  1. There doesn’t need to be a deflection.
  2. You’ve said not really and then contradicted yourself. The fact is you can be offside from a pass that goes backwards.
  3. The ball can go backwards and not touch a defender and still mean a player is offside. As long as it fits the criteria of offside when the ball is played. - ie the ball is received by a player who is ahead of the player that’s passed it to him and ahead of the last line of defence when the ball leaves the passers foot, then they are offside whether the ball is passed in a forwards, sideways or backwards direction.
  4. Ball doesn’t have to go forward to be offside. You can be offside from a backwards pass.
  5. Shocking game management in the last 20 minutes from Cooper. We let Palace have the ball in our final 3rd for virtually all of the remaining time. By going with two negative subs and not bringing on an attacking outlet after they swamped the game with forwards off the bench, it allowed their extra forwards to do what they do best without them having to worry about us. Coady was embarrassing for their equaliser, real schoolboy stuff.
  6. Bit harsh he didn’t do anything wrong under Sven, he didn’t really play! Sven dropped him out of the squad with barely any game time as he brought in Kasper.
  7. The tackle wasn’t from behind, it was from the side.
  8. You think that was a free kick and a booking? You think the ref wasn’t wrong for getting in the way of the game 3 times? That he ignored Digne’s multiple fouls? That he allowed Villa to dictate the pace of the game through time wasting, tactical fouls and injuries? Highlights can’t change the fact the ref was poor.
  9. Left his man Onana for the free kick who then scored. Didn’t notice that at the time. Basic stuff Wout. Stay with your man rather than walking back into your area and getting a fabulous on-pitch view of the goal!
  10. So the tv showed Skipp fouled and deserved to be booked? That Digne didn’t deserve to be booked for continual fouls? That the ref getting in the way of the game 3 times was good stuff? That his ignorance to the constant time wasting and tactical fouls/injuries was fine? He was very poor and I’m surprised that people on here stick up for him. He wasn’t the only factor that meant we lost - an overly defensive set up, an inability to stop Tielemans and silly mistakes cost us but the ref certainly didn’t help us at any point.
  11. Surprised with how many Coote fanboys are on here sticking up for him. He made poor game changing decisions including that free kick. He also interfered with play 3 times by letting the ball touch him. He let Digne get away with multiple fouls without booking him. He missed a penalty against Vardy. He allowed Villa to time waste throughout. He lost control of the game. He was shocking.
  12. Edouard can’t play against Palace tbf.
  13. It wasn’t from behind. The referee let similar tackles go later. It was a fair tackle from the side which is why so many Leicester players surrounded the ref. Very poor decision by a very poor, highly paid referee.
  14. Free kick against Skipp when he won the ball wasn't a free kick and they scored from it for a start.
  15. Although there’s not actually been much evidence of that fabled Daka pace tbh.
  16. Ricky and Mavididi didn’t let me down. Hopefully they’ll be in the starting 11 v Villa. Creativity, the ability to take a player on. It’s what we want to see Coops. Try to win rather than try not to lose.
  17. Yeh I thought Thomas had a good game.
  18. Some very harsh scoring on here. Great performance.
  19. KDH has fully embraced the Chelsea lifestyle. What a Hipster.
  20. Outstanding against Man U
  21. Tbf Gilmour was outstanding against Man Utd. Best player on the pitch for me. I think Brighton fans will be disappointed with this sale.
  22. I heard you say this on the podcast as well Ric. Faes has switched and has played both games against Spurs and Fulham as our left sided CB with Vestergaard on the right. As has been pointed out, it’s probably because Cooper is worried about Vesty getting exposed for pace with his new (not particularly successful) system of two permanent holding midfielders and using the left back as the additional attacking player.
  23. I bet BDCR plays again, maybe Cooper will shift to his preferred RW spot but I can see him picking him. He’ll play Ward and Thomas with a midfield of Hamza, Skipp and Soumare. Ayew up front. It could be painful. Only positive might be he’s forced to play Mavididi and Ricardo from the start.
  24. Not convinced tbh by any tactical decisions Cooper is making so I question this switch to the left irrespective of Vesty’s lack of pace. I understand Faes’ frustration and despite clearly being unpopular on here, I actually think he’s one of our better players, he’s a decent footballing centre half who can defend. He might make the odd mistake but that’s the same as every one on the team. If he does leave there’ll be a big gap in our defence that can’t be covered by Coady because he’s as slow as Vesty nor by Okoli because he doesn’t look ready to be a regular based on his pre season and certainly seems less able with the ball at his feet.
  25. Why can’t Verstergaard be on the left of the back 3? He’s slow in whatever position he plays in, he’s going to get caught out for pace whether he’s the player on the left, middle or the right.
