Anyone been watching the return of Mock The Week? 45 minutes seems a bit too long but keeping the regulars is a good move. Ed Byrne and Rhys James are excellent.
-
How many are Southampton bringing? Cannot see a midweek trip to a ground they've been to every year for over a decade being appealing.
-
Going for Ian Wright originally was totally nonsensical. He is exactly who the women's game would want- a high profile, popular, prominent voice championing the cause. He, quite rightly, wasn't having it and she looks even worse because of it.
-
We shouldn't need to overspend at that level. Sheffield Wednesday will have new ownership but uncertainty, we will have the biggest crowds should we start well, comfortably the biggest profile and the better players at that level will surely be attracted to us without breaking the bank? The issue we have is the idea of progressing on reduced costs and sensible practice is long gone at this club.

He has been involved with the club for 40% of his life. Hardly new to the business. He will not change his approach.
-
Skubala would be wise to take the job on a financial (unless we have changed our approach to contracts) and geographical basis. Career-wise, he should stay well away. We are an extremely difficult club to manage both above and below.

Genuinely one of the best lost goals there. I burst out laughing, it was like two kids trying to catch a ball going down a hill whilst stopping the other, they both fall over and failed anyway.
-
That's fair and, crucially, his place in the squad proved it. Having less effective players as first choice in the past 18 months shows the depths to which we have sunk already.

Could be by 5pm on Saturday.

Ireland falling apart here. -
Lose this and we could well be in the bottom three by our next league game as Blackburn play twice before we do.
-
He was a huge part of starting the successful period before gradually being eased out by better players and becoming a reliable squad player. As it should be. Barring James, he was a better and more effective player than any midfielder we have had this season which shows the expensive decline at the club. Not every player has to be a legend or an all time great, you can be important for a period of time. Without King contributing to promotion from League One, reaching the play-offs then scoring lots to keep us just about competitive under Sousa and early Sven era, we may not have then been able to bring in Drinkwater, Matty James, Kante and Ndidi and progress the quality of the team.

They are having a proper go. -
There is a difference between Vichai's time and Aiyawatt's. Vichai made mistakes but also kept Pearson twice when he could've been sacked after poor runs plus, when he was removed, we had the foresight to keep Shakespeare and Walsh at the club. There are no perfect owners, luck really does come into it but I do feel we have significantly worsened since 2018.

I'd rather see minnows in these events. The format suits them and it isn't a long, drawn-out hammering. Get a couple of big hitters and a capable spinner and most can be competitive at least. -

I think we were pleased that for a short while someone other than James or Fatawu were contributing. -
Still no concrete interest in anyone reported? Superb planning.
-
We have lost 7 of our last 10. We have Middlesbrough, Norwich and Ipswich in the next five.
-
The current trend is to knock successful managers by saying it is the previous manager's work but even that isn't fully applicable here as they lost three huge players in the summer.
-
Prove them wrong, then. No good moaning about it now.
-
As a full back. Maresca used him in the best way for his capabilities. He is finished as a full back, he should either play centrally or not at all. There are still times where you see the touch and vision but it is diminishing returns. I think there is more sympathy because he is battling against nature rather than mindset. But he cannot play as a right back any more.

Their form has improved in recent weeks. 10 points from 12 and one conceded.

Must be a genuinely miserable experience to follow us away when you add in what an awful team we are to watch and the way you are treated for criticising/ calling it out. -
Not as if we have known for months that there were issues with Cifuentes. Not as though it was highlighted on national television how alarming the overall stats around play and fitness are. We are just lazy on and off the pitch.
