There's an awful lot of synergy between our two clubs. He says "The last two management groups have to take a lot of responsibility for what has happened here, not just the glazers" It's exactly the argument we are having, Top has let Whelan and Rudkin do what they want and we are paying for it. And Ratcliffe is flipping that by being involved in the day to day but it'll take years to fix. It's exactly what we need from a new owner/new management group.

Oh yeah it certainly came across is "there's a few more years of this shit to come" rather than anything more positive. He'll be cutting costs here there and everywhere, and ordinarilly none of these stories would come out, but the press are lapping it up so we'll hear about every little thing even if in reality it's probably a good call.

I think the bit fans don't understand in these discussions is that Ratcliffe is likely looking at two seperate businesses. He'll have completely seperated the business cost of players etc from the day to day Man Utd staff. So although the £40k cut and the lunch looks stupid, he's cutting that from a regular business budget, not the £300k a week the players get paid. He's right, a member of staff shouldn't get an S-Class chauffer down to london just because they work for a football club.... much like our ****ing comms director shouldn't have a private jet selfie on his linkedin!
