Leicester City supporters will be given a unique opportunity to shape the matchday atmosphere this season, by designing a giant crowd flag to surf the stands of King Power Stadium.

The Blue Army have been at their brilliant best in the early stages of the 2015/16 Barclays Premier League campaign, inspiring the Foxes during their unbeaten start in a carnival of noise and colour.

From clap banners and visual displays to the good old-fashioned roar of the Kop, King Power Stadium has become one of the most raucous venues in the top flight. And to help us crank up the volume even further, we’re launching a‘Fly The Flag’ competition to find the best design for a brand new (20m x 15m) giant flag, to be unfurled from the Kop and passed from fan to fan around the stadium pre-match.

The designer of the winning flag will win the chance to see their flag unfurled for the first time, at our game against Arsenal on Saturday 26 September and a matchday experience including King Power Stadium hospitality. To enter, submit your design in a format of your choice to [email protected] with ‘Fly The Flag’ in the subject line by Tuesday 8 September.

We’ll then present your entries to our Fans Consultative Committee, who will decide on a shortlist to be put to a public vote.

Leicester City Ambassador Alan Birchenall said: “The atmosphere during the final games of last season and the opening games of this has been as good as I’ve seen in 13 years at this stadium. It’s rivalled the old days at Filbert Street, which is saying something.

“The fans deserve huge credit for the contribution they’ve made and the Club have embraced it with some brilliant initiatives to keep the place rocking. This is another chance for our fans to make the atmosphere their own and I can’t wait to see what they come up with.”

All entries should include entrant’s name, address and contact details and should adhere to acceptable standards of taste and decency.

Entries must be submitted by email or in writing by 5pm on Tuesday 8 September

Reading the wording, it looks to be a permanent thing. I'm guessing that was their intention with the #FEARLESS one. Least it shows they have actually listened to the fans and are prepared to replace it. Can't argue with that.

Brilliant from the club, great opportunity for one of our fans too. really good. No problem with the flag having to meet standards of taste and decency or whatever either, UFS have shown that a great display doesn't need to be OTT edgy or controversial.

So, what would people like to see on a flag?

Please try and keep it serious, lots of us moaned about this and it's our chance to get something we'd like!!!

You know what would be good is if they got fans involved with the planning of this. Even if it's to get some fans to send in designs and then get everyone to vote on it on the website. I like the idea and it's good to see they are trying to get things going but personally the #Fearless thing is wearing off for me (just "fearless" would be miles better) and is there really a need to put King Power branding on it?!

Not that I'm complaining as it is a good idea and it is nice to see they listen to the fans...

But, but... But I thought our owners didn't care about the fans and only about money and making us look like a laughing stock and...

If people just rolled over and accepted it we would just be getting more King Power sponsored flags.

Look at the flag Chelsea had on the go over the weekend, I didn't see no branding there...

So pleased and all credit to the club for listening to the fans on this. Let's create something sensible and traditional.

It going to make such a difference to my life and that of all LCFC supporters' that we have a flag with no branding on it, in a stadium covered in branding and surround by thousands of people wearing branded shirts, watching a team with branding on their shirts.......................in a league that's branded the Barclay's Premier League!

Its like a Berlin wall type moment!
