  1. Doesn't have to be IMHO. He IS the worst.
  2. Soul destroying. It's sucked the life out of me. Our club is broken.
  3. I'd still rather the Kop renamed with a big sign at the top saying THE JAMIE VARDY STAND so away fans can look at it the whole match.
  4. I wouldn't want the Vichai statue moved unless the expansion goes ahead. The memorial garden is tucked away at the moment and hardly anyone will see it. I do think it should be outside the main entrance though.
  5. I've shared the details with the club of two sitting in front of me via a feedback questionnaire.

  7. In all my years of going down the City I have never had a moment like this one. I was in some sort of weird drug like trance. I'll take this to the grave. Unforgettable.
  8. Make it happen. Come on King Power, give us something back.
  9. Won't be awkward. I will applaud if that happens.
  10. Tribute bands my be frowned upon, uncool even, but I saw the Musical Box at Bath Forum last night. It was more of a recreation of a Gabriel led early days Genesis from the 1972/73 Foxtrot tour. I missed the original at DeMont that spawned the 'Genesis Live' album so had to see this show. Old man's music? Probably, but I was taken back to a time of whimsical nonsense prog rock played by very talented musicians. Attention to every detail was immaculate from the stage set, costumes and original instruments. A great show that I'd recommend. Unfortunately they have already played DeMont but still touring elsewhere in the UK. Heracleum mantegazziani
  11. That wouldn't be enough to pay us back but it would be a start. Glorious.
  12. A good historical explanation (not mine) of the origins of St George.... The idea that St. George was Palestinian or Turkish stems from modern misinterpretations or anachronistic projections onto his historical context. St. George, a Christian martyr venerated as a saint, was born around 280 CE in Cappadocia, a region in what is now modern-day Turkey, then part of the Roman Empire. His father was likely a Roman soldier, and his mother was from Lydda (now Lod, Israel), a town in the Roman province of Judea. Calling him "Palestinian" or "Turkish" is misleading because these national identities did not exist in the 3rd century. The term "Palestinian" today refers to the modern Arab population of the region, which is distinct from the multi-ethnic Roman Judea of George's time, populated by Jews, Romans, Greeks, and others. Similarly, "Turkish" refers to the Turkic peoples who arrived in Anatolia centuries later, long after George's era. Primary sources, like the 4th-century accounts of his martyrdom, describe George as a Roman soldier of Greek or Cappadocian descent, executed in Nicomedia (modern Izmit, Turkey) around 303 CE for refusing to renounce Christianity. His connection to Lydda comes from his mother’s origin and his later association with the town, where a church was built in his honor. These sources don't align with modern ethnic or national labels like "Palestinian" or "Turkish." The fallacy likely arises from conflating ancient geography with modern political boundaries or from cultural traditions claiming George as a local hero in various regions. For example, Palestinian Christians venerate him due to his Lydda connection, and Turkey claims him as a figure from Cappadocia. However, these are retrospective associations, not historical facts about his identity. In short, St. George was a Roman citizen of likely Greek or Cappadocian background, and applying modern labels like "Palestinian" or "Turkish" to him is anachronistic and inaccurate.
  13. I think the actual saint is symbolic. No one believes the George and the dragon story anymore than Santa Claus. It's just a name given to what should be a celebration of a country.
  14. Most patron saints don't tend to come from the country where they are celebrated. St Patrick was born in Britain, most believe England but equally could've been Wales or Scotland. Happy St George's Day everyone
  15. Seems that he decided that it wouldn't be possible to just bat this one away. It will crop up again and again and even those not previously knowing or caring about the Equalities Act 2010 will start to hold an opinion. The law has been clarified and he would be in a seriously damaging position if he didn't nip it in the bud quickly. He at least now knows what a woman is. Shame that it took so long but it doesn't need to he asked again. The Government's position is now aligned with the law.
  16. Mistake or not, he had no choice but to clarify his and the Labour Parties position otherwise the questioning would've been never ending. He misinterpreted the law as did many others and now looks like a fool. But you are right, this won't encourage me to vote Labour. I'm still in the spoiled paper category. I dislike them all in equal measure.
  17. It's all about short term shite now. If we get a bit of success with an up and coming star of the future coach/manager then the likes of Danny Fuching Murphy will declare that he deserves better and will get poached by a shite Premier League club. Difficult to look any further than one season as we know. Same with players. Dyche will teach the dark arts, it might be shite to watch but it will be winning shite and after this season I'll take that.
  18. I was advocating for Moyes before the RvN appointment but got shouted down by most. Dyche is not my cup of tea but is exactly what we need in the circumstances. He should be our top priority but perhaps, like Moyes, he'll not fancy it. The club need to move very quickly to give, whoever they decide, the maximum time. No more excuses.
  19. He has been, only Fossehub, granted.
  20. Not sure of the figures but won't finishing 3rd bottom give us some much needed prize money? Perhaps go towards paying off RvN.
  21. I'd also bet the same majority are the ones being embarrassed and telling match going fans how they should support the club.
  22. Top 3 will likely be the 3 that come down. Wasn't it the highest points total ever for the Championship top 3 in the year we won it? And the lowest combined total for the same 3 in the Premier League era?
  23. Just watching Burnley vs Sheff utd and forgotten how poor the standard is. Like a different game. Nice that we won't be playing Burnley next season or Leeds.
