MPH Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Very Sad news. Only consolation is of course that his last waking day was spent doing something he loved- Supporting the City.
leftbackinthechangingroom Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Rip noone shouldn't come home after a game
KP Fox Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Sorry to hear the sad news. My thoughts and prayers are with Ian's family and may he rest in peace.
Filbert_Ross Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Sad news to hear of a fellow city fan passing away. Excuse my ignorance but may I ask who Denise Midgley is?
Drew Peacock Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 I haven't been on Foxestalk very long, but have been a Leicester fan for over 35 years. I don't think I've posted a serious post yet, but it's certainly time for one now. I just saw that a recent tweet from Denise Midgley, just before her husband passed away, was to the author Lucie Brownlee, who wrote a book called 'Life After You'. It is about Lucie's experiences and feelings after her husband died suddenly at the age of 37. Lucie Brownlee replies and it is a very poignant tweet. We all do what we do everyday, and we expect to return home safely. I am sure all of us though at some point, even if just for a fleeting moment think 'what if', and then dismiss it quickly. Often Leicester City has for me been too important. It probably will be again very soon, but tonight I have given my children an extra cuddle and will be doing the same to my wife, whilst I reflect on how fragile life is. Although I don't know Denise, and like most people on here I don't have any emotional attachment, as a fellow fox I just wanted to say, if you read this, I am so sorry.
Eastwellfox Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Having read this post I feel very lucky. I had a heart attack a few days after the recent Crystal Palace home game which resulted in me having a quadruple bypass. My experience was no more than a tightening sensation in the neck and shortness of breath. It could have been so much worse but I am lucky enough to be around to tell the tale. At first I was going to ignore it but eventually had the sense to do something. I am only 55 and fit. Heart disease is something which can catch you off guard without symptoms and I would tell anybody to get checked if they experience anytype of symptoms however small. Rest in peace Ian.

lcfcfem Posted 30 December 2015 Posted 30 December 2015 The absolute outpouring of support and love from all over the world and in particular so many LCFC and LFC sites has been outstanding, be it through FB pages, twitter, or footie forums. This is an horrendous loss for us but we gain some comfort from knowing people care, whether they knew Ian or me, or just because of the passion and caring of being part of the blue army. My Ian was only 54. Totally unexpected. Totally not real. Totally wrong. For those that did know us, you will know that my passion is sky high for my club and Ian loved that side of me. And somehow his leaving me at a football match has given me some comfort that wouldn't have been there had it been at any other time or place. I know we are not alone, and that really does help a little, so thank you to all my family, friends, cyber friends, and people that dont even know us. You have all given me such caring words and it does help. x
