptey is one (though I can't believe they'd sell him cheap, or loan him), but there was another young guy being talked about on here a month or so ago (I can't find the links now?).

I see I and one other FT'er, are being quoted on the Leicester City News site, as, "many Leicester fans are calling for Brandon Cover to be recalled from his loan at Port Vale, to replace James Justin". It's amazing how a couple of simple posts, become a 'big call from City fans'! You'll know that the suggestion was pretty much pooh pooed by most on here - which I wasnt surprised about, they were fair criticisms!
-
You'll know Martyn Glover was Head of Recruitment at Southampton before coming to us, his first signing for them was Walker-Peters! Lightning MIGHT strike twice - though I don't think Glover and lightning often come together!
-
As well as the possibility of Cannon being recalled from loan, I wonder if there's a strong case for Cover to come back. He's been having a great season with Port Vale, regularly playing as their right wing back. He's doing well in a position that desperately needs strengthening.
-
I agree about recalling Cannon (assuming we can - Souttar had a clause saying we couldn't, as he'd played so many games). If Spurs ARE bidding whats reported, there is no way Brighton will turn that down. I'm sure the reason we didn't start him recently, is cos Brighton wanted him back and didn't like him risking injury (we must have insisted, for the Man City game!).
-
Interesting that Feguson isn't in the Brighton squad at all tonight. As far as I know, he isn't injured or suspended. On his way out? On his way to us?!
