  1. I don’t think Forest do think their owners are rubbish. They’re very much prepared to accept even the really dodgy stuff (match fixing charges etc) because he’s got them up. I actually have (caveated) sympathy with the club to be honest. There were people on here at the time saying we needed to spend more. It’s a case of damned if you do and damned if you don’t seemingly. Yes there’s been money wasted, but we also had to have more bodies to try and compete in Europe. Was this a mistake? Anyway, the days of consistently competing top half of the Prem are gone. Clubs can still do things on tight budgets for a season or two, but the moment you miss out on Europe you’re going to be extremely close to breaching FFP. We’ll see what happens with Brighton and then be interesting if Newcastle or Villa miss out in a few years.
  2. It’s been claimed we will whatever league we’re in.
  3. So that’s 15 per cent of last year’s Premier League now charged with spending too much money, and the clubs causing football the most problems due to excessive spending is erm….Everton, Forest and us. 👍
  4. Full statement. Leicester City is surprised at the actions the Premier League has taken today. The Club is extremely disappointed that the Premier League has chosen to charge LCFC now, despite the Club’s efforts to engage constructively with the Premier League in relation to the matters that are the subject of this charge, even though LCFC is not currently a Premier League club. LCFC remains willing and eager to engage constructively with the Premier League and the EFL to seek the proper resolution of any potential charges, by the right bodies, and at the right time. The Club continues to take careful advice about its position and, if necessary, will continue to defend itself from any unlawful acts by the football authorities, should they seek to exercise jurisdiction where they cannot do so, as occurred earlier this year. LCFC has repeatedly demonstrated its commitment to the P&S rules through its operating model over a considerable period, achieving compliance while pursuing sporting ambitions that are entirely credible given the consistent success that the Club has achieved in that time, both domestically and in European competition. As we continue to represent the Club’s position, we will continue to fight for the right of all clubs to pursue their ambitions, particularly where these have been reasonably and fairly established through sustained sporting achievement. The Club thanks its supporters for their understanding in this matter and for their continued support for our team, whose success on the pitch during the final weeks of the season remains our primary focus.
  5. Yeah true. St Kitts look a fair bit sharper though from what I’ve seen. (I know how to enjoy a Wednesday night.)
  6. Harry P scored to make it 3-1. San Marino look set to have to wait even longer for a win.
  7. “If they keep scoring own goals like that there’s a chance Leicester could get back into this.” - Great commentary.
  8. I think he’ll go five at the back if we go up.
  9. We all knew the defence would need a major overhaul if we got promoted anyway. It was what got us relegated last year and is now set up to try and break weaker teams down rather than keep better teams than us out. Some decent play but for the most part the final ball hasn’t been good enough. Can see us scoring but no way are we not conceding more.
  10. That’s because Chelsea know he’s coming inside every time so know where to close down.
  11. You might be right but a person in a wheelchair would have stopped that.
  12. More on it. A ‘Dragons Den style’ panel will decide it. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2024/mar/13/dragons-den-style-format-to-decide-which-counties-get-womens-teams-cricket
  13. Wonder if Loughborough University bid against or be part of the Leics bid. I’m guessing they’ll probably bid against.
  14. I think people have regularly forgotten he’s basically a managerial novice including when we were on a roll. He’s still learning about being a number one and he’ll learn a lot in the next few weeks. That’s part and parcel of taking a gamble on him.
  15. Don’t think it’s a bad point to be honest. Hull still have to play Leeds and Ipswich and can see them giving both a good game. Enjoy the break from the league and the Chelsea game and regroup and go for the final run in.
  16. How about just trying to win every game? Tactical and motivating genius me.
  17. I’m really far more angry about this than I should be (hence posting at nearly 3am!) but I think it’s worse because I’m not really sure who to be angry at. I’ve always been against FFP and could see it coming, but if we’ve broken the rules then we should be punished. Let’s not claim to be the victim like Everton. There’s the hierarchy too, but a lot of fans were angry they didn’t spend more. They tried to be competitive and make Europe a regular thing. The moment that didn’t happen suddenly we’ve spent too much. It’s ridiculous really because we were only two wins in the Conference League and a couple of places in the league from qualifying for Europe as well. We were dammed if we did and dammed if we didn’t spend. And that’s the modern football we all have to suck up.
  18. We were always going to be ****ed by FFP. It was brought in to stop clubs like us getting in the way of revenues of others.
  19. I could only watch the second half, but wow. I thought QPR was bad but that second 45 was even worse. We just looked scared. It was insane how many times we lost the ball because our players went walked it backwards straight into about three of their’s. It even happened with giving them possession in the incident at the end. I was a bit 50/50 on the pen. Spent too much time trying to get the pen rather than to get the ball. We were due a big controversial decision going our way though. It was going to happen eventually. Hopefully the win breeds confidence because we’ll have to be much better against Hull even to get a draw.
  20. I think he picked Nelson today to try and play through balls anticipating them putting men behind the ball. He certainly attempted more than our centre backs usually do. Coady was brought in to provide leadership and now is the time for leadership.
  21. And Nelson. I think that’s why Enzo is playing him rather than Coady as he’s tried a few of them. None of them have come off.
  22. Not often I’ve thought it this season, but the opposition the better side. Even if they’ve only had one shot, and deservedly ahead. We’re just walking into traps and they’ve even beaten our forward press better than we have done. There seemed something off about it right from the start, but the next 45 minutes are now huge so we surely have to see a response.
  23. Are the T20 games dates and times set? Just realised the Derbyshire home game starting at 6pm is the same day as the Kasabian Summer Solstice gig.
  24. Maybe playing heart attack football at the back is a deliberate ploy to get the average age of our fan base down.
