Not always winning the initial header but dealing with the knock-downs is what is easy because it's coming from a pretty static attack and there's less precision on your pass from the head vs by feet. If you're just hitting it to the big man in the mixer you need him to win the header and then your forwards to win the second ball and score in a tightly packed area. It is quite simply a very inefficient style regardless of how tall your big man is

Adding another string to you now yes, but "just stick a CB up front and smash it at him" went the way of the dinosaurs years ago because it's just really ineffective. People remember the odd goal resulting and forget that it's probably the easiest thing for a defence deal with. The sole remaining adherents of it are flat cap wearers in Huddersfield who think even Lancashire is too exotic

Who let Sean Dyche on here?
-
I mean he's still a laughing stock. Why didn't I think of that? Goals. There's 4 options. Joel Piroe, he's in third, Jack Clarke, he's in third...

The thing that bothers me most is how much the handbrake gets slammed on. Like early on Abdul got their full back booked and then there was never a desire to get the ball to him and invite him to face down that 1v1 knowing the defender has one arm tied behind his back at that point, and it's a pretty consistent thing week in week out. Mavididi, McAteer, Abdul, whoever the winger is we see them win the 1v1 and then don't try to capitalise on it at all. Genuinely would run away with games if we took that off and focused down winning the 1v1s more which this system is ultimately supposed to do

Just play him. All Vardy offered tonight was pointing and Kelechi offers even less than that

Absolutely abysmal. Lucky not to lose really and against a team who've barely looked in the division and are already 12 points adrift 18 games in, that's unacceptable.
-
Don't see what he brings to the team tbh, another Danny Cadamateri who does nothing after a late debut goal
-
Yes it was

Honestly don't think that will ever happen. We seem to try and play with the bare minimum exertion to win against whoever we're playing and to a degree that makes sense, a 1-0 win or a 10-0 win is worth 3 points, and this league is an endurance test, but we saw v hull, v Middlesbrough, tonight, that all it takes is a lucky deflection, a wonder strike, a single chance, and you throw away those 3 points.

More like 4-5-1-1 let's be hinest

Pure Rodgers ball, can't argue with those results

Nah London is expensive af.

6. Last champions league win was first qualifying round in 2020/21 under Ange Posteglou who had a further 9 games (second qualifying round, loss in two legged qualifiers and group stage the subsequent two seasons)

Trial of the two kids accused of murdering Brianna Ghey started yesterday and it's some of the foulest stuff I've ever seen. The texts between two accused fantasizing about murdering people, discussing plans of how to do it and inviting her out with the intent of killing her. How much do you have to have failed as a parent for your kids to be that evil.

The Rodgers effect.

I mean I don't put any stock in the backlash against the marvels, loki season 1 etc, because the MCU has been political since it's inception (Iron Man 1, the first MCU film, is literally about the evils of PMCs) and is as heavy-handed about politics as comics in general are (captain Americas origin story is literally "really good at punching Nazis) and it's mostly just whiny incels outraged that women are present. Like there is valid criticism about the oversaturation of superhero movies and really the MCU should have wrapped up with endgame but that applies to all new films, not just the marvels

I mean pronouns aren't a political message, they're a basic part of pretty much every language but also if you're wanting something that isn't "woke" then the show about a shape-shifting alien who's most recognisable enemies are fascist wheelie bins probably isn't for you, nor tbh is the genre of sci-fi.

He's a raw 19 year old, ghezzal was in his prime when he arrived. The two are not comparable

Man city and Chelsea haven't got off Scot free though, their verdicts haven't been given yet because those cases are far bigger in scope. It's the difference between prosecuting tax fraud from a self-employed tradesman Vs a multinational company, obviously the multinational will have worse offences but they'll also have so many and access to lawyers to stall and obfuscate that the case against them would take far longer to conclude than the bloke who's just putting fake numbers on his tax returns.

Well at least all this booing means they're not doing that dogshit "woo" song

... Enzo hasn't even completed one season as a main man, Rodgers has two titles and five cups in Scotland and an FA cup here. Like I know things went really sour and he stayed long past his sell by date but Rodgers is a far more successful manager throughout his career than Enzo is at the moment -

You're being deliberately obtuse at this point. The guy swings and trips over the ball but it's a chance created where they didn't get a proper shot off because of a doggo striker rather than because of any defending. Fact remains it was a tap-in and was the best opening either side created, far better chance for a goal than a free kick from range because "at least the free kick managed a proper shot", very much backed up by the xG: https://fbref.com/en/matches/6da77c36/Leicester-City-Watford-November-25-2023-Championship (shots, half way down the page. 0.18 for Rajovic tripping over the ball, higher than any other chance first half and only Wouts run got above 0.1 for us) We had a lot of the ball, can you remember a chance that wasn't a completely routine save for the keeper (tame header down, low shot from 30 yards). Like everyone has to admit, regardless of whether they like this style or not, that the first half did not have the tempo to make anything of the possession and the second half was far better. -

A free kick from 25/30 yards is not a better chance than the ball being laid right to your feet on the six yard box, come off it. Similarly, a contested header is not an easier chance than a pass directly to feet 6 yards out with the nearest defender still 2 yards away
