I'd see him very much in the Solano/Berner/Hammond/Phillips role. Experienced head on a short term contract who won't necessarily expect to start, but can still very much do a good job. Someone who will help massively with the cluster of young players I'd be expecting us to be using this season. Whether he'd even fancy having that role is another question. If he was up for it though, it'd be very shrewd on our part.

You know what, I think I'd take Bannan on a year long deal, I think at the very least he'd be good in the dressing room. Definitely someone who can come on and have a positive impact with 20-30 mins to go as well. Edited to add... Under no circumstances would I be willing to offer more than £25k a week. Throw in some assist/goal bonuses and be very clear that it's a 1 year deal. We can guarantee he will be paid every month though, which is an upgrade.
