Oh no, being a agent of the Indian government, he is funding a lavish event here in the UK for controversial PM of India, Narinder Modi.

But he is not the only other person on the Indian payroll, a well known agent Sharma of labour and Ealing is also well involved. Both of these guys have there hands dirty in using there lower for the Indian governments needs.

As a Brit, I'm embarrassed this shit goes on unnoticed and reported by the UK media

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to address the UK's Indian diaspora at Wembley Stadium during his visit in November, with 60,000 people now registered to attend the event. Four Labour MPs have announced that they will be donating their pay rises to contribute towards the cost of putting on a show for PM Modi at Wembley, which will see artists, dancers, and other performers coming together to honour the first Indian Prime Minister to visit the UK in ten years.

Keith Vaz (Leicester East), Virendra Sharma (Ealing and Southall), Steve Pound (Ealing North) and Seema Malhotra are the MPs to donate their pay rise to the cost of the cultural show, with more than 450 organisations from across the country coming together to support the event.

"To choose Wembley Stadium, which is where the Champions League final takes place and where only rock stars perform, shows how special Narendra Modi is to all of us," Keith Vaz MP told a gathering of UK Welcomes Modi partners. "Thanks to all of you, MPs have just had a pay rise and because I am so excited about this event I will donate my pay rise for November for this great function."

Vaz said that he had also spoken to Parliament's speaker about having Narendra Modi address the diaspora in Parliament, a proposal which the speaker had backed. They now await to hear whether the Prime Minister will be able to find the time to speak at Parliament during his trip in November. Vaz also announced that he had reached out to Leicester University and De Montfort University to be the first British universities to confer an honorary degree on Narendra Modi.

Steve Pound MP addressed the UK Welcomes Modi partners as well to speak about Prime Minister Modi's significance on a global scale. The MP for Ealing North insisted that this was "not just for the Indian diaspora" and that Narendra Modi is not just the Prime Minister of India, but that he has an important role to play as a "global statesman".

"This is about the future of the world. This is about a man who is playing for the highest stakes on the biggest stage," said Pound. "What a Diwali we are going to have – Wembley will be visible from outer space! There will be a great outpour of emotion that will reach to the great heavens and beyond and will never, ever be forgotten."

With public registrations now closed, organisers of the event confirmed that 12% of the attendees are over the age of 65 and 10% are below the age of 10. The UK Welcomes Modi group hope to create a "family atmosphere" in honour of the Prime Minister's visit coinciding with the Hindu festival of Diwali.

"A gathering of this kind has never been done in the UK before and it is only with such a dynamic leader like Prime Minister Modi that this could have allowed such an opportunity," said a spokesperson for UK Welcomes Modi. "It is by far the biggest reception any elected foreign leader has received in the UK and by far the largest Prime Minister Modi has received internationally."

The Indian High Commissioner to the UK, Ranjan Mathai, has joined in to welcome the Indian Prime Minister ahead of his visit to the UK. He points out that Modi is the first Prime Minister to have a majority in parliament for 30 years and praised his "dynamic vision" for India and its place in the world.

"This event will present the Indian community in this country in its true light to the audiences in this country as well as around the world", said High Commissioner Mathai. "It will boost the Indians living in the UK. It will also give [the diaspora] a sense of how best to connect with our Pradham Mantri's (Prime Minister) programmes for involvement of NRIs (non-residential Indian) and PIOs (person of Indian origin) in the development and advancement of our great motherland India."

A Modi Express service will launch on 9 October to provide convenient transport for people outside London who will be coming to Wembley on 13 November for the Prime Minister's welcome event. Many also took to Twitter to express their excitement over the event, while artists from various performing arts fields pleaded with organisers to consider them as an act for the show. Some have speculated that the famous Indian composer AR Rahman will perform on the day.

It is pretty staggering Vaz has managed to keep his job considering how much scandal he has been involved in.

He's a good member of the home affairs select committee though.

