I'm in the Caribbean on holiday just now, and seeing a bit of USA telly. Their adverts are utterly unhinged. "Hey punters, we are a Big Pharma co but we are showing you some insanely bad acting and cartoons, to make you forget that this is a BLEDDY ADVERT FOR SODDING MEDICINE. Now we are telling you it "may assist" with some medical problem (shouldn't that be for a doctor to decide?), before listing all the nasty possible side effect, but in a speeded up voice (mayresultinnauseavomitingrectalbleedinganddeath), so you don't sue us." Bonkers late stage capitalism.

Good to see Rehan Ahmed in there. Hope he gets a go and gives it some. -

Rodgers dropping him for his 150th consecutive game was just so petty. Sums up the last 2 years of Rodgers' tenure perfectly.

I missed this thread the first time around, and whilst Cold War stuff is totally my bag (I lived in Eastern Germany just after reunification and they told me a lot of quite chilling things about Soviet Communism / The Stasi, etc) and I'll look your tome up, I principally came into this thread to bemoan the lack of further literary/Leicester City references, after a couple of guys had a go earlier in the thread. Shame, could have been quite the thread. I would have gone for Nineteen Eighty FOUR NIL AGAINST PLYMOUTH (topical ) Brave New WORLDIE BY IZZET AGAINST GRIMSBY Pride and PrejuDIKOV

Yeah. Not going great. And we are about to have another rain break, by the looks of it. -

Thing is, Arteta mucking his keepers about has destroyed both their levels of confidence. Opponents know this and will have a pop more often from distance. Like Barkley did. So it's poor management that is hurting his own team.

Jannik's celebration in the background as the behind the goal camera showed winks celebrating was quite something. Strong contender for POTS so far.

They just announced next weeks Saturday lunchtime fixture on BT/TNT - Palace v Liverpool, it's the Hodgson derby, the Woy-al Rumble.

You would expect England to get out of that group. But then again, I expected us to beat Iceland in 2016, and Scotland in 2021, so who knows

Chris Sutton saying England are favourites - might as well book their flights home for straight after the group stages.

I can't believe there have been so many people in the match thread and post-match, criticising the decision to send on Casadei for Wilf Ndidi . Wilf is coming back from an injury and is being eased back into form. As could be seen today, it's working and he's improving. Needing to try and replace an attacking midfielder, I'm not sure what else Enzo is going to do, there?

That lasted long

For 10 minutes before we scored, including when we scored, Wilf Ndidi was a class above. The commentators have a lot of faults, but they spotted his class up top. I know replacing him with Casadei isn't ideal, but he is still coming back from injury.

Can we swap the Hinchcliff co-comms for graphics and replays?

I'm sorry, but Jamie Vardy has to play, even though he's 36, nearly 37, and played the end of the Watford game and the whole of the game tonight. He nearly always scores at The Hawthorns, especially when we need him to. He's done his best noising up of opposition fans at The Hawthorns. Ear cups at the ready. Kalechi Iheanacho has been been struggling. Jamie Vardy had a barren night in Sheffield tonight, but at least JV looks like he can be arsed. Unlike Kalechi of late. Cannon is untried and I can't believe people are suggesting he starts. If it isn't working, maybe Jamie can punch himself hard in the face. C'mon Enzo pick the GOAT.

Massive, as WBA are in great form. No pissing about with the B team, please. KDH and Wilf to start.
