Understandable explanation regarding transfers, especially when it comes to only wanting players to improve the starting 11, but operating like that, you’re just restricting yourself even more especially with our budget. Adding the right quality was either going to be too expensive, or those types of players probably had zero interest in joining us because of our current situation. Still disappointing though that we didn’t get at least one loan in from abroad, surely we could’ve got someone better to improve our defence. With the budget we had, I’d rather we went for some upcoming talent in the £5-10 million range, at least then you’d be building for the future. Now it looks like Ruud will have to dip into the future any way, with academy products such as Monga and Evans.

Gave up my season ticket because of Covid and Anxiety issues, thought I’d miss the KP but looking on it now, it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. For all their faults, they actually got it spot on last season. They found a manager with a specific style, and lets be honest, they planned pretty much perfectly for Maresca’s style. Last season’s summer transfer window was near on perfect. He did his job, got us promoted, then threw a curveball by leaving. Then the board fvcked up the plan by appointing the wrong guy, who wanted to deviate away from Maresca’s style, only really cared about wanting Premier League experience, now unsurprisingly we’re in another mess. That appointment of Cooper and the summer transfer window has set us back, they’ve pretty much pissed away a season.

Then you go after someone with a similar profile. Plenty of decent up and coming centre backs performing well in Europe in Djiga’s price bracket. Yet we stood still, now we have to watch this shit defence for the rest of the season. It’s criminal mate.

He may flop at Wolves, but this transfer is the one that pisses me off the most. A centre back with potential, was voted Red Star Belgrade’s best player for 2024, good with the ball and good in the air. The exact profile we need, but it’s likely we’ll get absolutely nobody, while also rejecting bids for the likes of McAteer. Incompetence!

Said on here last week to Ric that Italy or Portugal is probably our best bet to get a winger on loan. Tchaouna has been very much a back-up player for Lazio this season, he’ll more than likely be available, but his numbers are nothing special.