Nearly 40 British MPs have signed a motion calling on David Cameron to raise human rights concerns with India's prime minister, Narendra Modi. The motion was started by Jim Cunningham, Labour MP for Coventry South, in July 2015. Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn is among the list of supporters, alongside Alex Salmond from the SNP.

Among other issues, the Early Day Motion calls for the release of a number of political prisoners held by the Indian state, condemns the ban on Indian Greenpeace activist Priya Pillai from coming to the UK to address British MPs, and questions the Indian government's ban on the BBC's documentary 'India's Daughter', as well as attempts from Indian authorities to block the film from being shown in the UK. The motion also cites an Amnesty International special report on human rights atrocities in Kashmir.

Sponsors of the motion include John McDonnell (Labour), Peter Bottomley (Conservative), Paul Monaghan (SNP), Ronnie Campbell (Labour) and Alan Meale (Labour).

"I was very happy to support the Early Day Motion in respect of the promotion of human rights in India," Monaghan told IBTimes UK. "While I recognise and respect the right of the people of India to develop their culture and their society as they see fit, I would equally, with the greatest of respect, ask political leaders in India to review the circumstances surrounding the hunger strikes and other protests currently being undertaken by individuals fighting for recognition of human rights in that country."

The motion is supported by a dominant proportion of Labour party MPs, presenting a contrast with a group of Labour party MPs who have actively supported Prime Minister Modi and his visit to the UK in November.

Four Labour MPs have also announced that they would be donating their pay rise to help fund a welcome reception for the Indian Prime Minister at Wembley Arena. One of these Labour MPs had previously signed the motion raising concerns about India's human rights record under Modi, however, Virendra Sharma appeared to have withdrawn his signature before making a donation to the UK Welcomes Modi group.

Jeremy Corbyn has signed the motion as a supporter, rather than a sponsor, but this isn't the first time the newly elected Labour leader has been involved in an Early Day Motion regarding Modi. Corbyn previously sponsored a motion in 2013 calling on the UK's Home Department to reinstitute the ban on Narendra Modi, citing "his role in the communal violence in 2002" in Gujarat. He also tabled a motion in 2015 "deploring" PM Modi's ban on the BBC documentary 'India's Daughter', with 60 MPs signing it in support at the time.

The Indian PM will be visiting the UK in mid-November. He will be the first Indian leader to visit the UK in nearly a decade and is expected to address the UK's Indian community at Wembley arena on 13 November. More than 60,000 people have registered to attend the event. However, a number of Indians in the UK have planned demonstrations to protest against Modi's visit. The groups are also concerned about a number of human rights issues under the current prime minister.

Virendra Sharma had not responded to requests for comment on his involvement with the Early Day Motion at press time.

Hatts off Mr. Corbyn, you are true British. You love your citizens. Everybody should know here,,,,,,,, there was riouts in India in 2002in Gujrat. Our two British national went Gujrat at that time . Some extremist Indian national those are member of RSS caught our British national and burnt them alive . They were innocent , they went India as a tourist. You will be shocked to know that Modi was ex - member of RSS. Modi was chief minister of Gujrat at that time in 2002. The killer of our British nationals are still free. You also know here about RSS, this is an organisation who works against minorities of Indian national(Sikh,Christians, and Muslims). Modi was the genocide of 2002 riouts. Now there is a big question , two days before two years old baby girl raped by ill mentality of Indian national in the capital of India , one month before one man has killed by stones on eating beef, one week before three lower caste man has killed. This is all happened in Modi government. Now the question Modi is unable to look after his own country how will he give protection to foreign investors? Another question when the killer of our British national will be in prison .? So MR Jeremy you took the right step , every Britishers is with you. Hatts off again less

The British must not forget that the PM of UK is in India nearly every year. UK is of hardly any relevance to India today being not even 20th as a trading partner of India. India perhaps needs to curtail these frequent visit of PM of UK by very visible and open hints to UK.
