Support - So I accurately described your view that "support" should be always positive, thanks for clarifying. Your point about the word embarrassing is fair - My apologies it was the comment above yours that found cheering passes to our player as embarrassing not you, you simply disagreed with it. I had erroneously conflated the adjacent posts. Sarcasm directed at players is exactly that. You've chosen to extend the point entirely out of context. You seem to suggest that criticism has a place but only whilst there's no game being played. You proudly cheer for the 90 minutes, possibly you think that I somehow don't? If so you misunderstand my point entirely; I'm not arguing that there is a binary choice - cheer your side or boo your side and never change sides and always do one of them. I have made it pretty clear that I don't boo our own players and don't believe that's ever productive. However, in cheering that our winger got the ball, nobody has booed their players, or criticised them.... they have expressed their joy that we have moved the ball forward with some purpose, after 30 minutes of refusing to do so. The type of supporter you are - I have made a point about cheering when a winger has received the ball ..... You don't want any negativity expressed and have consistently made that point. I'd say I'm 98% in agreement with that. Positivity is a key element of support. But just occasionally I don't mind an ironic cheer when we play the ball forward to the man in space after 1/2 an hour of ignoring him. You don't want that to happen - you want constant positivity - a relentlessly positive supporter is fair then?? I think that constant positivity is part of the problem. Choose to be offended by that if you like, that's entirely your choice. You're in the comfortable majority, most fans refuse to be critical and agree with you that support isn't support if it's not positive. Personally I think there's the very very rare occasion when that's not the case - Like cheering when our defence realise we have a winger playing after 30 minutes. It's a forum, not a court, no need to retract statements we disagree on - just discuss.

Foxes Trust – LCFC Accounts Statement
5waller5 replied to Foxes_Trust's topic in Leicester City Forum
The statement started well, then seemed to lose confidence and softened. A perfect metaphor for the last few seasons. -
You think that supporting the team should consist of clapping / cheering everything all the time (unless you've just poured a Bovril out of your flask obviously)? Any critical expression, or ironic cheering is "embarrassing" somehow? It's the point that many of us have been making - with this relentless acceptance ( "positive support" you think you're giving (you're not)) then KPFC can continue to mess up without fear of fan reaction, players can give whatever effort they choose, and managers can never make substitutes however illogical that may be. I'm no fan of booing or putting pressure on your own players, but not all support involves gently tapping your clapper

They're not mutually exclusive

There's a fundamental difference to how we interpret this - for me the cheers were for us using Fats. Nothing to do with Wout at all. I just don't see anything negative / childish / crap support in cheering when we finally start to use the attacking option and not the negative recycle ball. I care not a jot that Wout "gives it back" because again I don't think he did - he cupped his ear to fans - "cmon, let's hear you"

I don’t get it - why is cheering a forward pass to someone in acres of space, after consistently ignoring him, in anyway embarrassing for you??

What would it take to turn on the owners?
5waller5 replied to MattFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
What would it take to turn on the owners? For me it would take 3 massive unbelievable **** ups that are so unrealistic it could never happen. Could it? Not sacking Rodgers 8 games into the 22/23 season. Not sacking Rudkin after he stuck with Rodgers for a year too long The set of accounts just released that document how much we paid our elite squad of relegated players. -
Sack the booooooard Sack the boooard Sack the board Sack the board sack the board sack the boooooorrrrrred Sack the board sack the board sack the board Sack .. The .. Board SACK THE BOARD In case anyone is to young to remember the 80/90s here's the chant lyrics.

No he wasn't. He was replying to a post about Rudkin and Whelan.

That would be for cashflow though not to shift accounting year?

This saying is usually used to warn that for every good thing there might be a bad thing. Your interesting new use is better though ... "for each totally shit thing there's another totally shit thing"
-
No. And this is why we tolerate ineptitude at the club because every time anyone wants change there's a good portion of our fanbase saying this. Sack Rodgers before he gets us relegated - "What and replace him with who?? There's nobody better that would come to us" Sack Rudkin / Whelan - "What and get a clueless foreigner with no experience of football" It's ridiculous. We are a huge top tier appointment for anyone in the top 20 of their profession worldwide. We aren't a sunday side that has to rely on Rudkin to help out because his dad's got an estate car.

Is he back from injury yet??
-
I don’t know how The Saints haven’t won that other than playing against 14 men
-
The league seem determined that Ipswich will get promoted. 7 minutes both halves?? Dodgy sending off.
-
For a striker to be so absolutely anonymous in a battling 3-1 highlights how well we did, and just how poor he was
-
Well played supporters at the game … the obvious dissatisfaction with the CB - CDM - CB passing and huge cheers when a ball was pinged to Fats had a huge bearing on how we played. For me, the increased intensity, better press, more effort, more attacking intent seemed a direct result of the fans. Happy days!
-
Exactly. Without at least trying Albrighton on either wing or as an inverted FB, Coady in for Wout / Vestergaard, Nacho up top, one of the multiple youth options as simple straight swaps. If he’s so rigidly wedded to the system he could easily change the combinations of players in it to unlock the door. I do still really hope he succeeds, and this is the Sheffield Utd watershed moment. That form table could look horrific on Tuesday!

I wasn’t at Ashton Gate yesterday. What happened?? How did the players react, did Enzo hear / see the reaction??

Our very own Delia… Let’s be ‘avin ya!!!

You’re right, neither of them played well and were as ragged as us. They did seem to edge it on desire though.

A few months ago we were on course to win the league with a record points total and were 17points clear of 3rd place. We are now in 3rd place. Thats not fickle.
