  1. Well we could try playing 3-5-2. Especially as get dominated in midfield far too often. Maybe try anybody on the left they simply can't be any worse can they?
  2. Pretty much agree with all of this.
  3. This looks really concerning. Hard to think of any positives from tonight. Nelson looked ok and I'd stick with him and Okoli. The keeper looks shot of confidence, doesn't seem able to catch the ball, doesn't command his area and his distribution is terrible. Thomas at fullback needs dropping. Ricardo was out of position so often it was unbelievable. He can't play that position any more but could be ok actually in midfield. Defensively we are a complete mess at set pieces. I thought Hamza actually did quite well in midfield and played with more intensity than either Reid or Skipp who were both woeful tonight. Mavididi was pathetic and Fatawu not much better. The experiment of playing Silko through the middle didn't work. largely because he got no service or support at all from the midfield. Page and Monga again looked decent but it is too much to expect players of such limited match playing experience to dig us out the hole we are in. We have no identity as a side at all and that is down to the manager who needs to go. At the very least a good manager would make us hard to beat which currently we are not and we're shipping goals for fun. The options off the bench are so limited. A truly pathetic performance tonight.
  4. Needs to be dropped from the squad for a good few weeks. Personally I'd stick him on the transfer list and accept any offer going. He isn't good enough and must be shot of confidence too. A complete liability.
  5. Big opportunity but he did nothing!
  6. Pathetic defending from Thomas!
  7. No subs because it is working so well isn't it!
  8. Both been terrible but so have several others.
  9. Agree completely. Today we are just getting bossed in the middle of the pitch. Doesn't matter who you have as a striker if they are "supported" by this midfield. Ball winning midfield player and striker are urgently required in January. We look so slow, so uncommitted, and lack any ideas of how to play other than get the ball down the pitch and hope someone gets to it before a Sheffield United player. One side looks like a professional well coached unit that has a game plan and carries it out whilst the other looks like a bunch of Sunday pub league players coached by the guy who buys the rounds and just turns up hoping for the best.
  10. Midfield totally anonymous so far. Too slow to move the ball. We are losing almost every 50:50 challenge. lack of effort as well as quality. Terrible defending for the goal too.
  11. Reid, Mavidid, Fatawu all hopeless.
  12. We don't really have an effective board right now. 2nd October Whelan leaves and Top becomes acting CEO as well as still being Chairman. If we were a PLC that simply wouldn't wash with the city etc. Unless Rudkin has been promoted to CEO I don't think anything has happened on this front in nearly 3 months. 14th November the grand announcement that we will be recruiting a Technical Director of Football, a new Chief Executive and a new Commercial Director. I know these things can take a while at this level in companies but I don't think there have been any announcements on any of these have there? Top's brother is a board member as Vice chairman but I'm guessing has very little to do with the club. We have a director of communication who seems at best hopeless and then a financial director and Andrew Neville, Football operations Director, who I don't really know what he does. So currently our Chairman and CEO is absent playing polo for most of the time leaving a very watered down board to run the club at a key point in the season. We just don't seem to have done anything in the last few months to fill these rolls. I understand that it can take while and the people you want to employ may have notice to work etc but announcements can still be made. The Technical Director is supposedly to manage recruitment and scouting and now won't be in place until after the end of the current transfer window in all likelihood. The club is basically not being properly run and it is hardly surprising. No reason to expect changes soon in competency.
  13. Possibly but he's not completed a full 90 minutes for us yet. Doesn't matter if we are threadbare if we have a player on the books, costing us money, who basically can't play and, if he's injured, can't train properly either then if there is an option to send him back to Burnley then we should probably take it. If he's done the same hamstring again that is 2 to 6 weeks out depending on the severity. So possibly mid February before he could play and then he's not going to be match fit.
  14. It was a far better performance than the one against Watford. It wasn't a match of great quality but both teams worked hard and put in the effort. We just had a bit more class at times. Finally we saw Fatawu try to go outside his opponent rather than always cutting in onto his left foot and guess what we scored from it with a tidy finish. JJ's goal was very well taken but if that had been against us everyone on here would be slating the defender who was very feeble. Other than the goal I thought JJ had a pretty quiet game and didn't really do anything of note. The bedrock of last night was a decent showing by our two centre halves. Okoli was far better than against Watford and had a good, solid if unspectacular performance. The second half was pretty dire stuff and we offered virtually no attacking threat. It was good to see the young players on as subs but though they pressed and ran around the play did look disjointed after they came on but good to see them given time on the pitch. Last night the main issue for me was the striking options. Ayew just offered nothing at all and not having a more mobile centre forward is a big handicap to the whole team as it doesn't allow us to press the opposition as far up the pitch as we would like. This really need addressing in January. Shame about the injury to Ramsey. Hopefully not too bad but he's beginning to look like a waste of money. No point in keeping him if he can't stay fit. Not sure what the loan agreement is but maybe time to curtail the agreement?
