All history shows that with equal or stronger squads compared to Leicester City’s (Wolves had a better squad than us last season) O’Neil fails 100% of the time. Next year will be no conundrum if we get promoted. We’ll be adrift near the bottom, O’Neil will get sacked and we’ll be paying yet more compensation to a manager out of his depth. Same thing will happen with Wilder or Dyche.

That’s absolutely wrong. Carsley did a great job in charge of England. We played much better football him than we did with Southgate. We had one loss against an excellent Greece team whilst playing with an experimental lineup. An 83% win ratio whilst giving debuts to 8 of his u21 team is definitely not a spectacular fail. Gareth.

Absolutely no way Carsley would leave the England set up. He’s perfect for the U21’s and will be in the main job after Tuchel. For that reason I’ve ignored that option as well as Rosenior who’s just signed a new contract at Strasbourg having got them into Europe. Both beyond the realms of possibility.

A properly run club at our level wouldn’t consider either of them OR Dyche. Southampton certainly wouldn’t and recruiting Will Still shows way more ambition.

The top names on our supposed shortlist, other than the unknown or Rohl (who for me is by far the best option) will all have the same inevitable end. Looking at the history of Wilder, Dyche, O’Neill - their spells have ALWAYS ended in a sacking at the top level - and a fair sacking due to football reasons. What would be different about them being within the current Leicester set up that would mean they’d suddenly become a success and not sacked? The answer is nothing, all have failed at equally well/badly run clubs as us with a similar squad strength to what we have now and it will be a case of rinse and repeat. None of them have the aura of a manager like Maresca who can motivate players to play above their level. All have been tainted by past sackings that have been fully deserved. An appointment of a manager within the merry go round of the usual suspects at this level, very much including Wilder, Dyche or O’Neill will be the final proof to the players as well as us fans after the Cooper fiasco, that we are aspiring to be Middlesbrough or Stoke. Teams that are happy with being underwhelming also rans in The Championship.

I think I’d rather see him stay as a coach. As soon as you become a manager, your time at a club is limited. He’ll either get sacked or get head hunted. We need Kingy around long term. Obviously it depends on his ambitions but he has so much to offer yet as a coach.

That was better than every pre season game we saw from Cooper last season. Credit to Kingy and the young lads who all showed up well today.

The concern from the now deleted posts was that the fixes they had put in to remove the fungus hasn’t fixed the problem and now they aren’t sure what they’re dealing with. No and I don’t see the connection. For a start he Pearson never got us relegated and for me had more than enough credit in the bank if we had been relegated. He also didn’t play Dycheball. I lay a lot of credit for the premier league win to Nigel Pearson. He bought the players, he built the squad mentality, it was all his back room staff. So no i absolutely would not say Pearson is a bad manager. I’ve also not said Dyche is a bad manager, I’ve just said his style of play doesn’t suit our youth system development and that he always gets sacked (for footballing reasons) when he’s in the Premier League.

We all know how it will end for Dyche if he got the job, it ALWAYS ends with his sacking at the top level. He doesn’t get head hunted. A manager like Rohl, hasn’t been on that sacking cycle yet, there’s still hope with an appointment like him as the future is uncertain. His time with us might end like Enzo’s where his performance resulted in him being taken by a bigger team here or abroad. I’m fine with that as it will mean he’s done a good job like Enzo did. Ultimately let’s pick a manager that plays football aligned with how our youth teams are coached, particularly when it’s clear that that’s where clubs can earn the most profit to get back to where we want them to be. I can tell you with some certainty that our youth team players aren’t developed to play Dyche ball.

Who in our squad is built for Dyche’s physical non complicated long ball tactics then? It pretty much discounts all the promising young players we have. He prefers physical centre halves and defensive fullbacks, legs in central midfield rather than craft, a big lad upfront and direct getting the crosses in from traditional wingers.

As I’ve said previously on this thread, we haven’t got the players to play Dycheball. Everton did and they still struggled.

Definitely not true at Everton last season. Look what Moyes did with the same players!

With the squad we have and specifically the type of youth players we have and the whole style of play our youth are developed in from when they first join the club, Sean Dyche is absolutely not the perfect fit. A short term solution that will end in tears as it always has in his management career.

Seagrave has played a massive positive part in the development of the best set of youth players we’ve ever had. It’s not the problem. Driving through the saff to a dated, cramped training facility wouldn’t have changed anything. Out failures are down to poor decisions at the top since the tragic death of Vichai, our downturn was because of this and the subsequent mismanagement that has resulted in overpaying wages and reducing player sale opportunities, buying too many poor players, selecting too many poor managers or keeping failed managers on for too long and not having any progression planning when we have had periods of success. Ultimately these failures have pushed us over a PSR threshold that has crippled us. The problem is not a fabulous training facility.

Why is Seagrave being blamed? Out downturn coinciding with the tragic loss of Vichai has everything to do with the management of the club Top down, nothing to do with state of the art training facilities.

other than the development of Monga, Evans, Nelson, Alves etc etc…….Anyone keen to see quality developing youth should be lauding Seagrave and the quality of young players being developed at all age groups.

Seagrave is state of the art, it has all the facilities to maximise the fitness of a player. If fitness is an issue then that’s down to player training and conditioning and is a management issue. Not sure there’s actual any evidence that shows LCFC players are not as fit as opponents. Players can be perfectly fit but demotivated by their own circumstances, their leader and the form of the team.
