Winks changed the game when he was subbed on at half time for Skipp away at Southampton. He was absolutely key in changing a loss into 3 points.

It then means we have no right winger (Ayew is not a winger) and we lose Mavididi on the left. He was a key aspect of our attack yesterday and combined well with ELK and Buonanotte. It just moves the problem to the other side.

I don’t remember too much love for Yuki Abe tbh. Hard working maybe but little else came from him in midfield. About as effective as Oliver Skipp.

I think we are going to have to accept ‘Od Ed’s’ here for the season. With that in mind he needs game time - the QPR match is the perfect time to give him start.

Our current first 11 has no Fatawu and no Buonanotte. He’d be a better option than Ayew who usually starts and a better alternative to Vardy than Daka. He’d challenge Bilal for the central number 10 role.

Perez wasn’t useless, he was constantly played out of position by Rodgers. He’d walk into our team now.

The lack of quality in the squad is in part down to Cooper though. He wanted premier league experience, he wanted BDCR, Ayew, Skipp. There’s absolutely no way that those players would be with us if Enzo was still here or if Ruud joined in the summer. There’s no way Ward would’ve been our back up keeper except he was promoted to the position by his fellow Welshman. There’s no way we would’ve denied Ricardo game time despite Justin being awful from the very beginning ensuring he sat on his arse during a lot of preseason and early season, probably contributing to his hamstring problem. There’s no way anyone else would’ve mismanaged Fatawu so badly other than Cooper before his injury. Cooper’s influence is all over this squad sadly.

Ok yeh JJ you keep doing what you do bud. Responsible for a large amount of goals conceded and not even trusted ahead of Hamza at right back in The Championship but apparently undroppable for him now.

Ayew definitely has to take some responsibility for Villa’s 2nd goal. The goal was probably 70% down to JJ with a stupid pass having spurned endless options to clear or pass (even Ayew had told him to clear it,) BUT Ayew should’ve received that pass, instead he tried an obvious and lazy dummy, trying to let the ball cross his path rather than moving towards the ball, allowing the Villa player who was further away from the ball to steal in ahead of him. Poor from both players.

Let’s be honest, he was error prone at Everton and in and out of the team. Not particularly an improvement on the 4 we currently have so I’m not disappointed by not being in for Godfrey though I do share the concern that we are going to leave it late. Again.

The point was you putting out a concern over JJ reading online abuse whilst simultaneously calling his form hideous is somewhat contradictory. The fact is, you are correct about his form (and incorrect about Hamza not being able to play in the fullback role.)
