  1. Main points I picked up… Both full-backs pushing up high and inside. Clear tactic to isolate our wingers 1 vs 1. Clear identity to press. Ayew led the line better than Daka. A new striker and more energy in midfield, then I’ll be pretty confident for the new season.
  2. I’ve seen enough, Ayew is our Vardy replacement
  3. Faes partnering Coady, Winks partnering Skipp, Daka up front. Doesn’t matter if it’s just pre season, seeing the same pathetic names on a teamsheet is still as ever depressing.
  4. Ryan McGivern 09/10 season vs Bristol City at home. Their winger Ivan Sproule took McGivern’s soul that night.
  5. Charlie Savage
  6. With Marti’s Swedish connections, if we want a ball playing goalkeeper. Noel Tornqvist - Mjallby Currently leads the statistic for prevented goals and save percentage in the Allsvenskan.
  7. Cesar Azpilicueta incoming!
  8. Will be interesting to see how aggressive he intends us to press, his QPR side were actually one of the least aggressive pressing teams in the Championship last season. Seemingly more structured rather than an Andoni Iraola Bournemouth type of pressing style for example.
  9. My profile picture changes worked a treat, my work here is done
  10. Hard to replicate the French Open final, but Sinner got better and better as the match went on, he was almost close to perfection in that 4th set.
  11. Only the 2nd time in the Open Era that we’ve got a 6-0, 6-0 final. Graf winning the 1988 French Open was the only other time.
  12. Heggebo to WBA was one that annoyed me, from a statistical standpoint, he was another one that ticked the right boxes. Atm I’m leaning towards Willem Geubbels at St Gallen, 14 goals last season, ranked well for possessions won, can link play and is a decent aerial threat.
  13. Looks to be joining Watford
  14. Bring me those Scandinavians please Marti 🙏🏻
  15. Frey was their main striker, but seemed to play more like a false 9. He ranked well in the Championship for aerial duels and possessions won. Cifuentes also played wingers in the striker role on numerous occasions, as you said, I wouldn’t be surprised if Mavididi especially is used in that role.
  16. Few elements of his management style written here https://therealefl.co.uk/2025/05/23/why-qpr-boss-marti-cifuentes-could-be-the-premier-leagues-next-big-manager/
  17. She has a deep history of being one of the most unlikeable players on the WTA tour.
  18. Think you asked me that before A few months ago I thought he was one of the better free agents available, but now more managers have become available, there’s better candidates out there than him. Did a good job at Mainz for a period of time, but didn’t last very long at Union Berlin.
  19. If it ends up being Cifuentes, hopefully he brings this element
  20. Cifuentes raiding the Scandinavian leagues for signings
  21. Thank god for that, can’t be having Siegemund in a Wimbledon Semi-Final.
  22. As @Ric Flair said on Saturday, it would be no surprise if certain managers from certain clients get linked, a day later Wilder gets linked, then O’Neil yesterday, it’s just very coincidental. As we know with the names mentioned, it’s clear as day that there’s no plan in place. We could still land Danny Rohl, but it’s also no surprise to see us potentially turn to the same client that we love to deal with. As for Wilder himself, there’s more strings to his bow than O’Neil imo, but if it ends up being one of them, it’s yet another unimaginative, lazy appointment.
  23. £6.9 million in the end, when numerous reports were stating he could go for over £10 million
  24. Would O’Neil or Wilder even be considered if they weren’t Wasserman clients? I have my doubts. Look at O’Neil for example, some of the Championship jobs on offer this summer, Boro, Norwich, Bristol City, QPR. Any of those clubs could easily be viewed as an ideal next step for him, yet none of those clubs wanted him. There’s worse ownerships in English football, but in terms of unimaginative and lazy ownerships, we might be the leading candidate for that.
  25. Looking forward to Leicester City sacking Danny Rohl in November while Russell Martin sits top of the SPFL
