Fox92 Posted 1 January 2016 Posted 1 January 2016 You have clearly never read the LCFC official facebook page. The majority of Algerian Mahrez fans are rude and disrespectful about our team at best and flood any post with comments about Mahrez. They managed to derail the Christmas hospital post into one of Mahrez/Algeria. The contrast in the social media behaviour of mainly young Algerian males to the Thai people who comment on the club is a complete contrast and lesson in manners, common sense and humility. There are a few people on their that talk sense but when anyone comments back at them, such as when Vardy won POTM, they are being rude and it seems to be default to call people racist as Mahrez is a Muslim so that's why he wasn't chosen. Most seem to think he is the only reason we are where we are and should leave to join PSG/Barca/Real. I wouldn't take anything posted on FB seriously. Place is a mess.
MC Prussian Posted 1 January 2016 Posted 1 January 2016 I find it slightly ironic that Algerians now come up with that stuff - I'd place a very high bet that 99.9% of their football fans had never heard of Leicester City FC up until two years ago. But hey, that's just me being Mahrez.
Merging Cultures Posted 1 January 2016 Posted 1 January 2016 I spam our page sometimes. Mahrez iz d best, like if U like Mahrez and Licester
Algerian Fox Posted 1 January 2016 Author Posted 1 January 2016 And if Mahrez ever left.. then you keep supporting us too of course we still supporting leicester
GaelicFox Posted 1 January 2016 Posted 1 January 2016 Behave. Support is welcome from anywhere, even if it stems initially from Mahrez. Let's hope our Algerian buddies hang around 2016/17 of course we still supporting leicester Are you actually in Algeria or based in the UK ???

WTF ????
Richmondfox Posted 1 January 2016 Posted 1 January 2016 nationalist pride in North african countries is staggering .....we could all learn a bit from them boys Saddam hussain as your avatar ????? WTF ???? Mahrez who was born and raised in France to Algerian and Moroccan parents, choosing to play for Algeria in honour of his late father. The pride in players is due to the national team all playing at a high level across Europe not domestically. I love the romantic notion as much as the next fan that our team is bringing together east and western football fans to unite and we are gaining a global fanbase but don't try and kid yourself that it's anything more than Mahrez glory supporters that picked up on him at the AFCON. Maybe we have replaced Borussia Dortmund as the hipster team to look out for. The lefties have shot down nationalist pride in this country so not to offend because of the actions of a few idiots.

There hasn't been a left wing Government in the UK since 1979. So why haven't successive right wing Governments since been able to restore your sorely missed national pride?
Algerian Fox Posted 1 January 2016 Author Posted 1 January 2016 Let's hope our Algerian buddies hang around 2016/17 Are you actually in Algeria or based in the UK ??? IN ALGERIA
Collymore Posted 1 January 2016 Posted 1 January 2016 Can anyone confirm if it's common to see a Leicester shirt in Algeria now?
Richmondfox Posted 1 January 2016 Posted 1 January 2016 There hasn't been a left wing Government in the UK since 1979. So why haven't successive right wing Governments since been able to restore your sorely missed national pride? Sorry I meant Liberals and forgot the smiley face to show that it was slightly tongue in cheek. I just find the original comment about them being more nationalist and we can learn something a bit of a ridiculous thing to say. I wouldn't say they are, they just have 12 really really good players in their national team across Europe and no local league of quality so it's easier for the many to follow and be vocal over the few players they have. That said I would love Slimani here if he has his international scoring form or Feghouli. The national team seems to have goals from all over the squad. I'll stop with my opinions of how they come across and join in the fun I love Algeria Mahrez Barca, Messi, Lesta best EPL.
Great Boos Up Posted 1 January 2016 Posted 1 January 2016 I wonder how close we were to signing Islam Slimani? And did Mahrez say anything. Was it Inler who got the deal instead? I really wanted him and still ponder on why the deal couldn't get anywhere. Is it still a possibility?

I won't bother with a list! Slimani does look great, I have to agree with that.
Thracian Posted 1 January 2016 Posted 1 January 2016 Big nest of vipers..... The sentiment is fine on the surface. But it actually comes across as "think like us or you don't belong," I've been supporting this club 57 years and I don't like anyone deciding what constitutes a fan because there are countless different types expressing their support in countless different ways.... Some can't abide losing, say so and suggest how the problem might be improved.... Others accept losing as part and parcel of football and tomorrow's another day. In other words group "a" sees it one way, group "b" another and I'll drink with either because they're all wearing the colours of Leicester City whatever their philosophies.

Haha I nearly added that it would have to be fruit juice - but not because of the Arabic or Algerian guys, I promise. I only know one Algerian and I'll let you guess what he might have been a conviction for!
