Him, Lineker and Worthington definitely our 3 stand out strikers of the past 40 years for me (Vardy is getting there). I've said before, but his last couple of seasons here after Lineker left were basically the closest I've ever seen Leicester to being a one-man team. We were basically a lower-half Second Division side without him - as was shown when he left. Should've got a lot more than 11 caps for England, especially when you consider he won the English golden boot twice.
Guest bss9401 Posted 2 October 2015 Posted 2 October 2015 Lineker and Smith, two of my all time heroes. It's hardly believable that we had them at the same time. Smith was not underrated by anyone who watched regularly at the time, nor was he at Arsenal. There is no doubt that he is one of our all time great centre forwards.

Saves me a romantic post, Good post and to the point.We werent the SAS but LSL, ..Lineker, Smith,Lynex. Smith quiet man, smoothy, but a damn good England Striker, like Vardy came from nowhere, although with youth on his side. Even when he left, he took leicester fans hearts and best wishes with him. Also one of the best pundits now going around, like Gower oozes class.
