I'm not anti them because they can't bankroll us, I'm anti them because they are quite clearly incompetent. If Aiyawatt gives things a proper shake up, gets some new people in and demonstrates he's learning then there is a way back. The odds aren't in his favour though. Given he sniped at the fans at the end of last season despite it being the tamest of criticism to the most avoidable relegation in Premier League history and let two of the main architects mark their own homework.

Rodgers served up that disgusting first half of the season, first seven games especially, but further dog shit upon the World Cup return, and instead of binning him they decided to take out a loan to fund signings because he wouldn't play the players he had. They're all a disgrace. I wonder if the penny will finally start dropping in this fanbase about how badly we're run. We haven't become well run because we've beaten a load of sides we have five times the budget of. It's the same people. Top's got to either sell up or finally start running the club properly.

Goals decided in a studio. League positions decided in the courtroom. I can only conclude there's sabotage.

You here have inadvertently (I think?) made me think of another way here to make a win likelier - so you've backed an absolute banker there in Herediano (they won 2-0) but what's stopping you putting in a load of teams at 1.05, 1.08 etc... on later days and then taking the cash out early? I reckon you'll get offered a pretty generous cash out if you land the underdog as your first pick. I hadn't even thought of this.

I think it is partly what started the collapse under Rodgers. I want to think with more of his own players he wouldn't take this attitude but I don't really believe that. Anyone who watched the first 20 minutes could see the gulf between the two sides. We very much opted into that yesterday and were quite lucky to not be punished.

That probably pushes our game with them back a week from when I guessed it would be (16th April).

I can live with it against better sides but not in games like that. They were really poor, four defeats in a row going into that game and it wasn't hard to see why. We keep pressing them and we can have that probably wrapped up by half an hour. His attitude in that game last night was well off for me.

It's all relative though isn't it. If you're more tired than your opposition that is a disadvantage. Said it at the time and stand by it but we needed a body or two in January. We lost a couple of heads in the squad and it's meant we can't rotate as effectively as others.
-
Our end not bad, not brilliant. Their home end really poor.

It's both obviously a dive but Choudhury took a bit of a chance putting his hand there. It was about the only thing the ref got right all game (bar the failure to book him). If people genuinely don't think that's a dive we're living in a hilariously deluded time.

Delighted to see this. It's a great method. It just has to pay. They've taken some more leagues off I've noticed. Calling it now this feature is gone by May.

Jesus Christ. These are the dark ages.

His lack of ruthless streak is going to be his undoing if he isn't careful. We got away with that big time and that's against a side in dire form who looked every bit worth five losses in a row. It was basically Sheffield Wednesday again without the equaliser. Are we just shattered or what?

Leicester 1-0 Sunderland Post Match Thread.

I hold two views on this game. The first is it's getting to the point in the season where you just take the wins by any means necessary and particularly given our precarious position and poor form, that it's good to stop the rot. The other though is the performance was one massive red flag - one of the biggest against Maresca for me. We exert early superiority, fail to really make it count and then just retreat into a style that risks blowing everything against a side you can tell are there for the taking. My point is I think play that properly tonight and I think you could be walking away 0-3/4 winners. Yet we've frankly ended up lucky to win that and it's entirely from our own negativity. Maresca has got to get more ruthless if he wants to make it at a higher level.- 474 replies

I'll give them this - they've finally achieved consistency. They're consistently absolutely woeful. He was about the most biased against us we've had all season and that is some going.

I know the practical answer is promotion but FA Cup. Another major trophy secured and another European tour. Having a bit more of Europe is all we've truly lacked.
-
I suppose if you're talking bouncing back then look no further than 2013/14 Leicester. I remember the Watford play-off game didn't just feel like an opportunity stolen in the cruellest way but very much our final serious opportunity given potential financial issues. The dream scenario if we do blow it this year is to follow it up with similar. I really hadn't much contemplated the idea we wouldn't go up this season bar a bit of a wobble around the Sensi debacle. I still think we will but I'm the least confident I've been.
-
Yeah they're just what I consider to be the safest wins. I've been let down by I think quite literally the three shortest priced teams I've backed though. I didn't miss a lot tonight. Neither Genoa or Sheff Utd paid.
-
Quite the opposite. I think we can get back to Europe and competing for trophies. The club itself however live in a fantasy world on how they can get there. Plain to see.
-
My confidence has taken a hit but we're still in the ascendancy. Lets make it count for once.
-
I do have to add though - you can tell we're quite scarred. There are twists and turns yet. History does not favour us, but it's unfair to completely write us out of this, even if I can understand why it's in a lot of our instincts.
-
What's most worrying about that is that in the first 15 games we didn't concede a single goal after the 75th minute, so that 13 points dropped and subsequently the only team in the top seven to have a negative difference has all come in the last 20 games. It is hard to not conclude that we have been sussed out somewhat. That whole mantra of wearing teams down has proven to not really been the case.
-
Maybe we'd start to really rediscover what actually made us tick as a club. We've become delusional and idealistic. Probably not likely under this ownership though.

I've been doing a bit of digging on this and the findings are genuinely quite remarkable. We haven't come back from 2 goals down to get anything out of a league game since Stoke in December 2016. Over seven years since we have been two down in a league game and not lost!!! In that time we did come back from 2-0 down at Wolves in January 2019 but went on to lose the game 4-3. In other competitions, the last was Spartak Moscow where we were 2-0 down and won 3-4. Then you have Sevilla where we were 2-0 down in the first leg but ended up winning 3-2 on aggregate. We are genuinely terrible at comebacks. I daren't count how many times we've blown two goal leads in the same period. That's a genuinely quite interesting finding to me - there is surely no other club in the 92 at least on a run that long.
