The real issue was agreeing with Rodgers to appoint Congleton to oversee the bringing in of a lot of rubbish on huge wages. Obviously Top would have to agree that. They went with that despite the fact he’d already done the same at Hamburg, West Brom and Sunderland beforehand with disastrous consequences for all. None of those had to deal with PSR in the aftermath either.

How the hell can you be that bad, clearly not want it as much as the opposition, barely win a header/tackle and still win a game? Fair play to Jakub though.

A lot of shite players on long and expensive contracts.

‘Give him money’ …… we can barely give out a food voucher anymore. 😂

Good points. I’m not sure how much better a team with no strikers to speak of could be though. Was amazed the attack has been that prolific.

It’s interesting that pretty much all of the debate about Marti in this thread is about attacking. Only four teams have scored more than us, despite the pretty obvious flaws. Meanwhile, we’ve conceded the sixth most defensively while only two teams (Oxford and Norwich) have less clean sheets.

First time ever because it was the first time we’d had a 30k stadium! Once the novelty of a new stadium wore off it was regularly 23k ish during the mid 00s, mid table Championship, years. -

I understand where you’re coming from, but it very much underestimates the threat of not existing anymore, which is my point. Yes we were pushing top four but even under MON we were still top 10 when only two teams went into the Champs League. Again, yes, there wasn’t the worries off the pitch when they were playing for us, but we also had two playing for us for free we were so hard up and facing the wall. -

Absolutely recency bias. Crazy how people just brush off administration as if they don’t know what it means. Until we’re questioning if we have a football club to support anymore it won’t be as bad. (The Christmas pay thing is a worrying sign, but we’re not there yet thankfully.) -
I think this is a good summary, but taking out the ‘potential’ (statistically it’s unlikely they will all make it) and you’re left with six players, five of whom have at least one relegation from the Prem to their name already. Thomas has been involved in three relegated sides in three years! It doesn’t scream Prem quality.

Was the as a full back or centre back?

Haven’t clicked on this thread since August. Blimey, the posts then compared to now.

The positives - yes, we have some

In the last three games we’ve kept the opposition to just 10 shots on target in total. (Ignore the fact eight were goals.) -

Part of a ‘backlash’ might be due to some of the quite vocal posters on here calling for the youngsters to play, which is fine, but many also seem to naively think that they will all be top end of the Championship quality straight away. That was never likely. Statistically long term it’s unlikely that most of our promising kids will be good enough at that level, never mind right now with little experience and in fairly toxic conditions. I’d be fine with going with all the youngsters, but you’re going to get the inconstancies and mistakes. They’re not just going to straight away be good enough to waltz into the top two like some seem to think. Nelson is seemingly the best equipped and has already had a couple of good games for us this season (alongside a couple of stinkers), but being a CB at a side who are set up for a relegation fight and to be compact against more expensive sides is very different to being a centre back at a club like ours which is more expected to be on the front foot.

If your employee had changed your pay date you wouldn’t have got those presents yet! Just saying….

Leicester City Average Attendance

No. I don’t know how old you are but 23k was the regular in the mid 00s and it’s nowhere near as many empty seats now as then. -

Delighted for everyone in the stadium that got to see a goal that will be talked about for years/decades. -
Someone good in the air who the wide players could actually put crosses in to? Not something we’ve had for years even as a back up plan and would allow us to play in the different way a lot have been calling for if fit (a big caveat).

There might be a short term gain yeah if you get a new manager bump. Even RVN won his first game. That’s even before we go through the better options Southampton. We’d kill for someone like Armstrong at this level. Long term - you reckon our defence and whatever the **** it is leads our attack is good enough to challenge? No chance. -

Yes. There’s probably war criminals I’d rather have than a lot of our players. -

You would rather have our players than theirs? One of the biggest disappointments for me about tonight is that it likely means Winks and possibly Faes will be back in for Ipswich.
