Bristol City 2-2 LCFC - Post Match Thread
when_you're_smiling replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
You see a lot of over-reaction on here ‘that’s the worst 45 minutes ever’ etc… but I bet you can’t find a worse 45 than that. I don’t think we even put more than five passes together until the 93rd minute when they allowed Luke Thomas a shot. Didn’t win a 50/50 or a header either I reckon. 4 points from 6 is decent but can’t for the life of me see how we’re good enough to go up. -
Championship 2025/26 Season

Haven’t they just got £14m from the Welsh government to pay for the new stadium? -
Part of the first half display was because Derby set up to try and get ahead early. Having been 3-0 down past two games might have helped us here because Derby tried to do the same and left masses of gaps in behind. Even Ayew went through on goal at one pint and got a shot off. It was a lesson in how not to play against us. We won’t get as much space again in a first half.

That’s a ‘give the home side while losing the benefit of the doubt’ decision.

I’ve really enjoyed the last 125 minutes.

Lanpard has been good for a couple of months, but otherwise bee utterly ****inf dreadful, why would we…..

The Queen Is Dead. etc

That might be right, that the difference between then and now is there is an element of entitlement. I haven’t got a clue why anyone would think this set of players are good enough and we should be near the top this season. It’s absolutely right to be annoyed at the long term negligence though.

It is quite funny how the culture of the club/possibly football in general has gone from 20 years ago ‘support the lads through thick and thin’ and the notion of ‘fickle fans’ to now there being much proud in being what would have been though of as ‘fickle’.

Realistic Managerial Replacements

Who the **** in our squad is playing a high press?!? -
Not a huge amount, but that we’re doing about as well as I expected us to. I thought whoever was coming in was ****ed no matter what. Many weren’t happy with Enzo when we walked the league and that was never going to happen this time around. I’ve said it before but it’s amazing how many people borderline hate the players in every single position (maybe wingers excepted) but then also expect the team to be challenging at the top. It’s mad some of the expectations for a proven to not be Prem level defence with no-one at left back and an arguably best choice of striker whose current scoring rate is one goal a year. The point is more don’t take Southampton or anyone else with a new manager bounce as an example to follow. Remember Shakespeare here etc. Even if we sacked Marti and won the next four, it wouldn’t last unless we chanced upon a miracle worker or you went for someone proven. I’m sure you saw the opposition to the idea of us appointing the latter though when the likes of Dyche/Moyes. Sacking managers every few months à la Watford is a short term solution for a long term problem.

@Phil Mitchell posted it at the top of the thread.

Tell them when their winning run is over. Or would you rather just sack the manager every couple of months and hope for new manager bounces?
-
I think you could copy and paste this in pretty much every player’s thread.

‘How shit must you be, you’ve only scored 3!’ -
This is better than we could have hoped for 45 minutes ago tbf.
-
I don’t want Monga or Page anywhere near this.
-
There’s no central defenders on the bench…. and some on here reckon we have a squad good enough to be at the top.

Who knew FIFA would go against their own rules to ensure Ronaldo wouldn’t be banned for the first games of the competition despite his red card? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c30jp9q4jp6o

Never mind the fact we still had Chilwell!

And that entitled view of we’re too good for the Championship is (possibly unfairly, but in my opinion) something many of the players think and is part of the problem. -

Also, those in the squad don’t even play domestic cricket. Bashir’s not even got a county. -

Im amazed how many fans think the players are above mediocre. Who saw that defence on paper today and thought ‘wow, that’s a good defence’ or up top, ‘there’s a top end striker’?
