  1. and….if advertised as competitive you might get a candidate that is exceptional but over budget for the role advertised, but you decide the extra salary is worth it. If you advertised the role at a certain salary, you could end up excluding some candidates with their expectation. This role in question will be reasonably high paying so even more chance of negotiation on the package…I’m not recruiter but just my experience. Ask the younger sibling @JonnyBoy or @Greg2607 who both know their onions on this topic more than me.
  2. Because it’s a lever for anyone internally to know the salary of an externally advertised job.
  3. Commonplace everywhere - not just the club to be fair
  4. P7, W0, D1, L6. We are in serious trouble if we lose to these, they are crap, crapper than us for a basic term. We need a hard brexit press and flood the box and they will fold like a cheap suit.
  5. Used to enjoy a Titanic Stout back in the day at the Rutland and Derby
  6. But then you'd have to drive a porsche that isn't a 911 and thats a crime.
  7. For a nation to try and tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle
  8. New Audi A6 e-tron looks lovely, if you're pockets are deeper they are doing an S6 E-tron. 400 miles of range too.
  9. The Sara Sharif murder case is appalling, what horrible people exist.
  10. Yep have to agree, saw it last summer on a plane so will watch again this weekend with less distractions. Superb
  11. I think the point is any proposed rises in Ers NI will not hit ''the middle class administrator on £175K'' whatever that means, but the majority of people in the £20K-£60K bracket. That makes them a ''b1tch'' per your definition. Odd
  12. Course it isn't. If you had a budget of x% for payrises for staff next year that will just be cut by the amount they change the Ers NI rate. They expect business to ''thrive'' and want to attract investment to the country, then don't do daft stuff like this. Ers NI increases will have a direct impact on privtae sector earnings if it goes up - fact.
  13. These aren't new rules, these are the rules for the Capital Goods scheme which have been around for ages. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/capital-goods-scheme-notice-7062#vat-incurred-before-registration Para 13 if you're really bored.
  14. https://www.theguardian.com/education/2024/oct/12/eton-among-elite-private-schools-set-to-cash-in-on-windfall-from-new-vat-rules Another ill thought out policy going from bad to worse, coupled with the exodous from private schools being double compared to what was initially expected. So net net, this is looking like it will cost the Government more money than it will actually generate. The Guardian is even turning on them!
  15. It’s not scaremongering this time, there’s going to be some hideous repercussions if you have any kind of wealth, big or small. There would be skids in my pants if I was sitting on a decent SIPP between 55-60 right now.
  16. FA’s will be swamped with pension withdrawal requests probably! What a shit show.
  17. I was on about the area! But yeh, the park is ok for a few hours….on par with twinlakes
  18. Just been to wicksteed park in Kettering, makes Leicester seem desirable as a comparison. What an absolute dump that place is.
  19. Lob half in. If you are prepared to ride it over 5 years you will be in the money. Faffing about with fix term savings just mean you about beat inflation
  20. Just thinking about Ben Nelson’s dad harassing Oxford fans now
  21. This is housekeeping and a tweet to generate clicks. It’s a nothing story. Should know better from a “financial expert”
  22. Shouts of “you don’t know what yer doing” from the terraces
  23. Lenders spooked ahead of an uncertain budget. Fiscal loosening will push rates up, misery for the homeowner etc etc
  24. Got quoted in our cottage for £5-6K, wasnt even that much. They are just so expensive.
  25. Agreed - but I think my first point stands, whoever becomes leader will just be the warm up act for a few years time
