This was in soccernomics years ago. Statistically the best way in their analysis was a short corner if I remember correctly. But it misses the point that at the time the only teams regularly taking short corners were Barcelona and similar. They also had a theory that a lot of people prefer outswingers because the goals they produced tended to be more memorable. Interesting perspective, but for us our record from corners has been terrible for as long as I can remember, so id rather not have to watch it hit the first man over and over (im fine with the odd short corner).

Been out the gym for a while with a few lower back injuries but going to get back into it with some very light sessions over the next few weeks. Started physio for my back but unfortunately won't be able to deadline or squat for quite some time. General strength and fitness is my aim after doing nothing for a few years. I really want to strengthen my core and do some very light lower back work so that im building a foundation for when my back is a bit better. Does anyone have any ideas of things I can do at a beginner level (not been serious in the gym since covid) for core and back?
