harryclark97 Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 I have a feeling we have found one of bill cosby's victims
Akinbiyi24 Posted 14 August 2015 Author Posted 14 August 2015 youd be top of the racist league Another one who avoids the question. Good lad.
General Smuts Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 Funny how no one has answered if the league is racist yet. They say we have to play a certain number of English players... I'm sure a few people have pointed out that xenophobia is different to racism. in the same way that the medication you've stopped taking is different to Calpol
Jimothy Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 Half cast?! (sic) ****ing hell. Which century are you from? Mixed race, whatever. Way to pick out one thing and completely ignore the rest of the point made in the post. Especially when that post was on the same side of the argument as you are. Whatever century I'm from at least I'm not a tool.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 Funny how no one has answered if the league is racist yet. They say we have to play a certain number of English players...It isn't racist, the league should be looking to support the country, our English football team...
ScouseFox Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 Another one who avoids the question. Good lad. the league isn't racist. there's yer answer lad. now why are you? (dont avoid that question x)

I was pretty shocked to see a term that was considered racist in the 80s pop up on here, that's all.
Akinbiyi24 Posted 14 August 2015 Author Posted 14 August 2015 the league isn't racist. there's yer answer lad. now why are you? (dont avoid that question x) Why isn't the league racist. They are saying you have to play a certain number of English players?
Mark_w Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 You know the real racist people are the ones who try really really hard to not appear to be racist Pretty sure the real racist people are, for example, the ones who start threads on football forums about the ethnic composition of their football teams.
ScouseFox Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 Why isn't the league racist. They are saying you have to play a certain number of English players? cos foreign (the type of player they are trying to limit) ain't a race. why did you avoid my question ya bigot
Wymsey Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 England black XI James Clyne, Sol Campbell, Rio Ferdinand, Ashley Cole Ashley Young, Carlton Palmer, Paul Ince, Raheem Sterling Daniel Sturridge, John Fashanu
Akinbiyi24 Posted 14 August 2015 Author Posted 14 August 2015 cos foreign (the type of player they are trying to limit) ain't a race. why did you avoid my question ya bigot You what mate. So you can't be racist against Scottish people?
foxes_rule1978 Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 Why isn't the league racist. They are saying you have to play a certain number of English players? Like I said the English league would like to give the English players a better opportunity to succeed, giving the whole country a lift if it results in a successful national team.. this happens in leagues throughout the world.
General Smuts Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 You what mate. So you can't be racist against Scottish people? No you can't you bell cheese because Scotland is a nation and not a race. You can be xenophobic towards them. Feel free to Google the big words.
ChrisFilter Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 You what mate. So you can't be racist against Scottish people? No. You can be prejudiced, bigoted, even xenophobic, but not racist. No-one is this stupid. Friday night trolling. Ignore it.
ScouseFox Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 You what mate. So you can't be racist against Scottish people? you what mate!
Merging Cultures Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 You know the real racist people are the ones who try really really hard to not appear to be racistI try really really hard to not appear racist. But then my black wife wouldn't be too happy if I was.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 Yeah... You would be considered racist having an all white side, so an all black side should be given the same treatment Why weren't Burnley then? They only had one black player last year.
RedSoxUK Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 Funny how no one has answered if the league is racist yet. They say we have to play a certain number of English players... The league is not racist - there is a set number of homegrown / English born players, put in place by the FA (English Football Association) to ensure the future of the English National Football Team, take note that this quota is English players, it does not discriminate or refer to race.
Merging Cultures Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 You what mate. So you can't be racist against Scottish people? No. You can be xenophobic towards them, and if they are ginger you can be gingerist (probably).
Jimothy Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 That's the only part of your post that caught my eye. I was pretty shocked to see a term that was considered racist in the 80s pop up on here, that's all. This is probably something for the Vardy thread, but anyway. I don't really see skin colour, I don't label people by it or find need to talk about it with people. The only time I get involved is what twats like the OP start talking shit about it. So having not spent my time paying attention to people's skin colour I wasn't aware someone had decided half caste was now racist. In the 80's no less. Being born in 82 and remembering the term being wildly used well into my teen years by many different people, including mixed raced people themselves, this has surprised me even more. All that said, I could have used mixed raced, but the point of the post was to point out Man Utd have one player who is clearly of one black and one white parentage, to counter the point about black players the OP made. The term mixed race could surely be applied to people who are a mix of all kinds of races, half caste, as I understood it refers to people of part white and black parentage. Anyway let's not derail the thread from humiliating the OP.

Anyway let's not derail the thread from humiliating the OP. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Half-caste It's generally seen as offensive as it originally implied someone was a 'half breed'. I was also born in 82, FWIW. I've also heard mixed race people use it to describe themselves without realising it was offensive, so it's not exactly the n-word, but it's generally considered in poor taste. Derail over.

I was quite uncomfortable with it at first, now I find myself saying it and forgetting it isn't PC these days! Don't worry about the half caste thing, my children will forgive you! Now if it had have been said with any malice, then I'd have to have a quiet word with you outside...

Made me uncomfortable at first too.
