TJB-fox Posted 22 May 2015 Posted 22 May 2015 Undoubtedly a class footballer and think he would be great in the CAM role if we continue to play 3-4-1-2. First half of the season @ Hamburg he was absolutely brilliant, showing he still has that bit of quality. However, in the second half of the season he had personal off-field issues (Split with wife, losing custody of son, new girlfriend lost a baby allegedly) along with the fact he's expected to carry the Hamburg side, he has dropped off recently. If we could keep him fit and his personal issues were resolved he would be a sublime signing (on the right wage of course.)
LCCFox96 Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 Close to a move to Real Betis according to Sky Sports.
MPH Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 Close to a move to Real Betis according to Sky Sports. In that case he's definitely washed up and we've dodged a budget there.....
shailen Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 Too much of a luxury for us. We don't have the players to accomodate for him imo.
LeicesterBran Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 It wild have been nice if he came to us as I feel he is a quality playmaker with superb technical ability, but lacks fitness and can be a luxury player. He was outstanding in his first season at Hamburg, then in his second and third he dropped off in form and had some off the field problems.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 6 June 2015 Posted 6 June 2015 In that case he's definitely washed up and we've dodged a budget there..... Yeah Betis, the club synonymous with washed up professionals.... BINNNNNN
MikeyT Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 Sky Sports Transfer Centre BETIS CLOSE IN ON VAN DER VAART Former Real Madrid and Tottenham midfielder Rafael van der Vaart is close to joining Real Betis, the club's president has revealed.
MPH Posted 8 June 2015 Posted 8 June 2015 Yeah Betis, the club synonymous with washed up professionals.... BINNNNNN I know, right!
MC Prussian Posted 9 June 2015 Posted 9 June 2015 Betis can have him for all I care. I think the old adage "his legs are gone" has never been more true (some may dispute the sincerity of such a statement) than in this case. VdV used to be big a few years back, but he's been struggling for a while now and living off past pedigree. Besides, Seville will suit him better as a city. Now, I'd rather we go for somebody a bit younger and with more potential. Such as Holtby or Alexandru Maxim.
sylofox Posted 9 June 2015 Posted 9 June 2015 In that case he's definitely washed up and we've dodged a budget there..... I bet beer and fags went up I fvcking hate budget's.
AyewJoking Posted 9 June 2015 Posted 9 June 2015 We wont sign van de Vaart. The club shop dont want to run out of the letter A again.
