Superbru Predictor 2015/16

Renart,

Your bumping the thread every week really helps me remember to make my pick.

Do you not get email reminders from Superbru? They remind me several times in the week leading up to the games.

Keep up the good work!  I am enjoying this competition!

They should send you reminders but I will continue to bump the thread on the days running up to a game - there are odd occasions when this might not happen however because of work or holidays.

A quick round up of this week’s results:

The top three remains unchanged with jean de plume and Lincoln in first and second on the same amount of points. They are closely followed by Eastanglianfox in third.

The new additions to the Top Ten are:

Glen parva Fox, a player who performed consistently well last season, who jumps 11 places to 4th; Vlad the fox who wins the yellow cap for this week and moves up a massive 33 places to 7th (congrats); Robert who moves up 7 places to 9th; and jaqo88 who moves up 23 places to 10th.

Inside the top ten Renart continues his upward trajectory, moving up 4 places to 6th. In addition, sky drops 1 place to 5th, and marbles drops 1 to 8th.

Those dropping out of the Top Ten are:

Swan Lesta, who drops 7 places to 15th; YabbaDabbaDoo, who drops 13 places to 18th; Stiff Little Fingers, who drops 16 places to 22nd; and FIF, who plummets 14 places to 23rd – probably as a result of boasting about how well he was doing last week (that is hubris for you – fate turns her wheel; he is probably no longer 2nd in France, unless there are only 2 players playing in that country).

Other players of note:

Watch out for veezeblue, a constant in in the top 5 last season, who has moved up 24 places and now sits just outside the Top Ten in 13th. Good weeks were also had by Batman and TheMightySystem.

No player picked the correct score in the Liverpool v West Ham game but three of you got the result right! And a special shout out has to go to Cambridgefox as he was the only player to pick Palace to beat Chelsea and he got the score correct.

Col City Fan was distinctly average once again….

Enjoy your break and see you in a couple of weeks.

lol lol

Yes, I get the reminders.  I read my personal email on my phone, and I prefer to make my picks from a much-larger-screen computer.  So, when I see the Foxestalk thread pop up on my computer screen, that reminds me to make picks.  The thread also contains the convenient link directly to the SuperBru site.

I know that you can take it mate as you have been giving as good as you get! You are right about it being a long season and I am pretty sure that I have jinxed myself by being so cocky!

Here we go then for the weekly round up, and there have been some changes:

We have a new leader with Lincoln and jean de plume switching places at the top, with Glen parva fox moving up to third and Robert moving up five places to 4th. There has also been some big moves taking places elsewhere in the Top Ten, with things being shaken up a bit. EastangianfoxVlad the Fox, and jaqo88 all drop out of the Top Ten in dramatic style after a poor round of picks, with sky and Renart (serves me right) hanging on in there by the skin of their teeth. The newcomers are veezeebluepSinatra, and Buce - who jump into 5th, 6th and 7th respectively. pSinatra, in particular, had an excellent week by winning the yellow cap and moving up 33 places!

A particular shout out must be given to webbo who turned the tide, scored the second highest and jumped 35 places.

Col City fan has made it into the Top 50, with a slightly better than average score this week, and FIF yo-yos back into the Top 20.

A word of warning to us all as last year's champion peterborofox continues to climb and reaches 14th.

Four players picked Everton to beat Chelsea but no one got the score exact, and four players got the score exactly right in the Leicester v Aston Villa game.

The biggest game of this next weekend must be Chelsea v Arsenal.

Good luck to all.

btw, I have set something up on the league table where it will now tell you your position for the calendar month, and your perfomance in previous months, by clicking on the tab above the table. For example, Col City fan is 19th for September, whereas I am 43rd - however, we have only played one game so far in September! If you look at August I finished 6th and Col City fan was 67th (blimey!). Should make it interesting

Therefore, the monthly award for August goes to jean de plume - well done.

As the organizer of this competition, I am trying to be impartial in my reporting. ;)  It just so happens that I chose you as a way of demonstrating to others how the new monthly leagues work.  Well done on last week - let us hope that you keep it up and make a competition of it.  :scarf:

I'm reminded of the words of Kevin Keegan at this point...'I'd bloody love to beat him' (or words to that effect).