  15. For those who want to know here is the relevant bit of note 8. Taken from the club's website and obviously not the most recent figures etc. The stadium is the subject of a hire purchase contract with K Power Holdings Company Limited, a related company. The repayment terms of the contract were contingent on the turnover associated with the League the Club plays in during the duration of the contract during the year and the payment profile of the contract has been calculated based on the league status of the Club at the year end. All amounts owing under this agreement are repayable on 30 June 2026. Amounts payable under finance leases and hire purchase contracts are set out in note 16.
  16. I agree. I thought he looked comfortable on the ball and carried it forward quite well and some of his forward passing was very good. Against him is his injury record and the fact that he's not played that much football at this level. However, if scouts are looking at potential then I'd say he would be worth a punt. A bid of 15 million to test our resolve could easily be incoming from a mid table premier League club. With only 18 months left on his contract we could be in a tricky position if serious bids do come in.
  17. He was poor today and could perhaps do with a couple of weeks on the bench as long as the time is also given over to some proper coaching.
  18. Because he has the power to change it during the course of a match but he doesn't. Presumably they are also playing to his instructions when it is clear to see they aren't up to it. A good manager, in whatever, trade, doesn't expose their staff to things they are not capable of doing. They manage them in a way to get the best out of them. Something he clearly fails to do. They also try to improve them over the course of time. I'd say we are going backwards in this aspect since his appointment.
  19. He's not good enough but he wasn't the worst player today by a long way.
  20. He's like a down-market Amartey. If we can sell in January we should. he's not good enough and doubt he ever will be.
  21. Simply terrible today and could have been sent off for a deliberate handball as he was already booked. He's a one trick pony and when that doesn't work he doesn't seem to offer anything very much. Sadly still on of our best players over the season to date.
  22. He's the bloody manager of the football team if he doesn't have control of the player playing how they do then he damn well should do.
  23. Simply abysmal second half. There's nothing there in terms of on the pitch leadership and no playing structure at all. Too many players were just so poor. Watford were not that good but deserved to win. They moved the ball better, quicker and with more invention and could/should have scored more. We will get nowhere with this manager who can't get his team to keep a clean sheet, can't set them up to defend properly. Out attacks are one dimensional and as long as our wingers are closed down and doubled up on we offer almost nothing. We can't press from the front because our strikers, for want of a better word, are too slow and past it. A manger out of his depth, a team that doesn't appear to either care or have the necessary ability to win many matches and an ownership that is devoid of any leadership and ability to lead and manage our club. There's only one way this is heading and it is down. Not perhaps this season but this reminds me of the dismal years of the early 1980s. A once decent side reduced to scrapping along for years in the lower reaches of the 2nd Division as it was then. Too many players are essentially "stealing a living" right now and we need a manager to sort them out. Any decent DOF would have had enough and be actively speaking to player agents to tell them to find their players another club. It is hard to see past a decade or more out of the premier league right now. We have no direction, no leadership, no fight and little ability in all areas of the club. A total reset is required.
  24. 1-1 at half time is a pretty fair reflection on the play. We just aren't good enough to play out from the back the way the manager is trying to make them play. It hasn't been terrible but it hasn't been very good either. 1-0 up with a minute to go to half time just clear your lines for ****s sake. Exactly like you would expect from a lower mid table championship team. One or two moments of decent play one or two moments of utter dross and the rest somewhere in between. Easy to see Watford winning this.
  25. Check out Rigby Graham. He and the Gadsby gallery produced a book on Leicestershire in 1978 or around then which features over 150 paintings of Leicester and Leicestershire. He painted it as he saw it, no airs and graces and no brushing out anything unsightly. The book is quite hard to get now and costs around £500 plus but if you get to the library they probably have a copy to look at. It is well worth it. He's not for everyone but I think he was a genius. Taught in Leicester for many years and produced some big murals for the hospital now taken down and lost unfortunately. As well as his paintings he was a brilliant print maker and collaborated on many local small press publications with a guy called Toni Savage and others.
