Turns out he's a creator and not a finisher. We need to go full Joelinton and have him playing as an attacking 8

Haha I noticed this. As an American, you'd be forgiven for not understanding why Paul Mullin isn't playing in the Premier League. Now i'm on E3 of the latest season and Jack Marriott is now basically being talked about like prime Rooney -
I think regardless of his ability, we've seen good and bad from him (the bad just stands out more) The fact that his confidence is so easily damaged is a massive red flag. You can't really carry a player that's going to turn into Ade Akinbiyi for 3 months because he missed a chance or something didn't go his way. Whether that can be solved by better man management or some external help from a psychologist I don't know. But he too often strays into the category of "how is this man getting paid to play football?".

Haha that was box office stuff last night between Gezzy and Gurney Both equally fiery and mardy. Was gutted for Ross Smith that he turned into a pub player for the first 5 legs. Seen it too many times on the euro tour though, he's either got a Magnet in that T20 or he can't hit anything. Due to the longer format we saw both versions of him Rock's some player though, even on his best form all game that would have been a real struggle. Picks for tonight Van Veen - My outsider for the worlds this year Anderson - Unbelievable in the Euro tour last weekend Clayton - I can never back against the Ferret Cannot split Wade and Nijman. Possibly home crowd advantage sees Wade take it.

In terms of Usyk, if he wanted to hang around, I'd like him to drop back down to Cruiser and fight Ramirez.

Will be interesting to see should the transfer happen. I think he comes in and improves them, but I understand the doubts even if I don't particularly agree with the reasoning. -

4 goals against them the season before then, what does that mean? Either way, seems alright to be fair. Personally I wouldn't be crying if he bagged 30 goals for my team just because they weren't against the right teams. -

In the league 1 goal and 2 assists in 4 v Benfica. 4 goals and and an assist in 4 v Porto. This season in cups Goal v Benfica in final and 2 assists v Porto in their version of the Charity shield. Not sure I'd use the word poor to describe that return. -

Unreal moment from an average player?

All I've learned from this thread is that too many people don't understand what the word moment means. Nails is really tough to beat for most -
One of the greatest boxers ever, what a man. Gutted that him and Itauma will never get to duel it out. Hope he doesnt entertain fighting that waste man Fury again. Fury whinging about 2 rightful defeats is plenty enough.

Danny Ward would have been proud of some that keeping last night. Sweden's 2nd goal and England's 1st were right out the Wardy book of goalkeeping. Entertaining game for England fans, owing to the fact that the spirit of Southgate entered the sweden manager at half time and urged them to surrender the initiative to England for 45 mins. Might watch another!

Rashford is class when a contract is on the line. -
I'm assuming it's a pisstake but that last paragraph is superb To finish a post that is complaining about "moaners" with that is just beautiful

Haha I was waiting for this!

Yep, that's really the issue, a lot of football officiating is subjective. The fact that players go down and easy and are allowed to try and con the refs also makes it extra hard. I just wish they'd trim it down to the best bits. Goal line tech and semi-automated offsides.
-
Would like more clarification on that 2nd one. You're at risk of checking every single tackle made by an already cautioned player. Adding more checks is definitely not the right move given the time it takes to reach decisions by people atm.

There is yes. I don't think the intensity is an issue as long as properly managed. Playing him 90 mins Saturdays and Tuesdays will overload him. The lad getting 60 on a Saturday and 30 on a Tuesday likely won't. As Stadt says, the sports science team will know what he's capable of, just the same as every other player. James Milner played regularly from the age of 16/17 and had a long career. Seen people bring Michael Owen a bit and I just find it frustrating, when there's plenty of examples of people starting young and not having poppadom hamstring as you called them
-
Agreed that intensity of the matches will be bit different, but I don't think its a co tributing factor to a player being injury prone. I'd always argue workload is more important than who you're playing against. But playing 60-90 mins a week at 16 assuming he can handle it shouldn't cause issues. For every Owen theres plenty of players that have started young and been fine. Don't overload them and they'll be fine. Playing first team or kids footie. Its all about managing the workload.

Still one of our better players and was massive in the Champ last time. Not a massive fan of selling him unless he's ready for a change and his heart's not in it.
-
What would be the difference to his hamstrings from playing U18s/U21s and playing for the men's team?
-
I dno, 33 years old. I'm sure he's replaceable.
