Guest CityFan 06 Posted 11 August 2015 Posted 11 August 2015 Not sure if this has been mentioned somewhere else, but Union FS's banner at the front of the Kop got me thinking. I would like us to have those types of banners spreaded all around the back of the stands at the ground with various sayings on them - if that makes sense? With all the King Power logo's at the back of the stands, I don't know if it would be possible but I for one would certainly love this to happen. I think it would add a bit more character to the stadium. What do you guys think?
Kitchandro Posted 11 August 2015 Posted 11 August 2015 I like that they block out the windows. Always thought they made the stadium look tacky. The more flags and banners the better, IMO. But the club have always played the fire safety card.....

But the club have always played the fire safety card..... They have but I think in hindsight we realise that was just a lie to deter people from bringing flags. A good relationship with the club and all of a sudden nothing is said about half of the Kop being covered in flags and people using flag poles. I don't think it's unrealistic anymore either.
AKCJ Posted 11 August 2015 Posted 11 August 2015 Something to do with covering advertising. Which is a great shame. It's sad that the club would rather gain an extra few quid from that than support the fans.

I think it's easier now they have a group culpable and in good contact with the club (as you said), on top of that they've realised off the back of last year how important atmosphere is coupled with Union FS's much more neutral and engaging generating comped to previous groups such as the Fosse Boys. The whole Kop is involved rather than a group in the corner acting overly Ultra about it.

As long as the flags/banners at the back only cover the clear perspex and not the King Power/Singha beer boards, then its fine!

It aint difficult, we've been doing it for a year. You're putting obstacles in the way mate, where there really arent any. Be sensible, respect the club, and they'll cut you more slack than you'd believeOops, Sol beat me to it!

Pupil taking over the master Steve? Some great new flags against Sunderland! The more the merrier I reckon
Countesthorpe Fox 1884 Posted 11 August 2015 Posted 11 August 2015 Loved the wavers on saturday so much better than just flags at the back
Soup Posted 11 August 2015 Posted 11 August 2015 Though we didn't cover the ad boards on Saturday we did last season and nothing was ever said.
PAULCFC Posted 11 August 2015 Posted 11 August 2015 Allways thought Shrewsburys end at their new'ish ground looked good with that massive SALOPIA flag.
Russell sprout Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Thought I noticed a gay pride flag in the corner where the union fs flags are, were my eyes deceiving me or can anyone confirm it was a gay pride flag??
tomtom Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 I've got a lot of respect for what those lads have achieved, The kop has been totally transformed and it's a brilliant atmosphere to be in (We're stood just to side of you) I'd never consider moving my seat now, it's definitely the place to be
steveherbe Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Thought I noticed a gay pride flag in the corner where the union fs flags are, were my eyes deceiving me or can anyone confirm it was a gay pride flag?? Yes there was, someone contacted the club and asked if they could put it up.
AndWhat? Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Thought I noticed a gay pride flag in the corner where the union fs flags are, were my eyes deceiving me or can anyone confirm it was a gay pride flag?? Yeah we left that area free for the lads who bring their big St George flag and then when we got back from the pub noticed 2 gay pride flags. Just thought they'd got a couple of new flags.
Soup Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Did they have anything to do with LCFC or just pride flags?
AndWhat? Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Did they have anything to do with LCFC or just pride flags? Yeah they were Foxes Pride flags.
Soup Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Ok cool.Someone did point them out to me but I couldn't really see what they were.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 I've seen the flags in SK1 and they look great from where I sit. It would be sueprb to have a massive one spreaded all across the ground at the back of each stand. But, with the fire hazard issue it's probably not possible.
Russell sprout Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Was going to say that with there being some fans who are proud to be gay, will they be launching a 'foxes pride' like arsenal have done, I think it would be a good thing for the gay community to do rather than just the gay pride flag, which I feel a lot of gay people hide behind rather than embrace the flag for what it stands for and be proud of who they are.
AKCJ Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 Can't understand the whole "gay pride", "black pride" or "feminist pride" thing. But then again I am a straight, white, ignorant and lazy male.

It's funny how we have this whole pride thing and if you was to say 'white pride' that would be deemed offensive and you a racist,it's all double standards
AndWhat? Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 It's funny how we have this whole pride thing and if you was to say 'white pride' that would be deemed offensive and you a racist,it's all double standards Maybe because of the type of people who use the slogan 'White Pride'?
Finnaldo Posted 12 August 2015 Posted 12 August 2015 It's funny how we have this whole pride thing and if you was to say 'white pride' that would be deemed offensive and you a racist,it's all double standards Probably because black people only got Federal rights 50 years ago, and didn't really achieve social equality till the 90s, whilst gays were only allowed to Federally marry this year and there's still factions against it. 20-25 years of social equality doesn't undo centuries of legal, cultural and social suppression. By the way, the KKK recently described themselves as 'the only white rights group in America', so that should answer your question.
