The vast majority of their Europa Conference bomb squad who can’t get premier league minutes would walk into our side. They have a massive squad of fantastic players and are now coached in detail by an outstanding manger in Enzo. They are undoubtedly top 4 standard and could push for the top 2 positions. That being said, Chelsea won’t need to be world class on Saturday. We are at a low ebb, with players who doubt their manager (and I think vice versa) and a squad hobbled by injuries and bans to our few creative attacking players. Most fans are disheartened by the constant negativity and will quickly turn on the manager on Saturday IMO.

Ricardo is out for 4 months btw.

We have unbelievable bad luck with our best players or brightest hopes with major major injuries. Players that should’ve been standouts for us - Ricardo, JJ, Fofana. Future hopes, Braybrooke and the two that have really hit us in the gut - Alves and Fatawu. Genuinely makes me feel sick. 😔

Ayew and Fatawu both injured on international duty. Presumably Vardy out for a stretch and Ricardo out for an eternity. We are staring down the barrel of an Edouard start and an absolute shellacking from Judas Enzo’s Chelsea mob. He was brilliant in his time as a presenter but not able to involve himself in the conversation. Lineker’s strength is he was a world class striker in the men’s game who also has become a very slick presenter. The other names you mention don’t have that gravitas so will be a downgrade irrespective of their presenting ability. If we are being honest, what many of them do have is the power of not being a white middle aged man and that is ultimately a strength in a area of tv entertainment that is trying to hit certain targets and attract new audiences.

Lineker does that too even though he was a class above many of those he talks to in the MOTD studio. The difference is he can offer an opinion on say Harry Kane and it’s actually constructive and interesting even though it annoyed the current England striker. Lineker also often provides some sanity when he’s got say Keown or Murphy alongside him, lesser players with big opinions. Chappers can’t possibly provide that because he’s effectively one of us. He's not been there even if his opinion is valid. I actually quite like Prutton on Sky’s Championship because he’s a slick presenter and was a pro footballer so he’s been there and done that. Less so Jenas when he wasn’t in disgrace as he’s just not at the same level presenting-wise.

Everyone calling for Chappers underestimate how much Lineker uses his past experience as a world class striker to add to the viewing experience. He’s not a just a brilliant host who asks questions to the more knowledgeable guests, he’s been there and done that at the highest level and that gives him so much more as the host. Chappers is a good tv host but very much the question asker who has to realistically get the guests to provide all of the experienced answers as he’s not got that previous history as a pro. It’s a big loss for the BBC from their flagship footy programme in my opinion.

I’d say a good proportion of the home crowd are equally as upset with Cooper’s (mis)management as the away fans (many are both tbf.) It’s just much more difficult to start an off the cuff chant at a home match than it is away as the fans are spread over 3/4 of the stadium. It won’t be long however until ‘Cooper Out’ chants are heard across the KP and at away games if he continues with his current trajectory.

He actually caused a lot of problems for Dalot who fouled him 3 times and Casemiro struggled against him when trying to help out. The problem was the bit after he’d beaten his man when his decision making usually went wrong. That being said he was one of the few catching the eye for us alongside Buonanotte and Winks. No one was great but I think he was better than 2/10!

You can see Winksy’s frustration with his manager week in week out on the pitch. He was our best player today (despite his rubbish set pieces.) Going from a master tactician and motivator in Maresca to Cooper’s chaos must’ve knocked a football technician like him for 6.

Cooper is adept at soundbites like this. Nothingism’s that appear to say lots but have very little meaning other than obvious statements whilst trying to put a positive spin on shit shows like this. Presumably he says similar things to the players which is why we continue to repeat the same under whelming performances week in week out. He’d be better off moving to a social media post at the club where he could speak this well worded dialled in shite week in week out without the expectation it will motivate the players or the fans.
