The Running Thread (formerly How fast can you run a 5k?)

Done 10km in 49 mins flat which is my PB. Happy with that because I'm nursing either shin splints or a small stress fracture in one leg, so had three days off. Also happy because the first half of the run it started raining fairly hard and a little windy 🤣 Next aim is to do a half marathon distance, possibly on Friday -
Game management...we have it!
Heart-Shaped Fox replied to foxfanazer's topic in Leicester City Forum
Our game management for a long time has been pathetic. I loved every minute of it today, was actually a surprise to see us do it so well for a change. Everton did the same thing yesterday, it's the fine margins like that which has helped keep them in the PL. -

Basically surrendering Playing Ayew, BDR and Vardy is a disgrace -
It's gonna be the three promoted teams back down isn't it...

Board and him to go please. I've already accepted relegation. We're ****ing dross. He's made us worse and I won't have anyone tell me different. We should have lost every game under him in the league. Brighton game was same as Palace/Fulham apart from we somehow came back . West Ham dicked us and we got lucky with them not taking chances.

Wank line up Vardy playing is ridiculous Where the hell is Woyo

Beat this today. 21:53 just now. Absolutely ****ed though, my first 1km was a 4 minute split which tbh held me back in the last couple of 2km. Not sure I can actually get much better than this time, possibly when my shin splints have fully cleared but can't see me getting 21 minutes or under unless I perhaps did a race or park run rather than my running on the street. Nearly threw up when I stopped running 🤢🤣 Definitely prefer 10km or more. Find with a 5km I'm checking my Strava for the time and pace constantly, it's definitely a pressure run 5km is. Well for me anyway -
The bottom of this league is so bad it's laughable. The fact we can still stay up is funny but also painfully giving us hope 😂

Comparing this season to 2014/15 Great Escape
Heart-Shaped Fox replied to tickler28's topic in Leicester City Forum
Won't be two worse teams than us. Everton can defend, even if they don't score many. I fully expect us to lose 1-0 there and be as usual unlucky or give them a goal from a mistake. Wolves can score, and Ipswich do have that team spirit and collectiveness about them. I genuinely can't see us winning any time soon let alone keeping a clean sheet. We still have Ipswich and Soton at home but I don't expect any points from them at all with how we're playing. We are not good enough to pick up 20+ points in the remaining games -
LCFC 0-2 Palace,post match thread
Heart-Shaped Fox replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
We have gone now. Our defence is embarrassing. A 0-0 wouldn't have been bad tonight, at least a clean sheet is something to build on. We're so bad it's laughable at the back. We aren't capable of scoring 3 in a game to win any time soon. RVN was the wrong appointment too but the board are the blame for the whole mess. -
£50 a ticket no doubt

Oddest type of player I think I've seen. Can look dangerous af for ten mins then anonymous af the next 80 mins. His consistency has meant the move to Newcastle won't ever be topped in has career now I don't think. Not saying I wouldn't have him back but financially there's no way we could afford it

22:15 my 5km this morning, PB. Happy with that after a 20km Wednesday and 8km recovery run on Fri. Still have tight legs and it's cold/frosty af this morn. -

Done my first 20km run today. Pleased I've done it but I think generally I prefer 10/15 max really. Actually annoyed because I didn't realise until I got back that a half marathon distance was only 1.1km more which I'd have done to hit that distance. Means I'll have to do it again one day now 😂 -
This result does put us down in my eyes. Because they can do everything we can't, battle and pick up points at a tough place. I don't think we'll win another away game this season. Only way of staying up is winning the next two game at home for any chance to survive.

Ipswich have a better team spirit than us. It's our fault we're as shit as we are. They'll at least pick up a point here and it's something we're incapable of doing against anyone we're not expected to get something from

Really not arsed about this. Want to win but this isn't a priority -

Justin is dog shit. He can't be defended, he's cost us enough points this season. Wouldn't even want him if we're in the Championship, he's declined massively as a player. I thought the general performance was alright but again we have nothing really up front. -
Biggest joke of that is that it says will be worn in the Premier League 🤣
-
Will Enzo have another second half of season slump? 19th starting 2025 is dire from us. We should be better than that but we don't deserve to be. Ipswich winning today shows we have to win a game this season we're not expected to. Arguably we did that against Bournemouth but need to do it again at least once
-
All depends on if we can recruit in January. A new full back either side is critical, possibly another striker too other than Daka to replace Vardy. Games at home to Palace, Brentford, Ipswich, Soton are all must win really. Also need points at Everton, West Ham and Wolves away, Utd at home needs to be something also. We're also needing to beat a team or two who we arguably shouldn't. Say home to Newcastle or Fulham. I think we'd need probs 36/37 points. I'm not sure we're capable of that

Did my same old 5km route this morning and got 22:48. A new PB for me. I'm pleased with that because it's only three days ago i did a 15km on Xmas day. Ached a bit after, think I've got shin splints slightly too I probably should look to do it around a track or at least a park run where I might be more flat. Max elevation on the route I have is about 14m, it can be a bit inclined in places but also sloped. I'd like to be sub 22 by February really. I've also lost about 5kg in about 12 weeks which doesn't seem a lot but I'm happy with it. -

The defence is worse now arguably then previously. We've conceded 9 in 4 games. West Ham should have scored 3 against us too. I want him to succeed but if he thinks Ward is the second best keeper at the club then I'm sorry but how is he gonna keep us up?
