That was so poor from Rashford, not saying he should 100% bag, but that was tame effort

Does it....? lad for 400k who's an unknown talent. Why are people saying no to that? Come on give me a better counter example than that Oliver Skipp for £20m on the other hand.... -

Hope they do, can't handle getting battered by them again next year. -

Even Rodgers had this mindset to a degree. In cup games he would often choose to play the biggest/oldest players from the dev squad rather than the most talented players. -

It's like you've reached into my brain and pulled out of thoughts and reaction in the form of somewhat coherent posts. It's nothing personal against the man himself, but it's absolutely terrible that people of his mindset are involved/have been involved in the club. Not an ounce of progressive thinking in him, in terms of football. Very much feels in line with the general philosophy of the club. -
On paper Soutter and Nelson should compliment each others game nicely if we play a back 4. Souttar's aerial precence coupled with Nelsons ability on the ground and decent turn of speed and recovery. Should they be allowed to build a partnership you could see it being fairly strong over time.

Can the premier league add a rule that allows fans to veto transfers? We'd have saved a tonne of cash if that was an option. Ipswich should have struggled as they have done. Ourselves and Southampton absolutely should have been more competitive. Both have bought poorly and decided to play in a manner that reduces our chance of picking up points. -
I very much picture Enzo's departure being like this.. Actually rewatching, I think this is Pearson the 3rd time he was sacked

Didn't open this thread expecting to be cajoled into rewatching the thick of it for the hundredth time

Well we didn't strengthen in Summer when he had the chance to, so I can't imagine it would have happened in Jan. -

Not surprised but just confirmation that there's no vision, guidance or planning coming from the top of the hierarchy. -

If that it the mindset that most of the club staff has then it's really not a surprise to see we're regressing to a level where old school thinking and a "jobs for the boys" way of working is rife. 6 17-20 year old from the academy straight into a starting line up is clearly insane. However have 5 or 6 quality academy prospects regularly involved in squads and getting minutes should absolutely be the goal. This is why everyone was bigging up moving to a million subs. All we do is fill it with painfully overpaid dross (relative the our current level) I'm not talking about lads in their mid 20s that happen to still be here as well, I'm talking about harnessing young talent to either sell or play and benefit the club. -

Yeah I thought the same but then about a minute later my brain clicked and had the same realisation you did. He meant unfortunately we'd be in the championship. But he said it in a really weird way -
I'd be shocked if he doesn't play for us next year. Relatively it's still a good level, he'll be 21 next season. If he can really excel next season then it does his reputation the world of good. It shouldn't be a tremendously hard sell unless him and his agent have ideas massively above their station. In which case it makes our decision easy because you don't want someone like that around anyway. Pearson would be exactly the type of player that would absolutely thrive under a manager like Pearson. Would love to have another good overall manager that can help improve the club in multiple facets next season Rather than focusing on yet another one of the cookie cutter coaches that have all been told that pep ball is the only way to play football.

Not only that, but a football agent that's previously been given a job by him -
Not much. They had a cm playing at cb and had over 4 xg.

So glad I stayed up for that. Superb from Paddy and Volk. I've got a lot of love for Jean Silva as well

I can't see it myself unless there's a clause we can activate that means he doesn't get paid as much. Not great for morale though if everyone is just waiting for the inevitable and there's no incentive to try and improve. So based on that, there's probably a great chance we've decided to set it up that way -
The staff at the club does find new and interesting ways to shoot us in the foot so it wouldn't shock me at all to see it happen

He's clearly not going to get sacked this season, best we can hope for is that he isn't selfish and actually starts blooding in the lads that should be the core of the squad next season. Do fancy we could score today given that Brighton have 1 fit CB. This is assuming Ruud allows us to attack with more than 3 players and allows them to counter attack rather than turning back and passing to the defenders. -
Big change from last week
