Dynamogoon Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Geebus guys, some of the reactions in the match thread are pathetic. Weve a great squad, who have treated us for the past 6 months to some stunning football, how about not chucking your toys out of the pram the minute we go behind. This. Pathetic.
Guest Col city fan Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 I'll say exactly the same thing as I said last week. The match thread is a fookin embarrassment.
gurru991 Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 We are not a top 5 team ... Face up to it !!! We are a team that is going to consider a top ten finish as a success. Obviously CR has not finished with tinkering with this side. Do not sh1t on the team when they struggle, It's a work in progress.

Thracian Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 It's not all negative nancies but there must be some posters tired of getting egg on their faces week after week. Maybe time to man up and acknowledge that Ranieri has made a superb start to his time here. I'm delighted Ranieri's our manager and thrilled that we're second in the Premiership but that does not blind me to the reality that we've a lot of things that need improving before anything can be called superb on more than a match-to-match basis. So far this season we've played well once - against Sunderland. We've played partially well in other matches too but there's been a bucketload of minuses and I see no reason why those things shouldn't be the subject of discussion and improvement if at all possible. These things are both collective and individual. Success is all about getting a solid base and then attending to details - as many as you can identify and improve on...whether it be the performance of Inler in our team or our collective inability to string even the simplest group of passes together. I'm so proud of our players but i don't kid myself and I don't hero worship anyone beyond his last day's work. Once the sun sets what matters is the next result and performance. Concentration and consistency need to be byewords yet so far this season we've been the "sloppy" that someone mentioned far too often. Yes, second in the Premiership is super. But just imagine the potential if we really get it right!
The Doctor Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 I don't hero worship anyone beyond his last day's work. Andy King, Louis Dodds and Alan Sheehan anyone?

Our players are always going to make mistakes or be sloppy and lose concentration at times. However the spirit we have and confidence right now is helping us to overachieve and it is great to see.
RobHawk Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 To all the miserable moaning fookers, it could be worse, look at Newcastle, Sunderland and villa. All 3 look doggo and seem to be only getting worse. We'll have good runs and we'll have a few bad ones too. I remember the same in the O'Neill years too. Today we weren't great, even second half we weren't at out best, but we came from 2-0 down to get a point away at Stoke which is not an easy place to go and get a result. Roll on west ham and remember the old saying, if you haven't got anything nice to say, shut the **** up!
Freesolo Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Next time you're getting angry because things are not going our way you need to remember just how far we have come. From Div 1 football to here 2nd in the Prem unbeaten all season with our two cheapest buys terrorising defences.I found this old post from 2011 I think you should read it and remember where you came from and how bad things can get Posted by Nod.E on 17 August 2011 - 11:48 PM It is YOUR ****ing fault. 'Woah. Hold on there. What? Us supporters? Not the ref? Not the manager? Us?' - Yes, you, you pathetic excuse of a majority, I'm talking to you.My theory is far fetched and probably ridiculous. Regardless of whether it is correct, I certainly have a point that our fans are among the worst in the football league. People ramble on about how 'brilliant' our support is. B*llocks. We live in a big city with no other major football teams surrounding us. That is why we get a large number of fans. We have one big city seperate from other cities nearby. When you look at the likes of Coventry who we look down on for their turn outs, it is clear to see that their club compete with Villa and Birmingham for their supporters. Burnley, for example, are also surrounded by big teams. Then there's the London clubs and so the trend continues. We don't have that. We're a city in our own right with rivals at a similar level to ourselves. You'll find less fans in Leicester with an excuse to support the likes of Man Utd or a big London club.We do not have good fans, there are just quite a lot of us. The moment something goes wrong you all jump on the bandwagon, don't you? Jesus, SSL made a howler tonight, granted, but to BOO him afterwards? What kind of people are you? You could argue that professionals should deal with pressure better but for crying out loud they're probably going out there scared shitless that god forbid they might do something wrong. You BOO Nicky Maynard for scoring against after not joining us, when there is little he can do about it! He's a professional and I think the guy should take credit for not handing in a transfer request. He has a contract and unless those above him decide otherwise, he should continue to play under his contract. Doesn't that just sum it up? You lot boo without a thought. You're always going to find a percentage of football fans who are fickle morons at a football club but I'd argue we've got it pretty bad. We're infested by you oxygen thieves (to quote Russell Brand!) Do me a favour and leave your frustration from life at home. 'Times are hard. I'm skint. I am an absolute fool with no brain. I know what I'll do, go take my anger out on some footballers. I hope they're awful, cause I'd love a good ol' boo!' It's your fickle type that were out and about in the bigger cities last week looting. Scum. Sub human scum. (I can't rant without quoting Partridge at least once.)This attitude of the fans doesn't exactly promote a positive atmosphere. So, why do you need a 'positive atmosphere?', I hear you ask. Look at Southampton. Look at Norwich last season. Look at us in our play-off season. Not particularly brilliant squads, so what made them successful? In my opinion, a positive air around the place off the back of a promotion season. So I ask you, why can we not give our players a fighting chance by getting behind them rather than waiting for them to slip up and jump on them? If you're at work and you mess up, what would you want? Your manager to absolutely rip in to you, even though it's the first thing you've done wrong? No. You'd want encouragement. Don't get me wrong, I think our team were poor tonight. Isn't it interesting, though, that the times that we played our best football was after our goal and after their penalty miss? When was our worst football? After their goals. Of course, some questions should be asked of the mentality of the players. They should be strong enough to play good football regardless of what has just happened. However, perhaps if the large proportion of cretins our supporters yield would lay off for a second, our players wouldn't feel QUITE AS sorry for themselves. Just a suggestion. If I supported another team I would hate LCFC. Our fans are utterly ridiculous and right now all of those I criticised in this post deserve every last drop of depression from this defeat. I kind of wish I was a Bristol fan tonight. There's nothing more I'd love than to feel smug against LCFC fans.
Blanesta Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 The match thread is a place to express your feelings about the match, that involves negative as well as positive comments, If you go on any clubs forum during a match they are all exactly the same. So if some people can't handle match day threads you should really stay away, go play with your teddies.
Number 6 Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 It's fickle to base your opinion on the immediate evidence? We were terrible first half yesterday; gave away poor goals and could have conceded more. Also, many had been hoping Ngolo would be central and Ulloa would play. These changes were eventually made but people have a right to criticise when things aren't going well, just as we should praise when it does. EDIT: also different posting on here and being at the ground. Against Villa, when we had been awful and we're 2-0 down the fans still supported the players.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 I don't know how anyone can post on here during a game, I'm far too hyped up to do anything but concentrate on the game
Guest Col city fan Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 The match thread is of course the place to vent feeling during the course of a game. What gets me isn't that it's vented, it's HOW it's vented. With some, there's no reason. A player may be having an off day, give away a sloppy pass or miss a tackle..and they are labelled as being 'shit', for instance. Ranieri becomes the worst manager ever to a hero within the space of 45 minutes. The 'calamity Morgan' thread gets posted into during the game etc... It's laughable. Sure, vent frustration but Christ.... Show a bit of composure and reason.
Wymsey Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Just giving mediocre teams like Stoke and Villa a head start, and embarrassment after.
