Salieri Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 Definitely edging his way up in my affections towards the likes of Walsh and Izzet
Guest Col city fan Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 Good old Col you could depress the Joker
Trav Le Bleu Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 If he gets 20+ goals this season he might be.
Sampson Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 I honestly think he's already overtaken any other striker from the MON era. Best striker we've had since Lineker and Smith for me. Hopefully he can even rank alongside them or even go further.
limeydale Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 Well I aint sure, I grew up in the Banks Shilton era and I've missed about 30 odd yrs of being able to watch any Leicester games since I moved to the states. But he does remind of the great Billy Bremner a most hated Leicester foe back in the old days.
Blackpool Fox 69 Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 1. Lineker 2. Vardy 3. Robbie Sav....just joking Izzet 4.Matty Elliott 5.Steve Lynex

LanguedocFox Posted 24 October 2015 Posted 24 October 2015 Not sure the question has any real relevance, given that football is a team game. And what makes this City team - and Vardy - so special is that it is such a good group of players. Sure I love the fact that Vardy came from non-League, admittedly at a record fee, and has confounded everyone - including a lot of posters on this forum. But I also love the facts that we got: Marc Albrighton on a free when he was discarded by Villa - who could be bottom this time tomorrow Riyah Mahrez for fvck all, from Arsene Wenger's home town Robert Huth because Mark Hughes (Stoke are 14th) didn't rate him Kasper Schmeichel from Leeds because they didn't rate him Danny Drinkwater from Man U for next to nowt and so on and so on and so on. I've been supporting City for more years than is healthy, and this is the best we've had. I love Vardy and I hope he wins the Golden Boot this season. But I hope the team wins the FA Cup and the League Cup, and gets us into Europe. Maybe a dream, but I doubt there has ever been a season when it was more likely to become reality/

Collibosher70 Posted 25 October 2015 Posted 25 October 2015 I remember Gee hitting the bar vs Derby from about 60 yards (deliberate exaggeration before the pedants pounce), with Greavsie commentating, saying afterwards he was thinking 'Don't shoot from there son, you've got no chance'
Collibosher70 Posted 25 October 2015 Posted 25 October 2015 What a game that was...I remember greavsie saying muggletons made a muggleton of it

Sampson Posted 25 October 2015 Posted 25 October 2015 That's a very big shout saying Vardy ranks above Heskey.I disagree. Heskey was a good player for us and gave money to the club and a true Leicester fan etc. so he's understandably well loved but I'd consider him a second tier striker in Leicester's history solely taking into account ability. I wouldn't quite put him alongside Lineker, Worthington, Smith, Dougan or Keyworth. Or I guess Rowley and Chandler from what other people say.But Vardy over the past 6 months or so has definitely been in the same bracket as all those great strikers and a tier above Heskey at his peak.
foxes161 Posted 25 October 2015 Posted 25 October 2015 his heart, passion and willingness to work is why he is so amazing. He never gives up and never stops running.
davieG Posted 25 October 2015 Posted 25 October 2015 If we're talking strikers let's not forget the Doog who made a massive impact in the short time he was with us. Still one of my favourite strikers for his goals and his character.

Freesolo Posted 25 October 2015 Posted 25 October 2015 Surprised the lack of love for Claridge, yes he wan't the most skilled footballer but he was the top scoring player to not be capped for his country in 97/98 and the amount of important goals he scored has to put him up there IMO
Guest Col city fan Posted 25 October 2015 Posted 25 October 2015 And Col's "he'll never make it as a prem striker" Oh shut ya face!Amongst probably a hundred similar posts from others. I said when it comes to football I'm RARELY wrong...no that I'm NEVER wrong.. (Scouse)
