  1. Taking off the specs that has made me a fierce critic of Demarai Gray over the past couple of seasons, I can honestly say my patience ran out with him a long time ago. Have always said he has had the potential but never fulfilled it, but seriously wondering now if he ever had it I'm afraid. He should be a fringe player at the most next season if Brendan Rodgers has been making any sensible notes. He is not a starting player, fact. And yes, he will throw his dollies out of the pram, again, and this time I will not care a single iota if he leaves. He will just be some other club's problem. Harsh? Yes. Justified? Absolutely.
  2. Very sad by the reaction he got when coming on, which was certainly contrasted by Marc Albrighton's reception. Major confidence boost in the summer needed, otherwise it's going to be it for Nacho. When the players miss/ignore his runs like they did, you know he is in serious trouble.
  3. No-one gets more than a 6. Collectively a poor display with a couple of half-decent individual performances. It's issues like these that will need to be addressed in the summer. In the meantime, accept it for what it is and Brendan is trying to make the most of a situation he has inherited. Onto the next game.
  4. Got to admire your ambition.
  5. Reminds me of us from 2015-16. I mean the team on the right, of course. Fair play Wolves.
  6. Never mind the ones leaving early, it's the ones who arrive late that get my back up. Some ignoramus thought it was good idea to arrive 10 minutes late. Shuffled back to let him through, and he stopped right in front of me to watch an attack develop. Don't pay hard-earned cash to watch the back of his head. Rant over. PS. Always have stayed to the end unless there is somewhere I'd have to be right after the game and don't particular fancy waiting 20-25 minutes to get out the stadium after the players and manager have been applauded off the pitch. And trust me, losing 4-1 to Palace was difficult staying for.
  7. Probably a case of too little, too late. But that's not saying we can't push the likes of Watford and Wolves all the way. Who knows what could happen. For some added perspective, if Puel was still here, I would just be happy to avoid a relegation scrap which we were getting pulled into. Amazing how things change.
  8. Think it is just his distribution that opens him up for criticism. One of his clearances led to a corner within the first couple of minutes, and things like that really take the shine off his better qualities. Because as a shot-stopper, he is right up there with the very best. People are used to better from Kasper because yet again, we go back to the title winning season where everything fell into place. And that included Kasper Schmeichel's distribution, which was always executed to perfection. Maybe with Puel gone and the constant passing sideways and backwards gone with it, the pressure on Kasper may ease and the mistakes will disappear. We shall have to wait and see what magic Brendan Rodgers can do.
  9. I know this was against poor opposition yesterday, but he got back to doing what he does best. Breaks up the play, does the simple pass and let's the attacking players do the rest. Mind you, I did find it amusing that whenever he got within 25 yards of the goal, there were fans around me saying DON'T shoot. You could feel the relief when he decided to pass it on to keep the attack going! You're back on the right road now Wilf, you just keep going!
  10. When he gets that first goal, he will be a brilliant player. He won't have many easier defences than this to play against, but showed some really good touches and skill, plus his work for Vardy's second was excellent. Puel may not have been popular, but recalling Barnes was one of his best decisions.
  11. Attacking-wise, best I have seen for many months. PS. Accidentally gave Demarai Gray a 9, was supposed to be 5, it just wasn't his day but thankfully it was enough of a good performance from the whole team overall. Heard Rodgers' name chanted from the stands today, that's one more time than Puel. Says it all!
  12. Kasper Schmeichel 4 Jonny Evans 5 Wes Morgan 4 Harry Maguire 4 Ricardo Pereira 6 (Accidentally gave him 5 on the poll...) Youri Tielemans 6 Wilfred Ndidi 5 Ben Chilwell 5 James Maddison 5 Harvey Barnes 5 Jamie Vardy 6 Demarai Gray 5 Nampalys Mendy 5 Kelechi Iheanacho 4 Think Schmeichel and Ndidi need dropping for a game or two. Defensive discipline and game management, as well as that ability to convert territorial possession to actual chances, all need Rodgers' urgent attention.
  13. What can I say? The club are planning ahead.
  14. Had, and will still have my respect for how he conducted himself during the helicopter tragedy. But on the pitch, it just wasn't working. I may have soundly drifted into the Puel Out camp yesterday but it's never nice to see someone lose their job. Wish him well for the future and we can now bring this Puel In/Out debate to a close, be it a lot later than I'd hoped.
  15. Not many of us do.
  16. Don't forget Kevin Pressman.
  17. Never seen so many people immediately get out of their seats from the moment that Iheanacho did that superb defensive header. It was actually like playing against 12 men.
  18. Felt so sorry for Barnes today. Time and time again, he got into those key positions and screamed for the ball but it rarely came his way. But that just epitomised Leicester's current approach in the final third... Slow, laboured and clueless.
  19. Says a lot about a player and his confidence/ability if he could only muster one effort on target and that was off his frickin' shoulder. Other than that, he was in some Newport defender's back pocket. If he couldn't even put a decent shift in against those lot, then Manchester City are laughing all the way to their bank in the UAE. Patience has ran out.
  20. Can't be any worse that the ineffective dross that's patrolling our frontline when Vardy isn't there. There's no escaping that the fact that when JV does eventually pack it in or suffers a long term injury, who do we have?
  21. As much as I agree, did/does Slimani offer anything up front? Maybe apart from a slightly stockier frame that may or may not intimidate Premier League quality defenders? And given that Turkish sides don't really make waves in European football, I'm not holding much hope. New personnel is required.
  22. Based on his Fenerbache record and reviews, and considering how desperate they are to send him back, no.
  23. A chance for several players to make their mark. They failed miserably. Rated no-one higher than a 6. 2's awarded to Iheanacho (4) and Okazaki (19) who have a combined LCFC record of 23 goals in 158 appearances. And to think that Puel is not looking to recruit another forward. Madness. Only Choudhury and Albrighton (handball aside) emerge with any kind of credibility.
  24. He's played Morgan quite a lot in pre-season... That makes me nervous.
