Plenty of good managers have failed to either qualify or get out of the group stages at major tournaments including Bobby Robson, Glenn Hoddle and Roy Hodgson. All had good squads. Southgate's only real weakness at International football is his coaching in the later stages against other top teams, for the reasons I previously suggested.

Watched The Holdovers last night which I enjoyed. Not sure it was worth a Supporting Oscar for the woman, but then again plenty get nominated for not too much nowadays.
-
Thing is, Southgate is one of the best England managers for years in terms of results. We breeze through qualifying and regularly get to knockout stages of tournaments under him. He's just gets found out at a bit higher level of coaching. Often a bit safe in games, can go unnecessarily defensive, and doesn't adjust mid-game tactics to be a top level coach.

They showed the lines for the first pass. He was onside.
-
Left back playing him on.

From what I remember of the conversation it isn't current ranking but based on the two year list and the results from that period. But having just looked that up I could be talking rubbish.
-
Strange. He'd already said on Hendry's YouTube channel that he'd have to qualify, which was a couple of weeks ago now. Said Higgins would need to qualify too.

League One & Two - 2023-2024 Season
The Bear replied to Wymsey's topic in General Football and Sport
I watched about 20 mins of the second half and it was a genuinely dreadful game with zero quality. -
How does Chilwell have so much time running on to a free ball and still make such a dreadful connection?
-
Oh well. My own fault for picking the useless sheep shaggers. Their fans saying it's probably their worst performance of the season
-
I have a mate selling them for £20 on Facebook. Not sure if they're genuine or not as he knows someone fairly high up at St George's Park
-
Well that didn't take long. 3 accas today and all 3 outsiders have scored first and been frozen in the first 15 mins - Oxford City 8/1, Inverness 6/1, Colchester 5.25/1) Just got to hope the other bankers come in as they are all the same four fixtures for all three accas (Barnet, Chesterfield, Derby, Willem II). Not overly confident in Derby tbh.

These days you're either a right wing racist nazi, or a lefty woke snowflake. No in between.

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
The Bear replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
They've spent £35m up to now on MGW from us. £25m initial and £5m each for appearances and then staying up. The rest of the addons are pie in the sky never happen stuff. He still has £25m book value after two years of amortisation (£5m per season) So they need to sell him for £25m or more to make any profit for FFP purposes. I can't see any club that can afford £30m+ on one player who would need him. -
There are plenty of Indian restaurants and food takeaway places along the main strip just next to Wembley. I'd be going to one of those rather than one of the overpriced vans around the stadium or along Wembley Way.

Agreed. I said the other day the transfer window should be changed to reflect any FFP deadline. That or vice versa. -

That means they were allowed to only lose £35m this season. They signed 34 payers for £200m plus but the fees would have been amortised. Their net transfer spend was around - £50m. -
Looking at the top 3's remaining fixtures I'd say Leicester/Ipswich would be my top 2. Leeds have the toughest run in IMO and are due a slight downturn in form when they hit those fixtures. It should be enough as long as you start winning again and don't do anything silly, which you shouldn't. You've had your dip in form now same as Ipswich did at the turn of the year. Leeds turn is coming.

willy pullers. Some teams are just inconsiderate.

No-one invented electricity. They discovered it.

Nice one. Though you know you only have to have 5 legs. You obviously get a bigger return with more, but more chance of one of them letting you down. If you have more than 4 banker picks then you can mix and match them in other 5 fold accas so one team doesn't ruin all of them.

When I got restricted at Paddy Power it's because I was making bets with stupid random stakes like £17.46. They were calculated for Matched Betting purposes so we're pretty obvious. That and any consistent winning on a particular offer or market I'd imagine is a flag for them too. Mine was 14up on the NFL. I only bet witht hem on that market, and with silly random stakes it looked pretty obvious. That's why I always make sure to have some regular accas on Skybet as well.
-
Tbh three big prices up in one day is dreamland. £210 back from £9, and I bottled another £40-50 by cashing out. £20 stakes on those three would have netted about £1400 without cashing out. Surely that would red flag you instantly on their system. Just looked at my stats since starting on 1st March - 45 accas, 10 of them frozen, 7 winners. £70 staked, £320 back. Not bad for 16 days.
-
Oh my. Anderlecht concede on 79 mins to Kortrijk and I can't freeze it as I've already used 5 this week I bottle it again and cash out before full time and any possible late gut wrencher. I think Sky suspend games in injury time too so didn't want that to happen. Safe to say it's been a VERY good day!
