Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

He needs to try something like this imo. Not optimistic about tomorrow, but if we can get in a LCB and WG/ST, then the below line up may look slightly better. They’ll be a bunch of fans advocating for El Khannouss and Buonanotte to start together, but we need all the pace we can get, both defensively and offensively imo. -
His style has shown it can still work, but his style is like marmite, a section of fans will hate it from the get go. Personally it’s not a route I’d like to see us go down, give me an Iraola type any day, but I can understand why a section of fans would advocate for Dyche. Defensively you’d expect he’d make us more solid. Got a few clean sheets out of his Everton team this season, while even though Moyes has helped in the last two weeks since returning, under Dyche they had one of the strongest defences in the Premier League. I’d crave for a Branthwaite/Tarkowski style partnership right now. The negative side though is that his Everton team didn’t score many. He’d more than likely want Dwight McNeil and Dominic Calvert-Lewin types. The team we have now is a bit of a jumbled mess, but you make a great point in the third paragraph, you get your model right like Forest are currently doing, you can add Bournemouth to that too tbf, then you can create success. We laid a good foundation with Maresca, but we simply didn’t build on it this season and now we’re paying the price.

Luton got promoted by playing a scrappy style of football. Sheffield United and Sunderland are having success this season without playing possession heavy football. If we went for a Dyche type, then this squad would need a sizeable overhaul. Board seem too keen on a possession style, if we make a change the next step just reeks of the guy in my display pic or someone similar. Rather go down a more hardened style tbh, we’re too soft, we need to be horrible to play against. Give me a high intensity pressing team over a possession based one any day.

You play him in the middle of a back three surrounded by pace or you don’t play him at all. Three year contract though was utter madness, should have been one year with an option of a second, if he didn’t want that we should have binned him off.
-
Soumare at Lille had Benjamin Andre alongside him, one of the best defensive midfielders in France in terms of tackles, interceptions and duels. What he needs is Ndidi at top form alongside him. A combination of Soumare and Winks just doesn’t work in the Premier League, they just don’t have the defensive nous to protect a back four.

Been saying for weeks a CB, RW/LW & ST. But the more I see of this midfield, CM is an issue too We have no competent alternative to Wilf.

Wouldn’t care if he walks or he is sacked. But problems run much deeper, what are we trying to do with this football club in terms of identity? We went for a possession style system under Maresca, Cooper tried to move away from that while recruiting some horrific players, now Ruud probably wants a possession style, but we just don’t have the players for it at this level. We have become Burnley 2.0 of last season. This squad on paper needs ripping up, but with the contracts some of these players are on, it’s unlikely that we’ll see them depart. The squad is just an uninspiring jumbled mess. This possession based identity that we tried to create just doesn’t work. This squad needs changing with a manager who brings something different, unfortunately it’s hard to trust a board to change things when they constantly get things wrong.

Everton 4-0 LCFC, post match thread

Defenders who can’t defend. Midfielders who are passengers. Forwards who are too old and slow. Manager who’s defensive tactics and substitutions are crap. Board and recruitment team who have assembled a Championship standard squad. Leicester City in 2025.- 265 replies

That’s why he’s been starting Faes, because he’s probably our quickest centre back. But the problem is that both of them hate defending Only way Vestergaard should be starting is in the middle of a back three, surrounded by competent defenders who are rapid. -

First two games his in game management and substitutions were pretty much spot on, since then it’s been completely the opposite. Has he been dealt a bad hand? Yes. But his tactics especially defensively and his substitutions or lack of them have been embarrassing. Wouldn’t be arsed if he walks or is sacked tomorrow. -
From the likes of Wes Morgan, Rob Huth, Harry Maguire, Jonny Evans and Wesley Fofana. To Wout Faes and Jannik Vestergaard. That just epitomises how far we’ve fallen.

Unsurprisingly getting exposed defensively week in week out in the Premier League. A nothing player, unless he has a quality DM alongside him.
-
Shit defence Passengers in midfield No pace in attack This team is fvcking depressing.
-
Great defensive line lads, shite cvnts.
-
Good start lads.

2-0 win incoming! Ayew and Reid with the goals.

Colombian’s and Venezuelan’s more your type

@Tommy Fresh get stocking up on tissues just in case 👍🏻

Awkward player is Rowe, if we sent Buonanotte back, Rowe would be absolutely perfect for that kind of role. He was far more effective in central areas at Norwich.
-
Edwards, Zalewski, Buchanan and Ngonge, four suitable wingers for us who were available all heading elsewhere. We’re gonna end up with someone underwhelming like Oxlade-Chamberlain or Kouame of Fiorentina aren’t we

Scandinavian winger I believe. Gerrimin!

I know, but will more than likely be available for loan. As for the last bit, as recent history suggests, we love having our pants pulled down over loan fees
